A new addition to the M series lineup is the Samsung Galaxy M21s. It was officially launched on 5th November 2020. The M21s comes with a 6.4 inch Super AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution of 1080×2340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Inside the hood, we get the Exynos 9611 processor and 4GB or 6GB RAM options. In terms of storage, we get 64GB or 128GB of internal storage and a MicroSD expansion support of up to 512GB.

Coming to the camera, on the rear side of the phone, we get a triple camera setup. We get a 64MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens in that setup, an 8MP ultrawide sensor with an f/2.2 lens, and a 5MP depth sensor with an f/2.2 lens. On the front side, we get a single 32MP sensor with an f/2.0 lens. The front camera is placed in a water drop style notch at the top.

Like other M series devices, with the M21s, we also get a massive 6,000 mAh battery with support for proprietary fast charging. We get all the basics like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, Bluetooth v5.00, USB Type-C, 3G, and 4G in terms of connectivity. To Enable the Developer Option on your device, follow the below steps:

  • Go to the Settings menu of your Android device.
  • Then scroll down and go to About.
  • Now you need to head to Software Information>> More.
  • Here tap on Build Number 7-8 times until you see a message “You are now a developer”.

You also need to enable USB Debugging and OEM unlock option under the Developer Options menu. And to do that:

  • Head over to Developer Options and toggle ON the USB Debugging option as well as the OEM unlock option.

Unlock the bootloader

In order to install the TWRP Recovery, you have to first unlock the bootloader on Samsung Galaxy M21s.

Warning!

  • Once the device booted into TWRP Recovery mode, you need to decrypt the data partition. In order to do it: Go to Wipe > Format Data and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Then reboot to recovery mode again.
  • Now, flash the no-verity-opt-encrypt, Magisk, and RMM Bypass zip one-by-one to prevent boot loops.
  • That’s it. Reboot to the system finally. Enjoy!

Root Samsung Galaxy M21s Using Magisk

  1. Now you need to install the Magisk Manager APK on your phone.
  2. Place it in the internal memory on your device.
  3. Then head over to recovery by pressing the Volume up + Power button together.
  4. Make sure you have created a backup of your Samsung Galaxy M21s.
  5. In TWRP, select Install and locate Magisk.zip and select the file.
  6. Swipe to Install and flash it.
  7. Restart your device.
