Waterproof test results
Finally, after performing all the waterproof tests on both Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro, we are out with the results. As these devices come with a water-repellant coating on them, they do survive the water dropping, showering, and pouring tests with considerable scores.
However, after submerging the device for a couple of minutes underwater, we saw a few notable changes. Although the buttons were working with no issue, the display seem to lag repetitively. What’s worse is both the screens soaked water, which got spread through a large portion of the display.
This test is purely based on individual/team observation. This test will only give an idea of whether a device is waterproof or not. So users are advised not to try this at home, as it might damage your device.
By this, we can conclude that the Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro have features, good durability, and attractive specifications. The devices can survive accidental water and dust splashes quite comfortably. However, it is strictly advised not to use them underwater or in heavy rain, as that might damage the smartphone.
Conclusion
After performing all the water tests on the Redmi Note 9 and 9 Pro, we found out that they have a great resisting capability. They can repel accidental water splashes and survive minimal showers, but they neither hold any official waterproof IP rating nor do they out-stand underwater for long enough. They surely lack the special waterproofing technology and hence are advised to keep away from water, fire, dust, and other drastic environments.
