Though the title has received mostly positive reviews on Steam, it seems that the FIFA 22 Blue Screen Error is bothering a lot of PC players while launching.

Plenty of unfortunate players are experiencing the blue screen issue on the computer which may happen due to corrupted or missing game files in most cases. Whereas an outdated game version, issues with the system glitch, issues with the installed game directory, and sometimes issues with the hard drive can also trigger the blue screen.

Here we’ve mentioned some workarounds for you that are related to the game issues and might help you a lot. So, without further ado, let’s jump into it.

1. Reboot the PC

First of all, you should reboot the computer to refresh any kind of temporary system glitch that may occur reduction in system performance, or prevent other elements to run a program properly. Though it’s a basic workaround, you should try it out before going into any other methods.

2. Update FIFA 22

The second thing you can do is simply check for the game update at your end and install the same whenever available. An outdated game patch version eventually triggers multiple possible conflicts with the game launching on the PC. Otherwise, an outdated game version can also trouble a lot due to some bugs or stability issues. It’s better to follow the steps below and update the game properly.

For Steam:

  • Open the Steam client > Go to Library.
  • Click on FIFA 22 from the list of installed games on the left pane.

4. Update Windows

Sometimes an outdated Windows system can also cause multiple issues with the game running properly. You should always check for the update and install the same by following the steps below.

  • Press the Windows + I keys to open Windows Settings.

  • Wait for the update process to be completed.

  • Click on Windows Update from the left pane > Click on Advanced Options.

  • Click on Optional updates > If there is an update available, make sure to select the update.

5. Verify and Repair Game Files

The chances are high that somehow your installed game files become corrupted or missing and now you’re facing issues with the game launching on the PC. It’s recommended to follow the steps below to verify and repair the game files properly via Steam or Origin. It’ll automatically fix the problematic game files and make you eligible to run the game again without any interruption.

For Steam:

  • Launch the Steam client > Click on Library.
  • Right-click on FIFA 22 from the list of installed games.
  • Now, click on Properties > Go to Local Files.

6. Force Run DirectX 12

Some reports are also claiming that forcefully running the FIFA 22 game with DirectX 12 version on Windows can fix several issues with the launching or graphical glitches completely. But before that, you’ll need to change the DirectX value from the installed game directory. To do so:

  • Open File Explorer by pressing the Windows + E keys.
  • Now, go to Document > Open the FIFA 22 folder.
  • Right-click on the fifasetup.ini file > Select Open with > Click on Notepad.
  • Then check for the DIRECTX_SELECT value. If it’s set to 1 then change it to 0. [If it’s set to 0, change it to 1]
  • Finally, press the Ctrl + S keys to save the changes.

Next, you’ll need to follow the steps below to use launch options on Steam to forcefully run DirectX 12 for FIFA 22.

  • Open the Steam client > Click on Library.
  • Right-click on FIFA 22 > Select Properties.
  • On the General tab, you’ll find Launch Options.
  • Enter -dx12 into the launch options field.
  • Once done, close the launcher to apply changes.
  • Finally, launch FIFA 22, and check for the blue screen error again.

7. Perform a Clean Boot

In terms of the system performance, plenty of programs or services always running in the background without your knowledge including Microsoft services and some other third-party services. It’s better to disable all the third-party services from the background and perform a clean boot so that your system feels lightweight & performs better.

  • Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
  • Now, type msconfig and hit Enter to open System Configuration.
  • Go to the Services tab > Enable the Hide all Microsoft services checkbox.

  • Click on Disable all > Click on Apply and then OK to save changes.
  • Now, go to the Startup tab > Click on Open Task Manager.
  • Click on the Startup tab from Task Manager.
  • Make sure to click on the particular task which has a higher startup impact.
  • Once selected, click on Disable to turn it off. [Do the same steps for each program that has a higher startup impact]
  • Finally, make sure to restart your computer to apply changes.

8. Transfer Game to HDD

Some of the affected players have mentioned that transferring the installed game directory to a hard disk drive fixed the issue. Initially, they installed the FIFA 22 game on an SSD (Solid State Drive) which loads the game faster but can cause issues with the launching sequence.

9. Skip Playing FIFA 22 via EA Desktop App

Multiple players did try to play FIFA 22 with the EA Desktop application but somehow the game isn’t launching properly or crashes in most cases. So, you should skip playing FIFA 22 via the EA Desktop app.

10. Reinstall FIFA 22

For Steam:

  • Then open the Steam client > Search for FIFA 22 and install the game again on the different drive.

  • Finally, reinstall the FIFA 22 game properly on a different drive.
