How to Use message effects with iMessage: Bubble, full-screen and many more

Use Message Effects with iMessage

Messages with Screen Effect

  • Launch the Messages app on your iOS device.
  • And then open a conversation or start a new one.
  • Now, type in the message you want to send.
  • Next, touch and hold the arrow.
  • Next up, select the Screen tab at the top.
  • Up next, swipe left on the screen to access different effects like Spotlight, Balloons, Confetti, Heart, Lasers, Fireworks, Shooting Star and Celebration.
  • Once you have accessed the preferred option, hit the arrow button to send the message as usual.

Messages with Camera Effects

Camera Effect

  • Open Messages and create a new message.
  • Or go to an existing conversation.
  • Tap the camera button.
  • Tap the Effects button, then select Animoji*, Filters, Text, Shapes, Memoji Stickers, Emoji Stickers, or an iMessage app.
  • You can add more than one effect to a photo or video.
  • After you select the effect that you want to use, tap Done.
  • Tap to send or tap Done to add a personal message. If you don’t want to send the photo, tap [cross symbol] in the upper-right corner of the photo.

Messages with Bubble Effect

  • Launch the Messages app on your iOS device.
  • Now, open a conversation and type in the text you wish to send.
  • Next, touch and hold the arrow button.
  • On the next screen, ensure that the “Bubble” tab is selected at the top.
    Pick out how you wish to send the message from multiple options like Loud, Slam, Gentle and Invisible Ink. If you want to offer some security to your feeling, select Invisible Ink.
  • Up next, hit the arrow to send your message.

Note

One more thing worth noting is that if you use the Invisible Ink, you and your receiver will need to tap on the message to reveal the text.

Use full-screen effects to animate your screen with an echo, spotlight, and other effects:

  1. Open Messages and start a new message. Or go to an existing conversation.
  2. Enter your message.
  3. Touch and hold the arrow icon, then tap Screen.
  4. Swipe to the left to see full-screen effects.
  5. Tap the arrow icon to send.

Messages with Expressions

Expressions

  • Open a conversation in Messages.
  • Double-tap the message bubble or photo that you want to respond to.
  • Select the Tapback that you want to send.

Messages with Handwritten Text

Hand Written Text

  • Open Messages and start a new message.
  • Or go to an existing conversation.
  • If you have an iPhone, turn it sideways. If you have an iPad, tap [itallic r icon] on the keyboard.
  • Write your message or select one of the options at the bottom of the screen.
  • If you need to start over, tap Undo or Clear.
  • When you’re finished, tap Done. Then tap [arrow icon] to send.
