Realme had been dropping some great smartphones in 2020. They recently launched their Realme 5 & 5 Pro, which comes with splashproof ratings. And this time, they launched two more devices: Realme 6 & 6 Pro. Both of these devices are the essential success of Realme 5 & 5 Pro. And Realme has started giving their device waterproof and splashproof bodies, making them resistant to accidental splashes and other water damage. So customers are excited to know if the new Realme 6 & 6 Pro also have the same waterproof body design as the previous generation.

The new Realme 6 & 6 pro are obviously fantastic examples of smartphone engineering. A few months back, Realme launched Realme 5 & 5 Pro with a waterproof design. We already did Realme 5 waterproof test and Realme 5 pro waterproof test. Both of these results were satisfactory, and this time we will do realme 6 & 6 Pro waterproof test.

Realme has just updated the Realme 5 series with the Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro. The more affordable of the two is the Realme 6. Both are firsts for a budget Realme device and have been unheard of in the budget segment before now. This budget-oriented smartphone also packs in the powerful MediaTek Helio G90T (System on Chip) processor, which was only available in the Redmi Note 8 Pro. But customers are more interested in knowing about both these devices’ waterproof specifications. So today, we will conduct the Realme 6 & 6 Pro waterproof test to determine whether they can withstand water damage.

Making a waterproof device is not as easy as making a regular phone. Realme 6 might be waterproof due to non-removable back cover and a tight sim-tray. Waterproof phones are considered to be dust resistant also.

People nowadays love to buy waterproof devices due to the fact that they can be used underwater. These smartphones can be used underwater or in any dust prone regions. Due to the fact that they cannot be damaged easily. People also like to take underwater photos and shoot documentaries which is important for their profession.

We have checked with some official sources but no IP68 or other waterproof ratings are found for these devices. Also, there is no mentioning of splashproof or waterproof body design on the official Realme website. So we need to do a thoro Realme 6 & 6 pro waterproof test to find out the rest.

Realme 6 Device Specifications

realme 6 was launched on 5th March 2020 and it comes with a massive 6.5-inch touchscreen with a punch-hole camera. The display resolution in 1080 by 2400 pixels. The device is powered by a 2.05 GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio G90T processor. realme 6 comes with 4 GB of RAM & 64 GB & 128 GB storage variants with expandable storage options. It comes with the latest Android 10 out of the box ad it powered by 4300 mAh battery and supports proprietary fast charging.

Coming to the camera department, it has a quad-camera system which makes it a photo-centric smartphone. The rear packs a 64 MP camera, a second 8 MP camera, a third camera with 2 MP for depth sensing and a fourth camera with 2MP resolution. For selfie enthusiasts, it has 16 MP front camera with f2.0 aperture.

Connectivity options on the Realme 6 include Wi-Fi, 4G, 3G with active 4G on both SIM cards. You get plenty of sensors including accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor.

Realme 6 doesn’t come with any official IP68 waterproof ratings. So we can’t be sure whether Relame 6 is waterproof or not. So we will conduct the Realme 6 waterproof test.

In our waterproof test, we will dip the device in a bowl filled with half water for 1:30 minutes. So we can say that this device is really tough, indestructible and great and passes or water test.

realme 6 was launched on 5th March 2020 and it comes with a massive 6.6-inch touchscreen with a punch-hole camera. The display resolution in 1080 by 2400 pixels. The device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor. Realme 6 Pro comes with 6 GB of RAM & 64 GB & 128 GB storage variants with expandable storage options. It comes with the latest Android 10 out of the box and it is powered by 4300 mAh battery and supports proprietary fast charging.

Coming to the camera department, it has a quad-camera system which makes it a photo-centric smartphone. Conclusion

When the matter comes to waterproofing, these devices are not officially waterproof. However, they are splashproof and dustproof to some extent. Both of these devices can handle any accidental water splashes. But users should keep their devices away from water just to be safe.

As a conclusion, we can say that both the Realme 6 & Realme 6 Pro are not actually waterproof. However, they are both dustproof and splashproof to some extent.
