The Chinese OEM OnePlus has released its much-awaited two new flagship killer models named the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, with all the premium hardware specifications, stunning designs, better cameras, and OxygenOS 10 (Android 10) out-of-the-box. OnePlus has already released a couple of software updates for both of its devices. Due to the OTA rollout process over the server and carriers, it’s quite possible that some of the users may not receive the OTA update notification on their handsets. Therefore, some of the users can also miss out on the latest firmware update. OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro Specs

The OnePlus 8 comes with a 6.55-inches Fluid AMOLED display with 1080×2400 pixels resolution that has a 20:9 aspect ratio, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, HDR10+, 90Hz refresh rate, etc. It packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, Adreno 650 GPU, 8GB/12GB RAM, 128GB/256GB internal storage, etc. While the handset runs on Android 10 over OxygenOS 10. It sports a 4,300mAh battery with 30W fast charging support.

The OnePlus 8 features a triple rear camera setup of a 48MP (f/1.8, wide), a 16MP (f/2.2, ultrawide), a 2MP (f/2.4, macro) lens with PDAF, HDR, OIS, Dual-LED flash, Panorama, etc. While the front packs a 16MP (f/2.0, Wide) selfie camera with Auto-HDR, gyro-EIS, etc. It sports dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, Type-C port, etc. While there are some sensors available such as an in-display fingerprint sensor, an ambient light, an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity, compass sensor.

While the big brother OnePlus 8 Pro also has similar kinds of specifications with some changes as follows. The Pro model has a bigger 6.78-inches display with 1440×3168 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate, quad rear cameras of a 48MP (f/1.8, wide), an 8MP (f/2.4, telephoto), a 48MP (f/2.2, ultrawide), a 5MP (f/2.4, depth) lens with omnidirectional PDAF, Laser AF, OIS, HDR, Dual-LED flash, Panorama. On the front side, it has a 16MP (f/2.5, wide) selfie camera. It also packs a 4,510mAh battery with 30W fast charging. The rest of the features are the same.

Check Software Update

  • Head over to the device Settings > Tap on system > Select system updates.
  • Tap on check for updates. If there is an update available, just tap on DOWNLOAD&INSTALL NOW.
  • Once done, your device will reboot automatically into the new software version.
  • Make sure that your device has enough battery level and connected to a Wi-Fi network.
