Tips to increase signal strength:
- If there’s even a small section of the cable close to any electronic equipment (except the TV and Set-top box), it can cause interference of the signal that can decrease the signal strength. Sometimes the TV completely loses the signal.
- The antenna cable directly connected to the TV has a stronger signal and better picture quality.
- Always use a shielded cable. If you are already using one of this type, ensure that the metallic shield and the center core are not touching.
- Make sure that the cable is not bent. It can reduce the signal quality by some margin.
- A strong wind can change the direction of the antenna. If you remember the exact direction of the antenna set by the engineer, that’s awesome. Just go to the roof and fix the direction of the antenna; otherwise, call the company to send an engineer.
Solution 4: Restart the TV
Restarting the device often fixes signal-related issues, assuming that the direction of the antenna has not been changed and there’s no hardware defect. A simple restart refreshes the system processes and then often does the trick. Hence, restart your TV and check if the problem is fixed. You can either use the remote buttons to restart the device or simply remove the power cable from the wall socket and plug it back.
Solution 5: Update Firmware Version
If your Philips Smart TV is running old or outdated firmware, this could be the reason why you are getting the No Signal error message. You should install the latest firmware version. Not only when a problem surfaces, but it’s also always recommended to have the latest firmware version for a better experience.
To update the firmware version, follow these steps:
- Press the Settings button on the remote.
- Navigate to the All settings option and press the OK button on the remote.
- From the left-side menu, select Update Software and click OK.
- Go to Search for update and press the OK button on the remote.
- Select Start and press the OK button.
- Select Accept and press the OK button.
- Wait until the software update installation is complete, and then reboot the device.
Solution 6: Update All Channels
Here’s how you can update all the channels on your Philips Smart TV:
- Press the Home button on the remote.
- Navigate to the Setup option and press the OK button on the remote.
- Select Search for channels and then select the Update channels option.
- Select Start and click the OK button.
Once all the channels have been updated, open any channel on your TV and check if the No Signal problem is fixed.
Solution 7: Reinstall All Channels
Here’s how to re-install all DVB-C channels on your Philips Smart TV:
- Press Home on the remote and select Setup.
- Navigate to the Channel installation option and press the OK button on the remote.
- Go to Reinstall all channels -> [Select country] -> Antenna DVB-C -> Settings -> Frequency scan.
- Now, navigate to the Full scan option and press OK.
Alternative Method:
- Press the Settings button on the remote control of the TV.
- Navigate to the All settings option and press the OK button on the remote.
- Now, Go to Antenna/Cable Installation and select Search for Channels.
- Select Start and press the OK button.
If you’ve reached this point, I assume none of the solutions have worked for you. There’s likely some hardware fault. Sometimes, the problem does not occur on our end. The broadcasting company might face some problem on their end, due to which you are getting no signal. Although this doesn’t happen quite often, chances are always there.
In both conditions, tweaking the device settings or doing anything with the wire won’t work. You should contact Philips customer support and ask for a resolution.
