How to Fix Razer Cynose Chroma not detected on Synapse error?

We will start with the easy fixes first and then move to somewhat complicated ones.

Change the USB port:

If you have only tried connecting the USB of your keyboard to one slot, try switching to another. There might be something wrong with the port you are using. Try changing it to a different one and check whether the device is detected on Synapse or not.

If you still do not see the keyboard on the application, try the next solution mentioned below.

Try a different computer:

You can try connecting your keyboard to a different computer other than yours as a verification. You can contact a friend of yours that uses Razer accessories and try connecting your keyboard to his system. If it shows up on his computer, the problem is with your system, and you can go ahead with the solutions mentioned below.

However, if the keyboard does not show up even in your friend’s system, then the fault is with your keyboard, and the best thing to do in that case would be to change or replace the keyboard from where you bought it.

Disable the antivirus program:

In some cases, the third-party antivirus program installed on a computer can block out several accessories connected to it, assuming it to be a threat to the system. With your Razer Cynosa Chroma, that might be the case too. So try disabling your antivirus and check whether the keyboard is detected after that or not.

To disable the antivirus program, open up the antivirus program on your computer and find the setting that lets you disable the real-time protection. Once you do that, disconnect the keyboard and then connect it to your computer again.

Now check whether the Chrome keyboard shows up on Synapse or not. If you still do not see the keyboard on the application, try a different solution mentioned below.

Reinstall the application:

The Synapse application installed on your system might have some inconsistencies. If you install it again, that should iron out all the problems associated with it. But before installing it again, you first need to remove the older version.

Once the older version is wholly removed, install the new version and try it again. Let’s see how one can remove the application first.

  • Press Windows Key + R to open up the Run dialog box.
  • Enter “appwiz.cpl” in the Run dialog box and press Enter. This will open up the installed application window.
  • Find Razer Synapse in this window and click on it.
  • Then right-click on it and choose Uninstall.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation process.
  • Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Razer and check the box next to hidden items at the top of your window.
  • Delete all the files that you find in this folder.
  • Navigate to C:\Program Data\Razer and check the box next to hidden items at the top of your window.
  • Delete all the files that you find in this folder as well.
  • Now, restart your computer.

Now, to install the latest version, download the setup file for it from Razer’s official website. Make sure to download the latest version here.

Once you have the setup file, run it on your system and install it on your computer like any other application.

Once the installation is done, restart your computer.

Now, connect the keyboard to your system again. If the app still does not detect the keyboard, try the next solution mentioned below.

Update the drivers:

Mostly, problems associated with accessories connected to a computer are related to the drivers for the device. If you have outdated or faulty drivers for the device installed on your computer, the computer will have issues recognizing it.

So you need to update the drivers on your computer from time to time. And you can update the drivers manually or automatically.

To update the drivers manually,

  • Press Windows Key + R to open up the Run dialog box.
  • Enter “devmgmt.msc” in the Run dialog box and press Enter. It will open up the device manager.
  • In the device manager, you will see the list of devices connected to your system. Find the one responsible for the Razer Chroma keyboard and right-click on it.
  • Then choose Update driver.
  • Then follow the on-screen instruction to update the driver using the web or a setup file present in your system.

And to update the driver automatically, you need to download and install a third-party driver utility tool that will scan your computer for any missing drivers. If it detects any such devices, it will install the latest version right away. But these applications do charge a bit for their service. However, this is a worthwhile investment as you never need to worry about any drivers in your system ever again.

Once the latest drivers for your device are installed, restart your computer.

Now, connect the keyboard to your system again. If the app still does not detect the keyboard, try the next solution mentioned below.

Reinstall the drivers:

As a final measure, you can try reinstalling the drivers on your system.
