Red Dead Redemption 2 Prairie Poppy Locations Guide

Red Dead Redemption is one of the popular titles from the house of Rockstar Games that has given us so many memorable games like the GTA (Grand Theft Auto) series. Back in 2018, Rockstar Games released the third installment of the Red Dead Redemption series and is a prequel to the Red Dead Redemption game that was launched back in 2010. Well, Rockstar is known for taking their sufficient time before bringing in a new game, and boy, they do great.

The Red Dead Redemption 2 game was developed and released by Rockstar Games and is available all platforms including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and Microsoft Windows. It is an open-world action-adventure game where you have to survive through the in-game missions and plots. If you have been playing the Red Dead Redemption 2 game, then you might are probably aware of the game’s mechanics. Most of the best weapons, ammunition, and other consumables are required to be gathered and crafted.

And one such thing is the Prairie Poppy, which is one of the handiest items in the game for crafting something dangerous. It is very important for both, local play and online gameplay. And if you also have been wondering what is the location from where I can get the Prairie Poppy? Then, you are at the right place, as in this post, we will be giving you an in-depth guide on what is Prairie Poppy, its advantages, and the location from where you can grab the item. What is Prairie Poppy?

As you might know, there are several tools that you can make use of in the Red Dead Redemption 2 game to make anything useful, from weapons to any other tool. Prarie Poppy is one such item that you can make use to create snake oil. And what does this snake oil do? It basically refills your dead eye meter to full. In the initial stages of the game, your dead eye will be fairly weak and drain out very quickly. But, crafting snake oil using this Pirarie Poppy will make it last longer and more deadly against bandits and legendary animals.

Advantages

As Red Dead Wiki explains, “Prairie Poppies are little yellow flowers on top of tiny green bushes.” You have better chances of spotting them in bright daylights when the sun is up. You can combine Prairie Poppy with Wild Feverfew to make undead bait which can help you complete the Survivor mission “Biographies and Lies”. If you are playing the survivalist challenge then, 12 Prairie Poppy are required to get Survival Challenge Rank 8, and 2 additional Poppy are required to get Rank 10.

Location

The native location of Prairie Poppy in the Red Dead Redemption game is in the Great Plains and West Elizabeth. Predominantly, they are found near the locations of the Blackwater. They are pretty easier to detect as they are yellow in color and you can easily spot them. Try to check the areas around the train track as they are scattered all over the place.

However, note that during the early hours of your gameplay, you will have a high bounty on your head near the areas of the Blackwater, making it pretty hard for you to head searching for the prairie poppy. So, it is advised that you take your horse for a speedy runaway if in a situation demanding escape. The Great Plains also do not unlock and are available only after a considerable part of the game is completed. So, you have to look for the poppies near the Blackwater better. Note that in Red Dead Online, you can freely explore the Blackwater and gather all the Prairie poppies.

So, there you have it from my side in this post. I hope you guys liked this post and were able to look out and gather the prairie poppy that is pretty essential for snake oil preparation. Let us know in the comments below if you come across any issues with the above-explained guide and which other items you want a complete location guide of. Until the next post…Cheers!
