As we checked with the official sources from Huawei Honor 9X and 9X devices, no official waterproof IP68 ratings are there for these smartphones. Since the new Honor 9X doesn’t have any official IP68 waterproof rating, it can not be considered as a waterproof device. However, it might be waterproof and splashproof as well. So in our test, we will test whether the device can hold itself under a splashproof and waterproof test.
After conducting the splashproof test, the device seems to work fine. However, camera mechanics gets slow and malfunctions as well. This indicates that the device is not splashproof and a slight water splash can damage your device. The same happens in a waterproof test as I/O ports including charging port and front earpiece stops working.

Since the new Honor 9X Pro doesn’t have any official IP68 waterproof rating, it can not be considered as a waterproof device. However, it might be waterproof and splashproof as well. So in our test, we will test whether the device can hold itself under a splashproof and waterproof test.
Since the outer body of Honor 9X Pro is essentially the same as 9X, so it has the same design flows which makes it non-waterproof. The device also can’t sustain itself in a raining environment making it vulnerable to water splashes or juice spills. The device is certainly not splashproof or waterproof by any means.
