OPPO has unveiled its new smartphone Oppo A72 back on April 21. It comes with a 6.53 inch IPS display, Snapdragon 665, 4/8GB RAM, 128GB ROM, quad rear cameras, and runs on Android 10. The device will receive the official Android 11 (ColorOS 8) update.

The Oppo A72 sports 6.53 inches IPS LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution, and a punch hole to the left. That said, it has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It has an aspect ratio of 20:9, and a pixel density of 405 Pixel Per Inches (PPI).

Underneath the Oppo A72, it sports the tried and tested Qualcomm Snapdragon 665, which we have seen on a dozen of phones. This SoC is built on the 11mm process, and the octa-core setup includes four Kryo 260 Gold cores clocked at 2.0GHz, and the other four Kyro 260 Silver cores clocked at 1.8GHz. To the GPU side, this SoC pairs with the Adreno 610 GPU.

Coming to the memory options available in this device, it is available with four and 8GB of RAM. And, both these variants come with 128GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage. Further, this onboard storage is also expandable via a micro SD card up to 256GB. The smartphone runs on the latest Color OS 7.1 that is based on Android 10.

Talking about optics, the Oppo A72 comes with a quad rear camera setup that is arranged vertically in a rectangle. This quad rear camera setup includes a 48MP primary sensor with an aperture value of f/1.8 and with PDAF. This primary sensor gets assisted by a secondary 8MP ultra wide-angle sensor with an aperture value of f/2.2 and a tertiary 2MP macro sensor with an f/2.4 aperture value. Finally, it also gets a 2MP depth sensor with an aperture value of f/2.4. The device also gets support for the LED flash, HDR photos, and can shoot videos even in 4K resolution. To the front, the device gets a 16MP sensor with an aperture value of f/2.0.

The Oppo A72 comes with a 5,000 mAh battery, which charges over a USB type C port. The device also comes with support for 18W Qualcomm Quick Charge tech. Talking about the biometric options available in this device, it has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and as well as support for face unlock. The device is available in two color options, namely the Green and Blue. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0, A2DP, LE. GPS with A-GPS, BDS. And USB 2.0, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector. Sensors other than the fingerprint scanner include accelerometer, proximity, and compass.
