2. Perform a Factory Reset on Roomba

If you think there is a system glitch with the Roomba then make sure to perform a factory reset on your Roomba cleaner by following the steps below.

For 700/800/900 series:

  • Press and hold the CLEAN button on your robot for around 10 seconds.
  • Then release the button and your Roomba will turn on with a tone.

For S series:

  • Press and hold the CLEAN button on your robot for 20 seconds.
  • Then release the button and the light ring around the bin lid will swirl clockwise in white color.

For I series:

  • Press and hold the CLEAN button on your robot for 20 seconds.
  • Release the button and the light ring will swirl clockwise in white color.
  • It may take up to a couple of minutes to turn on your robot.

For 500/600 series:

  • Turn off the Roomba cleaner > Remove the Roomba vacuum from the charging dock.
  • Press and hold both the DOCK and SPOT buttons at the same time to make sure that the green light turns off.
  • Then you will have to wait for 10 seconds at least.
  • Now, quickly release the buttons once you see the green light goes off.
  • You’ll hear the beep sound which indicates your Roomba vacuum is going to boot.
  • Then put your Roomba back to its charging dock and wait until the green light appears. If you’re not sure whether your robot cleaner has rebooted or not, just press the CLOCK button.
  • If you see all the clock settings are cleared that means the robot cleaner has been reset completely.

3. Keep the Home Base Closer to Router

You’ll need to place your Roomba home base close to the Wi-Fi router for better connectivity and signal strength. If the home base is in another place or has enough distance between them, it may cause connectivity or stability issues with the internet connection whatsoever.

4. Use Wi-Fi 2.4GHz Band Only

Also, try using Wi-Fi 2.4GHz band only on the Wi-Fi router to get a stable signal than using the 5GHz Wi-Fi band.

5. Connect Roomba to Power Socket

Make sure to connect your iRobot Roomba cleaner to the power socket to check whether there is an issue with the connectivity or not. It will ensure that your Roomba cleaner is turned on and connected to the power properly.

6. Power Cycle Wi-Fi Router

Try performing the power cycle of your router to clear out networking glitches. To do so:

  • Turn off the router first > Unplug the power cable from the socket.
  • Wait for around 30 seconds and then plug back in the power cable.
  • Turn on the router and check for the Wi-Fi connectivity issue.

7. Contact iRobot Support

If nothing works for you then try contacting iRobot Support for further assistance. Whereas if your cleaner is under warranty then it’ll be much easier for you to get it repaired or replaced.
