Fix: Steam Deck Battery Stuck at 99, 90, or 0

Solution 1: Reboot Your Device
This solution may sound trivial, but still, it works as magic in certain situations. You should therefore go ahead and reboot your Steam Deck to see if this solution can fix the battery issues on the device.
To reboot your device, press and hold the power button for three seconds. It should trigger a normal reboot. In case it does not work out, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to force reboot the device. Once done, plug in the adapter and check if the problem is fixed.
Solution 2: Put the Steam Deck into Shipment Mode
This solution has worked like a charm for dozens of users. They were able to fix the battery issues on their Deck by putting the device into Shipment mode. Once you’ve put the device into this mode, you need to connect the charger to your Steam Deck and turn it on.
To put the Steam Deck into Shipment mode, first power off your device. Now, press and hold the volume up (+) button and press the power button. Your device should boot to the selection screen. Click Setup Utility in the lower-right corner and then tap on Power. Now, select Battery Storage Mode to enter into the Shipping mode.

Solution 3: Update Your Deck
The charging issues on your Steam Deck may have been caused by a software bug or system glitch. The latest software version might include a fix for it, and therefore you should check if an update is available. Here are the steps you need to follow:
- Press the Steam button and select Settings.
- Tap on System from the left menu.
- Click Check For Updates. The device will not look for updates.
- Tap on the Apply button. You will see the button only if an update is available. If you do not see the button, that means your device is already running on the latest version.
- You may need to Restart your device to install the latest update.
Solution 4: Factory Reset the Device
You can perform a factory reset on your Steam Deck to fix software issues that could be causing problems with the battery percentage on the device. Before I tell you the steps, it’s important to note that factory resetting removes all the data from the device.
To factory reset your Deck, follow these steps:
- Press the Steam Deck button and select System.
- Scroll down to Advanced Settings. Tap on it.
