Two years before, the brand came with its refreshed “A” series devices. And back on March 18, the brand announced new Galaxy A41. This is the successor for the Galaxy A40, which was unveiled last year. Today we will guide you on how to unlock Bootloader on Samsung Galaxy A41 if you want to install any custom Recovery or want to root your device. Then the first step in doing so is unlocking the bootloader of your device. So today, in this article, we will guide you through the process of unlocking the bootloader on Samsung Galaxy A41.

Samsung Galaxy A41 is the latest smartphone by Samsung. With decent specs and unique design, Galaxy A41 is the center of attraction of major developers and Android enthusiasts. Being an Android enthusiast or a developer, you might want to unlock the bootloader of your Samsung Galaxy A41. After unlocking the bootloader of your device, you can install a custom recovery, root your device, install custom ROM and much more.

What is Bootloader?

A Bootloader is a code that runs when we turn on our device. This code initializes some hardware and then loads the kernel and ramdisk, and gets the boot process going. So this process is known as bootloader. The same concept applies to all the technical stuff such as laptops, PC, Smartphones, and any such device. Every Android OEM manufacturers lock the bootloader even though it is an Open Source. So if you want to try any CUSTOM ROM, it is impossible to load the CUSTOM ROM without the Unlock Bootloader.

Device Specification

Before heading to the process of unlocking bootloader of Galaxy A41, let’s take a quick look at the device specification:

The Samsung Galaxy A41 sports a 6.1 inches Super AMOLED Infinity U display with a Full HD+ resolution i.e. with 1080 x 2400 pixels. It has an aspect ratio of 20:9, a pixel density of 461 Pixel Per Inch ( PPI ). Coming to the protection for the front, the brand doesn’t specify about it. It has a plastic back, so no protection to the back of the device. Under the display has also an in-display optical fingerprint scanner. Interestingly this device comes with IP68 protection. This means that the device can withstand up to 1.5 for 30 minutes. This is a much-appreciated feature for mid-range smartphones. Coming to the internals of Galaxy A41, it sports the MediaTek P65 SoC and this SoC is built on the 12nm process. It is rare that Samsung uses MediaTek SoCs for its smartphones.

Even though they use Snapdragon SoCs for their flagships which aren’t available everywhere. Some mid-range smartphones also get Snapdragon SoCs like the Galaxy A70, A71, and so on. This octa-core Helio P65 includes two Cortex A75 cores which clock at 2.0 GHz, other six lower Cortex A55 cores which clock at 1.7 GHz. To the GPU side, it has the ARM Mali G52 MC2 GPU. Talking about memory options, it is available only in a single variant. That said, it is available in 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage. Further, this is also expandable via the micro SD card up to 512GB. The device has a dedicated SIM card slot for this.

Coming to the optics, the Samsung Galaxy A41 has a triple rear camera setup which is arranged vertically to the top left of the device along with the flash. This triple rear camera setup includes a primary 48MP sensor with an f/1.7 aperture value and with PDAF. This sensor pairs with a secondary 8MP ultra wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture value. And finally, it gets a tertiary 5MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture value. To the front, the device gets a 25MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture value. The rear can shoot videos up to 2160 @ 30fps and the front can shoot up to 1080 @ 30fps. On the software front, it runs on the One UI 2.0 based on Android 10.

The Samsung Galaxy A41 packs a 3,500 mAh battery which charges over a USB type C port. And it also supports for 15W fast charging tech from the brand. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0, A2DP, LE, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, NFC, and USB 2.0, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector. Other sensors in this smartphone include accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, and ANT+. This device is available in three color options namely the Black, White, and Blue.

Steps to Unlock Bootloader on Samsung Galaxy A41

  1. First of all, Enable Developer Mode on the Galaxy A41  
  2. Launch the Settings application
  3. Scroll down and tap on the Developer Options option
  4. Toggle the OEM Unlock option on 
  5. Confirm by tapping the enable option. 
  6. Power off your device. Press Volume Up + Volume Down and plug in your device to a PC to boot into download mode
  7. When you enter download mode, Long press Volume Up button to unlock the bootloader. Remember this process will erase everything on your device.

    Note:

    Unlocking the bootloader will wipe all your data from your device. Make sure to take a complete backup of your phone before doing the next step.
  8. Your device will reboot.
  9. That’s it! You have unlocked the bootloader on your Galaxy A41.
