Updated on August 05, 2020: Today Asus started rolling a new security patch update for the Asus Zenfone 5 with software version 16.0615.2006.131.
Updated on May 28, 2020: Today Asus rolled the May 2020 security patch update for the Asus Zenfone 5 with version 16.0615.2005.130 16.0615.2005.130. This update also fixes the display issue in which users were experiencing the older version.
Updated on April 22, 2020: The Asus ZenFone 5 (ZE620KL) is receiving the February 2020 Security Patch update that bumps up a new software version of WW-16.0615.2020.126 based on Android 9.0 Pie. If you’re interested to upgrade to this version, you can download and install it by following the guide.
As the firmware update is rolling out via OTA in a phased manner from the server-side, it may take some days to get the FOTA update completely. It only brings the latest Android Security Patchset that improves the system security and fixes some bugs for stable performance.
Check OTA Update
Due to the incremental update roll-out process, it’s quite possible that not all the users may receive this update at the same time. So, the Asus ZenFone 5 users should check for the OTA update manually via Settings > System > System updates.
If there is a new system update is available, you should download and install it manually. Make sure to connect your phone to a Wi-Fi network and the device is charged up to 50% at least before downloading the OTA update.
