Both the devices launched this year with great specs and an attractive price tag; however, as you may already know Mi11 Lite and Mi 11 Lite 5G both the devices come with Android 11 on top of MIUI 12.5 out of the box. Both the device launched this year with an AMOLED, 1B colors, HDR10, 90Hz, 500 nits (typ), 800 nits display along with corning gorilla glass 5 in Mi11 Lite and corning gorilla glass 6 in 5G variant.

However, both the devices are compelling as Mi11 Lite comes with a Qualcomm SM7150 Snapdragon 732G (8 nm) processor, which is an Octa-core processor (2×2.3 GHz Kryo 470 Gold & 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 470 Silver) along with Adreno 618. While on the other hand, Mi11 Lite 5G is compiled with the powerful Qualcomm SM7350-AB Snapdragon 780G (5 nm), which is an Octa-core processor along with Adreno 642.

Also, in the storage and RAM section, you do not need to compromise as both the devices have several variants such as 64GB/4GB RAM, 64GB/6GB RAM, 128GB/6GB RAM, and 128GB/8GB RAM. But, yes, in Mi11 Lite 5G, you will get an extra variant 256GB/8GB RAM.

How to Install AOSP Android 13 on Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 4G and 5G (courbet/renoir)

As the title suggests, we’ve shared the requirements and steps to flash the AOSP Android 13 build on the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 4G and 5G (courbet/renoir) variant.

Before heading over to the guide, make sure to follow all the requirements below.

Pre-Requisites

Before we begin with this procedure, I would strongly recommend you create a backup of your device storage and all your files stored on your device. Moreover, following the steps mentioned in this post carefully is advised to avoid permanent damage or bricking your device.

Charge Your Phone

It’s highly recommended to charge your handset before unlocking the bootloader to avoid your device from shutting down occasionally while going through the process. Make sure to keep at least 50% of charge or higher for a smooth operation.

Download ADB and Fastboot Binaries

You can skip this adb and fastboot part if you have already installed TWRP Recovery on your Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 4G and 5G.

Using the ADB and Fastboot command (platform-tools), you’ll be able to boot your Android device into the bootloader mode (download mode), which will be easy for you to proceed with further steps. ADB (Android Debug Bridge) creates a connection or bridge between the device and computer to sideload files.

Unlock Bootloader Your Phone:

You must first unlock the bootloader on your Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 4G and 5G to enjoy any custom ROM.

Download Android 13 Gapps:

It’s worth mentioning that most of the third-party AOSP (Android Open Source Project) ROMs (also known as aftermarket firmware) come without any preinstalled Google apps package. You can manually install the Android 13 GApps by following our guide.

Instructions to Install:

  1. Connect your device to the PC via USB cable. Make sure USB Debugging is enabled.
  2. Then head over to the platform-tools folder, type in CMD in the address bar, and hit Enter. This will launch the Command Prompt.

  3. Execute the below command in the CMD window or enter recovery mode by using the Volume and Power button combination. your device to TWRP Recovery:
    adb reboot recovery
  4. Now head over to the Install section and navigate to the downloaded vendor and firmware. Perform a right swipe to flash it.twrp-custom-romTWRP Home
  5. If you want Google Apps as well, then you need to flash it at this instance itself. Go to Install, select the GApps ZIP file, and perform a right swipe to flash this file.
  6. When that is done, you may reboot your device. Head over to Reboot and select System.

Will Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 4G and 5G Get Android 13 Update?

According to Xiaomi’s official blog, the company is committed to delivering 3 major Android OS updates and 4 years of Android Security Patches. Well, the Mi 11 Lite 4G and 5G came out of the box with Android 11 based on MIUI 13, and recently it has received its first major OS update to Android 12 on top of MIUI 13. There is no info on whether Xiaomi will roll out the Android 13 anytime soon. However, if you are here to know the exact date, we regret it because no such news is currently coming out from the official’s side. But, it is confirmed that by the end of 2023, you’ll for sure get the update.
