What is the Benefit of a Custom ROM?

Though smartphone OEMs don’t allow their device users to use unlimited customizations on stock firmware, having custom firmware can satisfy most expectations. It’s worth mentioning that custom firmware runs on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP), which offers a wide range of device compatibility. In case you want a newer Android OS version, you can use the GSI (Generic System Image) file on any of your Project Treble devices.

Regarding the benefits, an unsupported Android device can also run the latest operating system with most of its features with the help of Project Treble by Google. So, there is no need to worry about being added to the compatibility list. A Custom ROM offers plenty of customization, visual changes, tweaks, etc. Moreover, aftermarket firmware brings minimum bloatware, rooting access, improving performance, etc. Most importantly, the user interface comes in a clean, vanilla pure Android.

One thing we should mention is that you may experience stability issues and bugs on Custom ROMs, no matter how stable they are claimed to be. So, keep that in mind before jumping into custom firmware.
