Fix: Escape from Tarkov Stuck on Loading Screen

It seems that there may be several possible reasons behind the stuck-on loading screen issue for the PC games that may bother you a lot. Sometimes game server connectivity or the internet issue or even game file-related issues might gonna trouble you a lot. In some scenarios, the antivirus blocking issue or an outdated graphics driver, or overlay apps, etc can also trigger such issues. Luckily, we’ve shared all the possible workarounds below that should work.

1. Run the game as an administrator

You should run the Escape from Tarkov game exe application file on the Windows PC as an administrator to avoid user account control-related issues. To do this:

Right-click on the Escape from Tarkov exe shortcut file on your PC.

Now, select Properties > Click on the Compatibility tab.

Make sure to click on the Run this program as an administrator checkbox to checkmark it.

2. Update GPU Driver

Once done, make sure to reboot your computer to change effects.

Otherwise, you can manually download the latest version of the graphics driver and install it directly on your PC via the official manufacturer’s website. Make sure to select the exact graphics card model number to download the file. So, Nvidia graphics card users can go to the Nvidia official site and AMD graphics card users can visit the AMD website.

3. Power Cycle on your Wi-Fi Router

It’s recommended to perform a power cycle on your Wi-Fi router to refresh the internet connection whatsoever. Sometimes issues with the network connectivity may cause several problems with the game server or the game doesn’t load completely. Make sure to turn off the router and unplug the power cable from it. Then wait for around 30 seconds and plug back the power cable in. Now, turn on the router, and connect to the internet to check for the issue.

4. Disable Security Programs

Click on the Start Menu > Type firewall.
Select Windows Defender Firewall from the search result.
Now, click on Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off from the left pane.
A new page will open > Select the Turn off Windows Defender Firewall (not recommended) option for both the Private & Public Network Settings.
Once selected, click on OK to save changes.

Then make sure to disable the antivirus program on the PC temporarily by following the steps below:

Press Windows + I keys to open the Windows Settings menu.
Click on Update & Security > Click on Windows Security from the left pane.
Now, click on the Open Windows Security button.
Go to Virus & threat protection > Click on Manage settings.
Next, you’ll need to simply turn off the Real-time protection toggle.
If prompted, click on Yes to proceed further.

6. Check for Server Status

Make sure to check for the server status of the Escape from Tarkov game by visiting the third-party Down Detector website from this link. Sometimes issues with the game server like downtime or outage or even the maintenance process may cause the game crashes or stuck on the loading screen issues. At the time of writing this article, we can see that there is an issue with the game server, and a lot of players are getting affected by this.

7. Run Compatibility Troubleshooter

If none of the methods worked for you then try running the compatibility troubleshooter on the PC with the Escape from Tarkov game. To do so:

First of all, exit the Escape from Tarkov game > Launch the Battle State Games launcher.
Go to the launcher Settings menu > Make sure to select ‘When I launch the Game: Keep the Launcher window open’.
Now, launch the Escape from Tarkov game > If you get stuck on the loading screen once again, just press the Ctrl+Alt+Del keys to open Task Manager.
Go to the Details tab > Locate the EscapeFromTarkov.exe application task from the list.
Right-click on the particular task and click on Properties.
Next, leave the Properties window opened, and go back to the Task Manager.
Right-click on the EscapeFromTarkov.exe application file > Click on End Task.
Click on the End Process button > Then go back to the Properties window.
Go to the Compatibility tab > Click on the ‘Run compatibility troubleshooter’ button.
Click on ‘Try recommended settings’ and test the program.
Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the troubleshooting process.
