How to Install OnePlus Sans Font on Any Rooted Android Phone

Android devices with root access always enjoy additional goodies compared to their non-rooted variants. No wonder most Android enthusiasts sport a rooted device with them. Root access allows them to use unique and new features on an Android phone. Recently, OnePlus dropped the OxygenOS 11 beta for OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro phones. The new OS is based on Android 11. The latest system upgrade also introduces a new font along with new features. It is the OnePlus Sans Font.

Officially, as of now, only the OnePlus 8 series devices can enjoy the new font. Until the new OxygenOS rolls out to other eligible OnePlus devices, root access is the only way these devices can use the Oneplus Sans font. In this guide, I explained a Magisk module that rooted OnePlus users must flash on their devices. This will allow them to use the new Sans font. Along with the OnePlus Devices, you can also use this Magisk module on other rooted Android devices.

The new font is a bit sleeker in appearance and feels vibrant than its precursor. Talking about the Magisk module, it has been developed by XDA members NeFeron and Venky. I have put up the download link for both the available version(v1.2 being the latest) of the Magisk modules. All you have to do is sideload the magisk module and reboot your OnePlus device to enable the new OnePlus Sans font.

NOTE: Before installing the Magisk module make sure to take a complete backup of your Android device just to be on the safer side. In case, any technical snag happens, you can use the backup to retrieve your valuable data and information stored on the device.

Download Magisk Module

  • OnePlus Sans Font Magisk Module | v1.1 | v1.2 [zip file]

For Magisk module installation, follow the simple steps below.

  • When you download the Magisk module zip file it will save to the phone’s storage
  • Open the Magisk Manager app on your device
  • At the bottom of the app screen, tap on the Module icon
  • Then tap on Install from Storage > browse for the OnePlus Sans font Magisk module zip file you downloaded and tap to select
  • Then let the installation take place
  • To finish the process tap on Reboot

Advantage of Using Magisk Module

If you are wondering why do we use a Magisk module to fix this issue, let me explain this to you. With Magisk, the module can be installed in a systemless manner. This means the system gets modified but not in the regular manner. The modifications are going to reflect in the boot partition. The actual system file remains untouched.

This enables you to avoid Google Safety Net detection. Otherwise, if the modifications are unable to bypass the safety net detection, then a few functions and apps may be disabled upon detection of root access on the device.

Can You Flash the OnePlus Sans Font Magisk Module On Other Devices?

Yes, it is possible. Apart from OnePlus, you can also flash this magisk module on Xiaomi and POCO android devices. This module juxtaposes pretty well with the systems that incorporate clean Android UI.

So, that’s all about installing the magisk module that enables the OnePlus Sans font on any rooted Android device. If you like to experiment with fonts, then do try this out. I hope that this guide was useful.
