Update as of November 28: The Chinese OEM Xiaomi rolled out the latest closed beta MIUI 20.11.23 for Android 10 (along with Android 11) with a plethora of changes and improvements. It added a new camera UI that was spotted on Android 11 earlier. Apart from that, Xiaomi has also added savings suggestions to extend battery life, abnormal power consumption detection among others. Update as of November 23: The Android 11 based MIUI 12 is already working on a new and overhauled power menu which is although not available for general users. Turns out Android 10 is coming on Turkish and Global variants too as per the respective Telegram channels which hints at the update version 20.11.25. Update as of November 17: Following the Xiaomi devices ending up in a continuous reboot on Airtel network, the latter has released a statement concerning the same. According to the statement, the update to fix this issue will arrive by this week. The telecom company said that they are taking temporary containment measures and said that users will have to get their devices flashed at a service centre to revive the affected devices. [Source]


The Apple of China, Xiaomi has grown to become one of the largest Chinese smartphone makers thanks to its persuasive and intelligent marketing & pricing schemes in India, China, and other markets. As of 2019, Xiredaomi and Google are working together by introducing two smartphones msigned up under Predroject Treble that allowed major Android updates to be sent via OTA including both beta and MTU updates faster than other smartphones.

Google introduced the next, 10th generation Android 10 at the Google I/O Conference 2019 earlier this year. Google has resorted to name its upcoming Android OSes with a numbering system i.e. Android Q is now known as Android 10 while its successors will follow the same numbering system as well. Xiaomi makes some changes in the stock Android to club in with its own MIUI version before introducing it to all smartphones starting with Xiaomi Mi 9 and Mi Mix 3 5G as the first two candidates followed by others over a course of time that could extend a year depending upon the priority and eligibility of the smartphones while a lot of devices in the various Redmi and Mi series will be left out as they have run out of being supported with major updates.

Android 10 introduces some of the new features along with improvements over the last Android Pie 9.0 version such as improved navigation gestures, system-wide dark mode, native 5G support, native support to foldable displays. It will also have revamped the Digital Wellbeing feature that was announced back in Android Pie. It will also have Focus Mode that eliminates distractions and improves focus and more.

The Poco C31 has arrived in India with a Helio G35 SoC under the hood paired with *4GB storage and 4GB RAM. It runs on Android 10-powered MIUI V12 out-of-the-box.

Xiaomi Redmi 9i Sport

The Redmi 9i Sport has arrived with a P2i water resistant coating on top of everything that the regular Redmi 9i brought on-board. There’s only a tiny bit of difference between the two. The device runs on Android 10-powered MIUI 12 out-of-the-box (of course).

Xiaomi Redmi 9A Sport

The Redmi 9A Sport just like the 9i Sport is based on its predecessor Redmi 9A that brings a P2i coating on top for protection against water and that’s the only difference between the two. The phone arrives with Android 10 and MIUI V12 on top of it.

Xiaomi Redmi 9 Activ

The device brings a P2i water-repellent coating on top along with specifications such as a 6.53-inch IPS LCD HD+ panel, a Helio G35 SoC, along with 5MP selfie and a 13MP dual front camera. The device runs on Android 10-powered MIUI V12 out-of-the-box.

Xiaomi Mi 10i

Xiaomi Mi 10i is the latest addition to the Mi 10 family and it comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor and comes pre-loaded with Android 10-based MIUI 12.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 5G

Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 9 5G in China with a Dimensity 800U SoC on-board. It has a 6.53” LCD panel with a 60Hz refresh rate, a 48MP+8MP+2MP camera setup on-board. It runs on Android 10-based MIUI 12 out-of-the-box.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 4G

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi released the Redmi Note 9 4G with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC along with 128GB storage, 4GB RAM, and it has a 6,000 mAh battery under the hood. Just like its 5G sibling, the Redmi Note 9 4G runs on the Android 10-basd MIUI 12.

Xiaomi Note 9 Pro 5G

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 750G SoC. It has a 6.67” 1080p display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a 108MP triple camera setup along with a 16MP selfie shooter. It runs on the Android 10-based MIUI 12 out-of-the-box. It is also eligible for Android 11 as well.

Xiaomi Mi 10

Update as of February 14: Xiaomi announced a series of devices under the Mi 10 banner and this is the standard flagship variant. It comes with Android 10-based MIUI 11 out-of-the-box in its home country.

Update as of July 3: As of now, the Chinese Mi 10 is getting treated with the stable MIUI 12 upgrade bearing version number V12.0.1.0.QJBCNXM which is rolling out via OTA for eligible users. The update should take some time to correspond on your device but if you don’t want to wait, here’s where you get the link of the new firmware for a manual upgrade.

Update as of July 21: Mi 10 is now intercepting MIUI 12 upgrade bearing version number V12.0.1.0.QJBMIXM weighing at 1.0GB. It is an OTA update and thus, will take some time to intercept on all variants. You can simply tap here to download the MIUI 12 stable build on Mi 10 and manually flash it.

Update as of August 6: Xiaomi Mi 10 is a part of the Android 11 beta program. It is now getting MIUI 12 beta stable update for its Russian units since its Chinese, European, and Global variants have already upgraded to the latest MIUI 12 beta. The update bears software version number V12.0.1.0.QJBRUXM and is released via OTA although users can still download the firmware and flash it on their Mi 10 (Russian) units by tapping here. 

Update as of August 7: Up until Mi 10, Xiaomi didn’t have a ROM specifically for Turkey. Cut to now, the Mi 10 has already received the MIUI 12 upgrade on its global, Russian, and European variants starting with China first. Now the update is arriving specifically for users in Turkey although in a limited slot since the bugs and glitches are required to be ironed out before a mass rollout in the country can be initiated. The update brings version number MIUI 12.0.1.0.QJBTRXM and arrives as an OTA rollout for a limited user as its a beta stable version. Update as of August 10: The Vodafone locked Xiaomi Mi 10 is finally getting its share of MIUI 11-based beta stable update based on Android 10. This is a limited rollout and users will get the upcoming MIUI 11 once it is deemed bug-free. This also means the wait for MIUI 12 is now increased. [Source]

Update as of August 14: The Indonesia variant of Xiaomi Mi 10 is now getting Android 10-based MIUI 12 after a long wait. This comes way after its Chinese variant got the update along with other variants. The update bears software version number V12.0.1.0.QJBIDXM and it is an OTA rollout on a limited number of users. Update as of August 17: Today, after releasing the MIUI 12 update across various regions, Xiaomi Mi 10 in India is now getting MIUI 12 bearing version number 12.0.2.0.QJBINXM under Xiaomi’s MI Pilot program although the latter part couldn’t be confirmed at the time of writing this. Update as of August 28: Xiaomi serves its Mi-series smartphones with two major Android OS upgrades and a few MIUI updates. Just now, The Mi 10 in Europe have started intercepting the MIUI 12 based on Android 10 with version number V12.0.1.0.QJBEUXM. Update as of November 18: Turns out Xiaomi has re-released MIUI 12 stable update on Xiaomi Mi 10 with Android 11 as the base version. The update arrives with version number V12.2.2.0.RJBCNXM  and sports quite an extensive list of features and bug fixes as per the changelog. Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition

Update as of June 24: The Chinese variant of Mi 10 Lite called as Mi 10 Youth Edition is finally getting the MIUI 12 stable update in the country with a bunch of new features and more. This update bears software version number MIUI V12.0.3.0.0VCNXMI weighing at 214MB and it is available via OTA update that should arrive on your device soon although the OTA updates are notorious as they release in batches and often could cause a delay of a few days to a few weeks. Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G

Update as of July 20: The Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G in Europe is now getting the much-needed MIUI 12 update in the European markets. The update brings software version number V12.0.1.0.QJIEUXM releasing via OTA for Mi Lite 5G users. Since it is an OTA upgrade, this should take a few days to weeks to arrive or you can simply tap here to download the MIUI 12 stable version for European unit.

Update as of August 10: The Korean variant of Mi 10 Lite 5G is now intercepting MIUI 11 stable update with version number V11.0.3.0.QJIKRGU as per a tweet on Weibo. It is available via OTA although if you aren’t likely to wait for the OTA rollout, tap here to download it on your device and flash it manually.

Update as of August 10: Just alongside the Korean variant, the Orange Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G is also getting Android 10-based MIUI 11 with software version number V11.0.3.0.QJIRUOR which is an European stable version for Orange locked Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G. Update as of December 15: According to the latest update, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G is now getting upgraded to MIUI 12 update with version 12.0.1.0.QJITWXM in Taiwan. Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite Zoom

Update as of April 29: Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite Zoom arrived with Android 10-based MIUI 11 out-of-the-box and has promised to upgrade to the next version soon.

Update as of June 17: Xiaomi is now releasing MIUI 12 on Mi 10 Lite Zoom as we talk. The update bears version number V12.0.2 and we don’t know much about it yet. A user posted a screenshot of the update on Weibo and it is limited to China as of now. You’ll have to wait for the OTA update as there’s no installation file available with us at this moment.

Update as of July 20: The Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite Zoom is now intercepting another update based on MIUI 12. The new version is at V12.0.4.0.QJVCNXM based on Android 10 and has a few minor improvements over its previous update. Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro

Update: Mi 10 Pro already runs on Android 10 although it has Android 11 upgrade as well since it is one of the few devices to rock Android 11 DP. Read more here.

Update as of February 13: Launched alongside Mi 10, the Mi 10 Pro arrives with Android 10-based MIUI 12 out-of-the-box in China while other regions had MIUI 11.

Update as of July 24: Today, the global variant of Mi 10 Pro is now intercepting the much-anticipated MIUI 12 update bearing version number  V12.0.1.0.QJAMIXM. There are mainly two ways to get it. Either OTA or you can hit this link to download and flash it manually on your device.

Update as of August 4: After its global counterparts got their upgrades, it is now the European variant of Mi 10 Pro which is now intercepting a new MIUI stable variant. It is fetching software version number V12.0.1.0.QJAEUXM weighing at 1GB in size available through OTA. Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite

Update as of May 9: As the Chinese OEM showcases the world its Mi Note 10 Lite, the device is launching with Android 10-based MIUI 11 out-of-the-box unlike its base variant aka Mi Note 10. This means it is eligible for two consecutive major Android OS upgrades and a couple of MIUI upgrades as well.

Update as of September 1: After its variants had already upgraded to MIUI 12, it is now the Global variant that is now getting the update as we talk. The update brings on-board version number V12.0.2.0.QFNMIXM via OTA update while those who don’t want to wait can do so by downloading the file from here and upgrading to it manually.

Update as of September 5: The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite is now intercepting MIUI 12 for its European variant. The update brings version number V12.0.1.0.QFNEUXM which is a bump from MIUI 11 it was pre-loaded with.  It is an OTA rollout and thus, could take hours to days before it reached your device. If you can’t wait for the update, you can simply click here to download the firmware and flash it on your device right away.

Update as of September 07: The latest update on Mi Note 10 Lite is that the phone now supports ARCode which is Google Play services for AR or Augmented Reality applications. Along with it, the MIUI 12 update on Mi Note 10 Lite that it intercepted just a few days ago has some issues with the proximity sensor. Soon after the update, the proximity sensor stopped working when on calls. This was reported by a few users recently on Mi Community Forum and other forums. Update as of September 11: Apparently, the MIUI 12 update on Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite is out for testing. This means that the wider rollout is imminent and will follow later. This was confirmed by a moderator on Mi Community as well where he stated that this update is released partially for testing and a wider rollout to the public will soon take place. [Source]

Update as of September 15 (1): When a user asked about MIUI 12 update on Global Mi Note 10 Lite, a Xiaomi moderator on Mi Community said that the MIUI 12 update for the same is already rolling out as a partial update. He added that it is a beta stable update and thus, even if users download it via third-party sites will not be able to flash it even with the System Updater app given its beta status. [Source]

Update as of September 15 (2): Apparently, Xiaomi has released MIUI 12 update on Mi Note 10 Lite in Russia. The update bears version V12.0.1.0.QFNRUXM arriving via OTA update. Users will have to wait until it arrives since OTA updates are notorious when it comes to rolling out. Update as of October 7: As per the latest progress in the MIUI 12 updates, the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite in Turkey is now getting MIUI 12 update bearing version number V12.0.1.0.QFNTRXM and it is rolling out via OTA. The users can either wait for the OTA update to be rolled out that could take hours or even a few days or they can hit this link to download the firmware and flash it on their devices right away.

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Pro

The Redmi Note 10 Pro is the global variant for the Mi CC9 Pro model which was launched for the Chinese market only. It has the bigger 6.47-inch AMOLED display with HDR10, Always-on display support. It’s powered by the Snapdragon 730G SoC, paired with 8GB/256GB memory, packs five rear cameras (108+12+5+20+2MP), and a 32MP selfie camera. The device features an under-display fingerprint sensor, a bigger 5260mAh battery, 30W fast charging, and more.

The handset runs on Android 9.0 Pie along with MIUI 11 and is expected to receive the Android 10 update by early 2020 if we’re not wrong. Although we have to wait for the official info.

Update as of August 30: Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Pro has been listed in the second phase of MIUI 12 and turns out the phone is finally getting the stable update on its global unit. The update has a software version number V12.0.1.0.QFDMIXM. You can either wait for the OTA update that could take a few days or so. On the other hand, we have the firmware ready for download right away. You can manually flash it on your device right away.

Update as of September 15: The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Pro is now intercepting MIUI 12 in Indonesia after rolling out for various other regions. The update bears software version number V12.0.2.0.QFDIDXM rolling out via OTA that could take a few days as the update is served in batches. You can still tap here to download it asap.

Xiaomi Mi Note 10

The handset packs the Gorilla Glass 5 on both front and backside. It has a 6.47-inch AMOLED display, SDM730G processor, 6GB RAM, 128GB internal memory, Penta-lens rear camera setup of 108+12+5+20+2MP and a selfie camera of 32MP on the front. The 5260mAh battery with fast charging, an optical in-display fingerprint sensor, etc is one of the highlights of this device.

It runs on MIUI 11 based on Android 9.0 Pie and should receive the Android 10 update by early 2020 though the timeline isn’t available.

Update as of July 22: As the Chinese counterpart Mi CC9 Pro has intercepted the Android 10-based MIUI 12 update earlier today, the wait for Mi Note 10 users isn’t that long either. It is already expected to get the update by the end of this month or early August so we just have to wait for a few days to get it.

Update as of August 6: The Chinese variant of Mi Note 10 called as Mi CC9 Pro has already upgraded to the latest MIUI 12 skin. Cut to now, the Mi Note 10 (global) variant is expected to get the update in August but seems like Xiaomi is rolling out another update which is still based on MIUI 11. The update bearing software version number V11.0.6.0.QFNMIXM is available as a Global Stable update for Android 10-based MIUI 11 and it is rolling out via OTA and thus, it would take a few days to weeks to arrive on your device. Update as of August 25: After rolling out for the Global variant, Xiaomi is releasing MIUI 12 to Mi Note 10 for its European variant. The update bears software version number V12.0.1.0.QFDEUXM which is an airborne update that should reach your device soon. It weighs at 855MB and yanks up the MIUI version from 11 to 12 on the European variant. Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro

It’s a Chinese variant only that comes with bigger AMOLED display, Snapdragon 730G chipset, Adreno 618 GPU, up to 8GB RAM, 256GB onboard storage options, etc. It also has a similar camera setup and battery like the Mi Note 10 model. The handset comes with MIUI 11 based on Android Pie. In terms of the Android 10 update, Xiaomi should push out the latest update by the end of this year or early 2020 expectedly. We have to keep an eye on it.

Update as of July 20: Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro is expected to get MIUI 12 by the end of this month as per a speculated report of the second batch of MIUI rollout and an official comment from MIUI regarding the same.

Update as of July 22: Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro which is known as Xiaomi Mi Note 10 outside China is finally intercepting Android 10-based MIUI 12 as we speak. The update version number 12.0.1.0.QFDCNXM weighing at 762MB is being pushed out via OTA update and has already been spotted by several users. [Source]

Update as of August 27: Last year, Mi Note 10 which is a global equivalent of Mi CC9 Pro, got the Android 10 first. Cut to now, the Mi CC9 Pro (Chinese equivalent) has finally intercepted the Android 11 Beta allowing users to test the new OS on their Mi CC9 Pro devices. The update brings both Android 11 beta and MIUI 20.8.26 on-board and it is arriving via OTA. Xiaomi Mi CC9

It was launched in July 2019 with a bigger 6.39-inch Super AMOLED display, SDM710 SoC, paired with 6GB/8GB RAM, 64GB/128GB/256GB internal storage options. There is a triple rear camera setup consists 48+8+2MP and a 32MP selfie camera as well. All the major connectivity options and sensors are available for an under-display fingerprint sensor. It has a 4030mAh battery with the 18W fast charging support.

The device runs on Android 9.0 Pie over MIUI 10 at the time of launching. Though there is no official announcement available yet, the Android 10 update is about to knock the door very soon.

Update as of July 20: If you are eagerly waiting for MIUI 12, your wait is likely to end soon as MIUI’s official Weibo account has confirmed rolling out MIUI 12 in its second phase by the end of this year and Mi CC9 is likely a part of it.

Update as of August 25: The Chinese Mi CC9 which is known as Mi 9 Lite outside the home country is now intercepting Android 10-based MIUI 12 upgrade bearing version number V12.0.2.0.QFCCNXM. It is a stable Chinese update pushed via OTA and will soon intercept on your device. Xiaomi Mi CC9e

This is the lower or lite version of the standard Xiaomi Mi CC9 model. The Mi CC9e comes with the smaller 6.01-inches Super AMOLED display, SDM665 chipset, paired with 4GB/6GB RAM, and 64GB/128GB internal storage options. The rear cameras, front-facing cameras, battery, and other features are similar to the Mi CC9.

It also runs on Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 and expected to receive the Android 10 update by December 2019 or in the first quarter of 2020.

Update: Xiaomi recently pushed Android 10 based MIUI 12 beta on Xiaomi Mi CC9e as a part of its closed beta update in China. Now that the device has Android 10, it will shortly get Android 11 as well although we aren’t aware of the timeline as of now but stay tuned to get real-time information once available.

Update as of October 26: As per the latest development, the Xiaomi Mi CC9e in China is picking up MIUI 12.0.3.0.QFMCNXM. The device has been waiting for MIUI 12 for a long time. This allows Mi CC9e users to get their hands on MIUI 12 based on Android 10. Users can either wait for the update arriving via OTA or they can tap here to download the firmware and flash it on your device.

Update as of January 25: Xiaomi w.r.t. its Chinese internal test beta development is ending support for Xiaomi Mi CC9e on April 24, 2021. With that being said, Mi CC9e is unlikely to get Android 11 and rather it will get MIUI 12.5 once it arrives officially. Update as of April 24: Based on the latest update, the Xiaomi Mi CC9e is now intercepting MIUI v21.4.22 update in China where users will be able to get the Android 10-powered MIUI 12.5 update. Xiaomi Mi CC9 Meitu Edition

Update as of July 20: Mi CC9 Meitu Edition is likely to get MIUI 12 skin by the end of this month. This comes from Xiaomi’s second batch of stable MIUI 12 rollout as confirmed by its official handle on Weibo itself.

Update as of August 31: The special MI CC9 Meitu Edition is a Chinese smartphone variant and it is now intercepting the MIUI 12 upgrade as we speak. The update brings version number V12.0.2.0.0QFEXNXM on-board along with Android 10 in China as a stable update. This has helped CC9 Meitu Edition join wagon with its other siblings in the series. Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha

It’s an upcoming FullView display smartphone that offers more than 180% screen-to-body ratio by Xiaomi. Due to the complete display, it has the Titanium alloy frame and ceramic back strip for stronger build quality. The device packs a flexible Super AMOLED 7.92-inch display that will be powered by Snapdragon 855+ flagship chipset.

It will be packed with 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage option as there is no expandable memory available. The triple rear camera setup of a 108+12+20MP sensor along with a dual-LED flash. Due to the foldable display nature, the rear cameras can work as a selfie camera. Whereas, it will have an in-display fingerprint sensor, 4050mAh battery, 40W fast charging support, and more.

This is an another Mi 9 series smartphone launched in September this year with 5G connectivity. It features a 6.39-inches Super AMOLED Full-HD+ display with HDR10 support. The device is powered by Snapdragon 855+ SoC, up to 12GB RAM, up to 512GB internal storage, a triple rear camera setup. It has most of the connectivity options except a 3.5mm audio jack and sensors like an in-display fingerprint sensor, and more. The device sports a 4000mAh battery with 40W fast charging support. It already runs on Android 10 on the top of MIUI 11 out-of-the-box.

Update as of June 16: After going through plenty of Xiaomi phones, MIUI 12 stable version has finally arrived on Mi 9 Pro 5G along the same time as Mi 9 in China. Update as of June 23: Alongside Redmi K20 Pro and Mi 9T Pro, the Xiaomi Mi 9 is also scaling to MIUI 12 update in Europe before arriving in other regions. This is an MIUI 12 Beta EEA Stable update with software version number V12.0.1.0QFAEUXM and just as with any beta updates, it is being rolled out to random users in Europe before a mass rollout is initiated. Update as of July 24: speaking about the ongoing MIUI 12 update, users in Russia are finally getting the much-anticipated MIUI 12 update on their Mi 9 smartphones. No doubt the update is arriving a little later than other regions getting it but all’s well when it ends well. Update as of August 14: Xiaomi released yet another MIUI 12 beta update bearing version number 20.8.14. Released yesterday, Xiaomi has delayed the rollout citing some stability issues and thus, Mi 9 users will have to wait some more to get the new beta update. Update as of August 12: As of today, the Vodafone locked Xiaomi Mi 9 has intercepted MIUI 11 which is bizarre since other ROMs are getting MIUI 12. Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro

In the year of 2019, Xiaomi has launched plenty of Mi-series devices and Mi 9T Pro is one of them that comes as a flagship smartphone. It’s the Chinese variant of Redmi K20 Pro and has the same 6.39-inches Super AMOLED HDR display. The device offers Android 9 Pie (MIUI 10), Snapdragon 855 SoC, up to 8GB RAM, up to 256GB onboard memory option. It has the triple rear 48+8+13MP cameras and a 20MP pop-up selfie camera.

The smartphone packs a 4000mAh battery along with the 27W fast charging (Quick Charge 4+) support. The Android 10 update for this device is also around the corner and the users may have to wait for Q1 or Q2 of 2020 expectedly.

Update as of June 23: The next in the queue to get the latest MIUI 12 stable version is Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro which is a Redmi K20 Pro equivalent for users outside China. The MIUI 12 stable update is rolling out via OTA bearing version number V12.0.1.0.QFKMIXM and it will be available for those who are currently on V11.0.4.0.QFKMIXM. This is an OTA update and thus, the update should arrive on your device airborne and since it is released in batches, you might have to wait for it. The Chinese Mi 9T Pro has already upgraded to MIUI 12.

Update as of June 23: Since Mi 9T Pro (global) users in Europe were excited to get MIUI 12, there’s a roadblock. The update has been pulled off the air after Xiaomi encountered some problems with it. This was later confirmed by a moderator on Xiaomi’s community forum.

Update as of June 29: Xiaomi has resumed rolling out MIUI 12 stable update to the global version of Mi 9T Pro after fixing the problem they had with it. [Download]

Update as of July 02: MIUI’s official handle on Twitter made an announcement stating that Xiaomi Mi 9, Mi 9T, Mi 9T Pro, Redmi K20, and Redmi K20 Pro is finally getting a full-fledged stable MIUI 12 update. Note that there’s no intel if it is available in all regions.

Update as of July 27: After its global and Indian variant got the Android 10-based MIUI 12 upgrade, Mi 9T Pro is finally rolling out the update to its Russian units codenamed raphael. It is a MIUI 12 update based on Android 10 and bears version number V12.0.1.0.QFKRXM. As always, the update is via OTA and should be available on your phone shortly. Xiaomi Mi 9T

It’s the Chinese variant of the Global variant Redmi K20 model. The Mi 9T was released in June 2019 along with the same 6.39-inch AMOLED display, Snapdragon 730 chipset, 6GB RAM, and 64GB/128GB of onboard storage. While the rest of the specifications and features are the same as the Mi 9T Pro/Redmi K20 Pro model.

It runs on Android 9.0 Pie (MIUI 10) out-of-the-box and should receive the Android 10 update very soon. Although Xiaomi hasn’t announced the timeline for this device yet.

Xiaomi has started pushing OTA updates for Xiaomi Mi 9T in China with firmware version V12.0.1.0.QJBCNXM. It takes around two weeks for a stable version to reach India so we can expect Android 10-based MIUI 12 by the end of this month followed by the European and other markets by the end of this month as well. Note that this MIUI 12 on Mi 9T is based on Android 11 and it is quite possible that Xiaomi could skip the beta part and release Android 11-based MIUI 12 instead.

Update as of July 01: MIUI has officially announced the rollout of MIUI 12 to all global units of Mi 9T and three others in its latest tweet.

Update as of July 13: More than a week ago, Xiaomi announced that it’s Mi 9T in China and elsewhere is finally getting MIUI 12 Stable based on Android 10. It is available with version number V12.0.2.0 and should arrive via OTA in batches. [Source]

Update as of July 20: According to the latest comment by MIUI’s official Weibo handle, MIUI 12 is rolling out to a few phones in the second phase and Mi 9 SE is likely included in the list. The update could arrive as early as by the end of July.

Update as of July 25: There’s some bad news for Xiaomi Mi 9T users. Apparently, the Global, European, and Russian variants of the phone were already upgraded to MIUI 12 based on Android 10, the update has been pulled off. This comes from a Xiaomi moderator on Mi Community which makes it a legit. The statement mentions that there’s been some issues with the new update and that is why users will no longer be able to upgrade for a time being. Update as of August 4: A few days ago, Xiaomi had to pull off the MIUI 12 upgrade on Xiaomi Mi 9T on its Global, Russian and European variants. Cut to now, the Global variant of Mi 9T is getting the update based on MIUI 12 with all the fixes that caused issues with the  last updates. The new software version bears the number V12.0.3.0.QFJMIXM that will fix issues discovered on V12.0.1.0 and V12.0.2.0  without any hassle. The update is being rolled out via OTA so you’ll have to keep an eye when it’ll arrive that could take days. Update as of October 24: The latest Control Center update on MIUI 12 is now available for Xiaomi Mi 9t in Europe along with October 2020 security patch. The update fixes Control Center landscape mode issues that were discovered previously on Redmi 9A and others. Xiaomi Mi 9 Explorer

It’s also known as Xiaomi Mi 9 Transparent Edition that was released in June 2019. It has also the same display as the Mi 9T. While the device sports SDM855 SoC, 8GB/12GB RAM, 256GB internal storage, a triple rear camera setup of 48+12+16MP and a 20MP selfie shooter. It has a 3300mAh battery and 27W fast charging support that comes with MIUI 10 based on the Android 9.0 Pie version.

The device should attract the Android 10 update very soon.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G

The 5G variant of Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, the latest Mi Mix 3 5G hosts the high-end Snapdragon 855 paired with Adreno Adreno 640 GPU and 6GB RAM and yes, it is 5G supported thanks to the Snapdragon X50 modem. Introduced in May 2019, it is currently one of the 21 devices that support Android 10 beta under Project Treble which means you can actually download the beta update right away. Although Xiaomi hasn’t posted any timeline, we expect it to roll out for these two supported devices by early 2020.

Update as of July 24: The Xiaomi support team has finally buried the hatchet when it comes to Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G getting Android 10 update. Update as of September 22r: As per the latest update, the Mi Mix 3 5G is now picking up MIUI 12 update on its global variants bearing version number V12.0.1.0.PEMMIXM that brings a string of features and design changes among others. The update is releasing via OTA so you need to be a little patient to get your hands on it.

Xiaomi Mi 9 SE

The next in the list is Xiaomi Mi 9 SE, a mid-range smartphone that falls in the category of sub-300 EUR pricing. The phone supports SDM712 10nm octa-core processor clocked at max 2.3 GHz while the Adreno 616 GPU supports graphics with a 6GB built-in RAM and a 64/128GB internal storage which are some of the best specifications in this price range thanks to the brand like Xiaomi. The 48+13+8MP triple-camera rear setup and a 20MP front add another stone in jewelry as well. Finally, the device comes with MIUI 10 based on Android Pie 9.0 pre-loaded which means there is little doubt that it will receive Android 10 update but perhaps the timeline is unavailable.

Update as of August 14: Xiaomi Mi 9 SE is getting another MIUI update, however, it is based on Android 10. Xiaomi Mi Mix 2

Update as of September 8: Mi Mix 2 is now officially getting MIUI 12 based on Android 9.0 Pie bearing version number V12.0.1.0.PDECNXM in its home country – China. It is available via OTA or you can check out the MIUI 12 China Stable ROM section to get the OTA package for manually flashing it on your device.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S

Update as of July 9: Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S arrived in 2018 with Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box. It has already received Android 9.0 and awaiting Android 10-based MIUI 12 that is rolling out soon. The device is popular among people discussing whether it will get Android 11 or not but there’s a final nail in the coffin situation here. According to Xiaomi Firmware Updater which is a reliable source to know which phones will get updates and the firmware versions to download, it says that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S will not get Android 11-based MIUi 12 in a reply on Twitter when someone asked about the update on Mi Mix 2S. Now that it is almost clear, don’t keep any hope that it will get the upgrade unless Xiaomi changes its mind otherwise. [Source]

Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite

As the name suggests, it’s the lite version of the standard Mi 9 model. The handset was launched in September 2019 along with a 6.39-inches Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 710 SoC. It’s paired with 6GB of RAM, 64GB/128GB of internal storage (expandable up to 256GB via hybrid slot). The device sports a triple rear camera of 48+8+2MP sensor, a 32MP selfie shooter, an in-display fingerprint scanner, a 4030mAh battery with 18W fast charging support, and more.

The handset runs on Android 9.0 Pie over MIUI 10 out-of-the-box. Although Xiaomi hasn’t revealed any timeline for the Android 10 update of this device. It’s expected that the Mi 9 Lite should get the latest update by the end of 2019 most probably.

Update as of August 29: Xiaomi has now re-released MIUI 12 on Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite on its global variant. The update comes with a version number V12.0.3.0.QFCMIXM after the previous V12.0.2.0 variant didn’t roll out for all. Xiaomi Mi Mix 3

Regarded as the Apple of China, Xiaomi introduced Mi Mix 3 flagship smartphone last year in October. It sports a large 6.36-inch Super AMOLED display clad with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 with a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels. It is powered by Snapdragon 845 octa-core SoC backed with 6/8/10GB internal storage along with maximum internal storage up to 256GB. It was launched just after Android Pie 9.0 was official which means it had the new OS out-of-the-box with MIUI  10 on top of it. No doubt it will get Android 10 as the official launch was held in September this year while it is also eligible to get Android 11 in 2020.

Update as of 11 March: The Russian variant of Mi Mix 3 is getting Android 10 as we speak. This is a MIUI 11-based firmware bearing version number 11.0.2.0.QEERUXM which is available via OTA or you can tap here to download and flash it manually on your device.

Update as of March 14: After beating the heat of many other phones getting the Android 10 upgrade, the XIaomi Mi Mix 3 is finally getting Android 10 in the global variant with February 2020 security patch. This is almost two months after the Chinese variant intercepted the update. The new update brings software version MIUI 11.0.3.0.QEEMIXM on-board weighing at 2.0GB  and it is rolling out via OTA so that should take some time to intercept on  your phone. Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro

Last year, a number of smartphones were released in Mi 8 series such as the Mi 8 Pro which as the name suggests, is the higher-end model compared to others. Introduced in September 2018, it runs on Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor clocked at 2.8GHz (max) while it has 128GB internal storage and 6/8GB RAM options. It has a front and back glass with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protecting its 6.21-inch AMOLED display with a 402 PPI density. With a powerful processor and abundant RAM/ROM and a single major update yet, it is a key candidate to receive yet another Android 10 update without a doubt.

Xiaomi Mi 8 Transparent Edition

Update as of July 20: Mi 8 Transparent Edition from Xiaomi is likely to intercept MIUI 12 stable version by the end of this month. This comes from an official comment from MIUI that the new version is ready for the second phase of the rollout.

Xiaomi Mi 8 SE

Update as of September 2: After Mi 8 picked up MIUI 12 back in July, the Mi 8 SE is now picking up MIUI 12 based on Android 10 in China. The update brings on-board MIUI V12.0.1.0.QEBCNXM and also brings a tonne of features and improvements over the previous MIUI version. Xiaomi Mi 8

The standard Mi 8 has almost a similar specification as the Pro variant expects the telephoto lens and a variety of RAM and ROM options to choose from such as 6/8GB and 64/128/256GB respectively. Update as of July 15: XIaomi Mi 8 is slated to intercept MIUI 12 stable by the end of July or mid-August. It is currently getting MIUI 12 beta 20.7.9 with a June 2020 security patch. The update is currently live in Russia via OTA although you can download it manually by clicking here. 

Update as of July 20: Based on an official comment posted by MIUI’s official Weibo handle, MIUI 12 will soon start rolling out to a handful of compatible devices and as per a speculated ETA, it could rollout by the end of this year and Xiaomi Mi 8 is likely a part of the second phase.

Update as of July 30: Xiaomi Mi 8 was slated to receive MIUI 12 in the second phase of rollout by the end of this month. Update as of November 2: Per the latest news, the global MI 8 is now getting Android 10-based MIUI 12 update bearing version number V12.0.1.0.QEAMIXM available through OTA. Update as of November 18: Well, rejoice Mi 8 users as the MIUI 12 stable update has finally arrived on Mi 8 although for the Russian variant at the moment. Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite

The Xiaomi 8 Lite is indeed a toned-down version of Mi 8 and features SDM660 in an entry-level price range. It has two RAM and ROM variants along with a dual 12+5MP rear and a single 24MP shooter. It is also one of the Xiaomi smartphones to get Android 10 updates now that Google has launched the OS this month and it will be followed by a rollout from Xiaomi’s end early or later next year.

Update as of August 3: After the Mi 8 upgraded to MIUI 12, it’s high time that Mi 8 Lite too get the update. Update as of September 12: Apparently, the Russian variant of Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite is now intercepting Android 10-based MIUI 12 upgrade after the Chinese variant got the update earlier last month. The update brings version number V12.0.1.0.QDTRUXM and it is rolling out via OTA which means it would take some hours to even days to arrive on your device. Update as of September 21: After hitting the Chinese and Russian variant, MIUI 12 is now rolling out for Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite on its global variant. The update now bears version number V12.0.3.0.QDTMIXM and bumps up the MIUI version from 11 to 12 on the global Mi 8 Lite. Update as of January 19: The Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite is about to succumb to the software development lifecycle but it still has some juice left to upgrade to MIUI 12.5. The MIUI 12 update hasn’t been easy due to extensive upgrades in terms of power and resource usage such as with the Gaussian Blur and other features where Mi 8 Lite has to limit certain functions. Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition

Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition is a semi-transparent model that Xiaomi released carrying all flagship specifications with a transparent back panel. The device has a 6.21-inch Super AMOLED Full HD panel along with Snapdragon 845 SoC on-board along with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The device also has a dual rear 12MP+12MP camera setup with 4-axis OIS and other features while the front has a 20MP sensor. The device was released with Android 9.0 based MIUI and will be getting its major upgrade by the end of this year so expect it to arrive on your device in a few days.

Update as of August 17: Xiaomi has been releasing the now Android 10-based MIUI 12 left, right, center, and up. Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer is the next in the series to get MIUI 12 upgrade in the home country. Xiaomi Mi 8 UD

Update as of July 20: Based on an official comment from MIUI’s Weibo handle, MIUI 12 is set to roll out to a handful of devices in its second phase of the rollout. The upgrade is likely to roll out by the end of this month.

Update as of August 8: The wait for Mi 8 Pro or Mi 8 UD users getting an MIUI 12 is about to end soon. After its standard variant got the upgrade at the end of last month, the status for Mi 8 Pro has been updated. According to Zhang Guoquan who is the director of Xiaomi’s mobile phone software development, the MIUI 12 for MI 8 Pro (Mi 8 UD) is on the way and it is expected to release next week. Update as of August 17: The Chinese variant of Mi 8 UD is getting the Android 10-based MIUI 12 update bearing version number V12.0.1.0.QECCNXM up for OTA rollout.

Update as of August 27: Xiaomi has re-released another MIUI version on Mi 8 Pro UD based on Android 10. The update is available in China with the version number V12.0.2.0.QECCNXM that yanks up devices that were on MIUI 11. It is a beta update and a part of the Mi Pilot program available over the air for the eligible devices. You can either wait or tap here to download the firmware for manual flash on your device.

Xiaomi Mi A3

This year Xiaomi has launched another Mi A-series smartphone called Mi A3 which is the successor model of the last generation Mi A2 series. This time the company has come with an AMOLED display, an in-display fingerprint scanner for the Mi A3 model. Though it’s an HD+ 720×1560 pixels display. The device packs the Snapdragon 665 SoC, 4GB/6GB RAM, 64GB/128GB internal storage, etc.

It has a triple rear camera setup of 48+8+2MP along with a 32MP selfie camera. Meanwhile, it packs a 4030mAh battery with 18W fast charging (Quick Charge 3) support. Most importantly, the handset runs on Android 9.0 Pie over Android One program which ensures the two years of major Android updates. So, we can expect that the Mi A3 should receive the Android 10 update by the end of 2019 or early 2020. Although, there is no official confirmation available yet.

Update as of July 22: There’s a lot of drama around Xiaomi Mi A3 and its Android 10 upgrade ever since it received it earlier this year. Anyways, after pulling back the July 2020 security patch, Xiaomi has re-released the July 2020 patch bearing version number V11.0.17.0.QFQMIXM weighing 226MB. Xiaomi Mi A2

Also known as Mi 6X, the Xiaomi Mi A2 was introduced last year in July in a budget-friendly price range. It comes with SDM660 with a maximum frequency of 2.2GHz coupled with 4/6GB RAM and an internal storage of 32,64, and 1258GB. It is also an Android One smartphone which means it is among the first to get major updates as it has already shown after getting a bump from Android Oreo 8.1 to Android Pie 9.0 last year. It is expected to get Android 10 updates as well so we will probably have to wait for 2020 to unfold to get an update via OTA.

Update as of January 11: The Xiaomi Mi A2 has finally intercepted Android 10 today with December 2019 security patch with it. The update brings V11.0.4.0.QDIMIXM on-board on its global variant. Update as of January 21: Two weeks after Android 10 for Xiaomi Mi A2 was released and pulled back, it is re-releasing as of today. The OTA update is rolling out the bearing size of 1280.9MB and carries a January 2020 security patch with it. The updated MIUI firmware is V11.0.5.0.QDIMIXM. On the contrary, those who already received the upgrade will get the aforementioned firmware with a size of 162.8MB. Update as of September 12: The latest announcement for Mi A2 dictates that the MIUI 11 rollout based on Android 10 has been released and it is arriving via OTA on a random basis. Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite

Launched alongside Mi A2, the Mi A2 Lite is as the same suggests, a toned-down version of the standard Mi A2. It sports SDM625 clocked at 2.0 GHz along with 3/4GB RAM and internal storage of 32/64GB. Rather than getting a 12+20MP sensor at the back with A2, the Lite version got a 12+5MP dual camera setup. But perhaps it is an Android One smartphone which means it is highly likely that it will surely get an Android 10 update as it has already gone through one major upgrade from Oreo to Pie.

Xiaomi Mi Play

Xiaomi Mi Play is an entry-level smartphone powered by Mediatek Helio P35 octa-core processor with PowerVR GE8320 with 4GB RAM that allows it to process faster and quicker. It sports a 5.84-inch IPS LCD display and was introduced with Android Pie 9.0 out-of-the-box back in December 2018 which means it can still get Android 10 update as it is eligible although the Chinese manufacturer hasn’t clarified it yet.

Xiaomi Black Shark

Introduced with Android Oreo 8.1 last year, Black Shark is a gaming-oriented smartphone powered by Snapdragon 845 10nm processor and a 6/8GB RAM followed by 64/128GB internal storage. It reportedly received an Android Pie 9.0 some time ago which means it is up for yet another major update i.e. for Android 10 although it is shrouded in mystery as Xiaomi hasn’t posted a list of Android 10 supported devices as of now. Being one of the most powerful gaming phones of 2018, it is speculated to support yet another major Android update so we are hoping it receives the same someone early year if not by the end of this year.

Xiaomi Black Shark 2

The successor to last year’s Black Shark was introduced by Xiaomi in March 2019. Similar to the previous version, it is too a powerful gaming-oriented smartphone powered by the next-gen Snapdragon 855 octa-core 7nm chipset accompanied with Adreno 640, 8/8/12 RAM and an internal storage option of up to 256GB. It sports high-end 48MP+12MP dual sensor at the back and a 20MP front sensor. It runs on the latest Android Pie 9 and it is in line to get Android 10 Q update without any hassle although the timeline is in mystery as of now.

Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro

Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro is the latest gaming smartphone by Xiaomi Black Shark launched in August 2019. This device has 240Hz touch-sensing, a 6.39-inches AMOLED Always-on display, Snapdragon 855+ chipset, paired with 8GB/12GB RAM, 128GB/256GB internal storage, and more. It has the dual rear 48+12MP cameras and a 20MP selfie camera.

The device features stereo loudspeakers, ANC with a dedicated mic, Bluetooth 5.0, an in-display optical fingerprint scanner, a non-removable 4000mAh battery, and 27W fast charging support. The device runs on Android 9.0 Pie. The Android 10 update is somewhere around the corner although there is no confirmation from the company yet.

Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer

The handset was launched back in 2018 with a 6.21-inch Super AMOLED display that supports HDR10, Snapdragon 845 SoC, 8GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, a dual 12MP rear cameras, and a 20MP selfie shooter. It features the Face ID, an in-display fingerprint sensor, a 3000mAh battery with 18W fast charging, etc.

The device came with Android 8.1 Oreo and currently running on Android 9.0 Pie over MIUI 10.1 version. The Android 10 update may arrive around Q1 of 2020 most probably on this device. Although we have to wait for the official announcement.

Redmi Devices

Xiaomi has bifurcated Redmi devices into four phases where each smartphone eligible for Android 10 (MIUI 11) will get their stable updates during the phase. Note that it could take some time for Android 10 to arrive on your device depending upon the region, carrier, etc.

Xiaomi Redmi K30i

The Redmi K30i is a watered-down version of the Redmi K30 5G and it is only available in China. The phone has started intercepting MIUI 12 although it would take a few days or weeks to arrive on your phone if you are a Chinese user. You can choose to upgrade right away by downloading the software version number 12.0.3.0.QGICMXM or click here. Note that this also means Redmi K30i will get bumped to Android 11 soon.

Xiaomi Redmi K30

Update as of June 26: Redmi K30 is also known as Poco X2 in other markets. The phone has started intercepting MIUI 12 as a part of Xiaomi’s MIUI release in phases. Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro Zoom

Update as of June 18: As a part of Xiaomi’s MIUI 12 upgrade, Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro Zoom has finally started interepted MIUI 12 upgrade in China. Although released an internal version, it is similar to a stable release and thus, users won’t have to till a few iterations are released before a stable version is launched. The update routes from China and then, it will be released in International and Global markets as well. No doubt Android 11 on Redmi K30 Pro Zoom will be available soon.

Update as of July 15: Well, indeed Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition is finally getting a new MIUI 12 build (stable) for its Chinese variants. The update should arrive as OTA although users can go for manual installation by downloading the update here to get the update right away.

Xiaomi Redmi 10X 5G

Update as of July 22: After the 4G variant got upgraded to Android 10-based MIUI 12, the 5G variant was imminent to get the upgrade. The Redmi 10X 5G is finally intercepting the upgrade to version number V12.0.2.0.QJHCNXM weighing at 720MB. The update is via OTA and thus, users will have to wait for a while to intercept it. Moreover, they can tap here to download the installation file right away. Note that it is still limited to users in China.

Update as of August 4: According to the latest update, Xiaomi has re-released the MIUI 12-based build on Redmi 10X 5G in China bearing an upgraded software version V12.0.4.0.QJHCNXM available in its home country via OTA. Redmi 10X 4G

Update as of July 22: Also known as Redmi Note 9 in India, the Redmi 10X 4G is sold in China and has recently intercepted the MIUI 12. It was pulled back due to some reason and now, it is back on track bearing version number V11.0.6.0.QJOCNXM. The update is released via OTA and thus, it should take some time before arriving on your phone. Update as of July 29: After waiting for a while, the Redmi Note 9 is now finally getting MIUI 12 based on Android 10. This is an re-released incremental update with the fixes for issues that the last version had. Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S

Update as of July 23: It hasn’t been long since the Note 9 series released on Android 10-based MIUI 11 out-of-the-box. It is yet to get MIUI 12 which will be soon. As of now, Redmi 9S has intercepted a new update that yanks up its security patch to July 2020 with version number V11.0.10.0.QJWMIXM for global weighing at 198MB while the European variant gets V11.0.4.0.QJWEUXM weighing at 420MB. The update is released via OTA and thus, users will have to wait until it reaches their device. Another way to do it is to simply download the new firmware and manually install it. This is an airborne update so users will have to wait until receiving the same. Those who can’t wait can get around it by downloading the firmware.

Update as of August 21: Xiaomi is now releasing the next update on Redmi Note 9S bearing version number V11.0.11.0.QJWMIXM weighing at 244MB. The update also brings the August 2020 security patch with it. However, the problem with Note 9S which is also known as Note 9 Pro Global is that it is still on MIUI 11 and hasn’t been upgraded to MIUI 12 so far. Update as of August 27: Redmi Note 9S (also known as Redmi Note 9 Pro) reported that it is no longer able to play HD content due to the missing Widevine L1 certification. Although it was earlier thought that the users will have to wait till the MIUI 12 arrives on Note 9S, the problem has been fixed on MIUI 11 itself with a new patch with version number V10.0.11.0 rolling out via OTA for the eligible devices. Update as of September 10: The MIUI 12 on Redmi Note 9S is overdue for sure. Apparently, the current build on the device aka Android 10-based MIUI 11 has its issues too. It includes a crashing issue with the built-in Mi Video app. When asked by a user, a Super Moderator on Mi Community said that the issue has been submitted to the development teams dn will be fixed in the next update.

Although not explicitly mentioned, the upcoming update is highly likely to be MIUI 12. Another issue on Redmi Note 9S is that it doesn’t hit all notifications as many of them go missing when the phone is locked. Update as of September 12: Some users of Note 9S have reported issues wherein the MIUI Gallery app is creating files in the root directory in the internal storage. The purpose of these files is still unknown as deleting them doesn’t affect the app. Moreover, the app creates these files again when you launch the MIUI Gallery app. Although the moderator listed a few ways to fix the issue, nothing worked. It is when a moderator of Mi Community confirmed that the issue is now reported and it will be fixed in the upcoming updates presumably MIUI 12.

On the flip, a workaround by a user on XDA Forum could be employed until Xiaomi doesn’t provide the solution. Apparently, the MIUI Gallery v2.2.16.19 which is an upgrade over the existing MIUI Gallery app on Redmi Note 9S seems to have already fixed the issue. Update as of September 14: Another day, another issue has been spotted on Redmi Note 9S which is currently running on the firmware V11.0.11.0.QDWMIXM. Users have reported the same on Mi Community wherein their earpiece has stopped working all of a sudden. Some of the users tried resetting the phone and even redownload the firmware and flash it but to no avail. One of the users said that tapping on the area around the earpiece temporarily kicks the earpiece back to work but a fix is needed as a long time solution. Soon, a moderator said that the issue has been reported and that users are required to wait for sometime for the bug fix to be released. Update as of September 21: Two days ago, the Indian Redmi Note 9 Pro got upgraded to MIUI 12. This particular model is known as Redmi Note 9S globally. Based on the latest update coming from a Mi moderator, since the Indian variant got the MIUI 12 upgrade, the global variant won’t have to wait much longer for the update. Update as of September 28: After a much longer wait, the Redmi Note 9S (global) is now getting MIUI 12 on the device in Turkey. Update as of October 27: Apparently, the Xiaomi Redmi 9S global variant is now intercepting MIUI 12 bearing version number 12.0.1.0.QJWMIXM. The update carries a weight of 629 MB and it is available via OTA. You can still download the global stable version right here and flash it on your device.

Update as of November 3: Apparently, the Redmi Note 9S is now intercepting MIUI 12 released on both Fastboot and Recovery ROMs on its global ROM. The update arrives with update version number V12.0.1.0.QJWMIXM that users can officially download and flash on their respective Note 9S units. Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro

Update as of July 23: Along with Redmi Note 9S, the Redmi Note 9 Pro is also getting July 2020 security patch with the pre-existing Android 10-based MIUI 11. The update arrives with version number V11.0.4.0.QJZEUXM for European variant while the Russian variant is getting V11.0.3.0.QJZRUXM. Finally, the update is arriving with version number V11.0.3.0.QJZIDXM for the Indonesian variant.

Update as of August 31: Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro users have been waiting for MIUI 12 upgrade for a long time now. People took to Twitter to ask when to expect the MIUI 12 update and turns out, the update is coming this September. This was confirmed by Alvin Tse,the General Manager in Indonesia. Update as of September 5: When asked if when to expect MIUI 12 on Redmi Note 9 Pro, a Xiaomi moderator on Mi Community said that unlike Redmi Note 9 which has a counterpart in China where the update can be easily ported, Redmi Note 9 Pro doesn’t have a Chinese counterpart. Thus, the updates are required to be built from the ground up. This causes delays. Although the moderator didn’t specify any ETA, the update is expected to arrive soon.

Update as of September 12: Redmi Note 9 Pro is yet to get MIUI 12 update for some regions. Now that the MIUI 12 was made available for Note 9 Pro global ROM, the update for other regions should arrive soon. Update as of September 18: The Redmi Note 9 Pro in India is finally getting the much-anticipated MIUI 12 upgrade bearing version number V12.0.1.0.QJWINXM. The update is already airborne although OTA updates are notorious as they could take a few hours to days to intercept on devices. Update as of September 24:  If you are a Redmi Note 9 Pro user facing issues with sound with the earpiece while on calls, this is an issue that others are facing as well. Apparently, a Xiaomi moderator confirmed this issue and said that the developers are already working on fixing it so a little wait is required until the fix isn’t made available. [Source]

Update as of September 25: The global Redmi Note 9 Pro has been struggling to get its hands on MIUI 12 yet to no avail. It was originally planned for August but its obvious that it didn’t made it through. Cut to now, Xiaomi Indonesia has confirmed that they are working on MIUI 12 for Redmi Note 9 Pro and that it will be available in October 2020. Although the tweet doesn’t have any dates associated with it, it’s quite a relief that the phone will finally get the update after so long. Update as of October 5: According to Xiaomi’s General Manager in Indonesia – Alvin Tse, the Redmi Note 9 Pro will commence intercepting MIUI 12 update by mid-October. This means we are literally around a week or two away from getting the update. [Source]

Update as of October 9: As per the development, the Redmi Nnote 9 Pro is scheduled to get MIUI 12 upgrade on October 20. This comes from a Xiaomi UK Support executive although this doesn’t mean it is totally true as we will have to wait for the confirmation on the same.

Update as of October 14: The Redmi Note 9 Pro in Turkey have been waiting for the MIUI 12 update for a long time now. Cut to now, the update has finally arrived on its Turkish variant  bearing version number V12.0.1.0.QJZTRXM that you can download here. 

Update as of October 21: The Redmi Note 9 Pro is now intercepting the MIUI 12 re-released version in Turkey bearing version 12.0.2.0.QJZTRXM. This yanked up the MIUI version from 11 to 12 in Turkey on Redmi Note 9 Pro. Tap here to download the same.

Update as of October 23: Redmi Note 9 Pro global is undoubtedly one of the many that are waiting to intercept MIUI 12. Despite reports blossoming about the Note 9 Pro to get the update in October (among all other eligible devices), there’s no update as of now. When asked about the status, a Mi Community moderator said that the MIUI 12 build for Redmi Note 9 Pro (and Note 9S) is being tested. Update as of October 26: Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro (global) has been waiting for MIUI 12 upgrade for ages now. Although a similar Indian variant got the update, it was more of Redmi Note 9S than Note 9 Pro. Cut to now, we heard that the update would arrive this month i.e. October. Perhaps the update is now live. I am talking about the Indonesian variant of Redmi Note 9 Pro which is now intercepting the update bearing version number V12.0.2.0.QJZIDXM. Update as of October 27: As per the development, the Redmi Note 9 Pro is now picking up MIUI 12.0.1.0.QJZRUXM in Russia. The update arrives with the same changelog as its Indonesian variant available via OTA that yo u can either wait for or you can click here to download it and flash it on your Redmi Note 9 Pro (global).

Update as of November 10: Turns out Xiaomi is finally seeding out MIUI 12 stable update on REdmi Note 9 Pro on its global variant with version number 12.0.1.0.QJZMIXM. The update is slated for global variant and the update weighs at 683MB and it is an airborne rollout that would take some time to arrive as usually, the OTA rollouts are batched. Update as of November 11: Xiaomi has already released MIUI 12 across various ROMs except the European variants which are yet waiting for the update.  According to Alvin Tse who is the Xiaomi’s GM in Indonesia, the update will arrive very soon. Update as of November 13: Turns out the wait for Xiaomi Redmi 9 Pro European users is over as the MIUI 12 update is finally arriving on the device with an extensive changelog and more on-board. The update is available with version number V12.0.1.0.QJZEUXM and it is rolling out with Android 10 (of course) and via OTA so do wait for some time to get it. Update as of November 16: According to a Xiaomi device team member, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro is now rolling out in Europe on a wider scale starting in a few days if there’s no bugs or issues found in the current rollout which was staggered. [Source]

Update as of November 16:  According to the update, Redmi Note 9 Pro are facing “Find Device Closed Unexpectedly” error on their devices when paired with Airtel subscription. According to the users, their Redmi Note 9 Pro is undergoing continuous rebooting. Apparently, this issue has been acknowledged by both Xiaomi and Airtel and the latter is working towards fixing the issue to the earliest. Airtel has made some tweaks to the Airtel Thanks app which is said to be the culprit causing the issue at the first place. Be patient as the update is on its way.

Redmi Note 9 Pro Max

Update as of August 27: The sibling to Redmi Note 9 series, the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max released in India is facing the same issue as the former as it hasn’t received the MIUI 12 update yet. Users took it to the internet seeking the answer on when Redmi Note 9 Pro Max gets the update. This is when a Device Team member answered a query on Redmi Note 9 Pro Max getting an MIUI 12. According to him, there’s no information on the MIUI 12 stable updates. This has left the Note 9 Pro Max waiting for further updates. [Source]

Update as of September 5: According to a Xiaomi moderator, Xiaomi had to build MIUI 12 for Redmi Note 9 Pro Max from the ground up which is causing the delay. There’s no confirmation on when to expect MIUI 12 on Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, however, it should be released soon.

Update as of September 29: According to the Xiaomi Global COmmunity channel on Telegram, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Max in India has received MIUI 12 although it appears as a partial rollout for random users. The update bears version number V12.0.1.0.QJXINXM on-board although there’s no official announcement around the same. When asked on Mi Community, a moderator said that Note 9 Pro Max will be receiving MIUI 12 update soon. It is yet to be seen whether the partial rollout on Note 9 Pro Max is live or not. Poco X2

Poco X2 arrived with Android 10-based MIUI 12 out-of-the-box.

Update as of August 7: Poco has finally released the much-anticipated MIUI 12 skin to Poco X2 users with a version number MIUI 12.0.1.0.QGHINXM and it is an OTA rollout for a limited number of users. It has bypassed Mi Pilot testing and thus, arrives as a stable update for those who have intercepted or will intercept it shortly. It is being rolled out in limited quantities in India at first. Update as of August 8: Just a day after Poco released the MIUI 12 stable update to Poco X2 devices, it seems like the update has been pulled back. This comes from Xiaomi’s official handle on Telegram according to which they have pulled back the new firmware due to bugs and glitches. This could be because of the fact that Poco didn’t do any user testing and instead, released it as a stable update to the users. Xiaomi will release a new version carrying all the bug fixes with it for those who haven’t upgraded yet.  On the other hand, those who have already upgraded can either wait until the bug fixes arrive or stay on this version if the bugs aren’t causing much hassle. They can always roll back to the previous version.

Update as of August 17: Today, Xiaomi has re-released MIUI 12 build on Poco X2 with version number V12.0.1.0.QGHINXM weighing at 813MB. It is the same version number that was pulled back a few days ago due to some issues. The update is now resumed and soon, it will start rolling out via an OTA update that should take some time to arrive for its Indian users where the update is rolling out. Update as of September 8: Earlier today, Poco India GM confirmed that the MIUI 12 for Poco X2 has been released to all handsets across India. [Source]

Poco X3

Poco X3 is the last smartphone belonging to Xiaomi’s powerful sub-brand Poco. It sports the latest Snapdragon 732G SoC which just released. It sports a giant 6.6” display with a 120Hz resolution and a 5,160 mahA battery under the hood. The device sports a 64MP IMX686 primary sensor. It runs on the latest Android 10 out-of-the-box without any doubt.

Update as of November 16: If you are a Poco X3 user in India with Airtel subscription, you may have reported or at least heard of the issue triggering continuous rebooting. The users are seeing “Find Device Closed Unexpectedly” error after they upgraded to MIUI 12.05 according to a fellow user.

Apparently, the issue is with the Airtel Thanks app according to the official at Airtel who have acknowledged the issue and the fix is reportedly underway as it is being worked on by both Xiaomi and Airtel. Apparently, the Airtel Thanks app is the culprit and Airtel has already rolled out certain tweaks to fix the issue. It might take some time for the issue to be fixed and till then, users can try wiping all of the data to check if it works or not.

Update as of November 18: At the recent Poco AMA session where Manmohan Chandolu (GM, Poco India), and Anju Sharma (Country Director, Poco India), users asked queries and concerns that both the executives answered. It includes the call recording support that Poco X3 has added recently across all devices. Apart from that, when asked about the three years of Android OS updates, he said that they aren’t committing to it at this moment. Pocophone F2 Pro

Update as of June 19: Just before any of its variants could get the update, Xiaomi K30 Pro which is known as Poco F2 Pro outside China is finally getting the MIUI 12 via OTA bearing version number V12.0.1.0.QJKCNXM. you can download the new firmware by hitting the download button mentioned above.

Update as of July 13: Xiaomi said that both Poco F2 Pro and Redmi K30 Pro (same phone with different names) will get MIUI 12 beta updates consecutively, however, Redmi K30 Pro in China got the upgrade way earlier. Cut to now, Poco Global’s Product Marketing Manager Angus Kai Ho Ng took to Twitter and answered a question about when one can expect Poco F2 Pro to get MIUI 12. He said that it will be up by the end of this month. Additionally, this should also bring the Android 11 Beta 1 since Poco F2 Pro is enrolled in the Beta program.

Update as of July 15: Reports have started pouring in that Poco F2 Pro users in Europe are getting MIUI 12 bearing build number V12.0.1.0.QJKEUXM weighing at 1.1GB. This update is limited to users in the European continent and thus, users with a Global variant will have to wait some more. The update is being rolled as an OTA update although there’s a manual link to download the update manually.

Update as of July 24: Earlier today, Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro got it’s much-anticipated MIUI 12 for its global variant after waiting for so long. The Chinese variant aka Redmi K30 Pro already got the update and so did its Europe and Indonesia variant which left its global variant waiting for it. The update is available via OTA bumping the software to V12.0.1.0.QJKMIXM and it is available via OTA rollout. This means you need to wait until you receive it via notification that could take time. Update as of July 25: As in line with the scheduled rollout, Xiaomi has perhaps released MIUI 12 based on Android 10 on the Russian variant of Poco F2 Pro in an OTA rollout after the global variant upgraded to the firmware yesterday. Pocophone F1

The high-end specifications-fed Pocophone F1 became the first smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 845 octa-core 10nm processor in a budget range accompanied by Adreno 630 and 6/8GB RAM that allows it to process data at a lightning speed. As per now, it runs on Android Pie 9.0 stocked with MIUI 10.2.3 POCO UI and it is estimated to get the last major update i.e. Android 10 as well.

Update as of July 15: Poco F1 is about to get MIUI 12 shortly. But before that, Xiaomi or POCO has released a June 2020 Android security patch bearing software version number V11.0.8.0.QRJMIXM weighing at 154MB. The update will be rolled out manually but for those who are eager to get the security patch right away can use this link to manually install it.

Update as of July 22: Pocophone F1 along with Redmi Note 7 and Note 8 Pro entered into the MIUI 12 Pilot test recruitment. Now that the latter two have upgraded to MIUI 12 at least in some capacity and as a limited rollout at this moment, Pocophone F1 users had to wait for some more time. Update as of August 6: The stable MIUI 12 update for Poco F1 is going through a rough patch. As Poco decided not to go through Mi Pilot testing and release a stable version instead, it has bugs and glitches that need to be ironed out. Originally scheduled to release in August, there’s plenty of buzz around the update. However, a latest report stated that the update should arrive for testers in a week which will delay the public rollout without any doubt.

Update as of August 8: After stating that the MIUI 12 update on Poco F1 or Pocophone F1 could see potential delay as well, Poco India has finally confirmed that the update will arrive in the  next few weeks. Cut to another official post by Poco India on Telegram, the update could be delayed further as the company is finally working on a Pilot Testing program for Poco F1 to iron out the bugs and glitches before rolling out the stable update. Update as of August 10: Frequent delays and postpones did discourage Poco F1 users but at the end of the day, Poco F1 is finally intercepting the MIUI 12 update based on Android 10 but it is available for MI Pilot beta testers only. The update bears version number MIUI 12.0.0.3.QEJMIXM and it is a Global Mi Pilot stable update. It will arrive via OTA or you can download it here and flash it on your device. Note that it isn’t likely to run smoothly on non-Mi Pilot devices although you can sideload it to check and rollback to the previous version if anything bugs you.

Update as of August 15: After many episodes of delays in release dates and whatnot, the MIUI 12 is available for Poco F1 although it is meant for beta testers who have signed up for Mi Pilot program by Xiaomi. Beta testing before rolling out the update is crucial to iron out all the unnecessary bugs and glitches. A Xiaomi moderator took on the Global Pocophone Telegram group where he said that the testers shouldn’t share the MIUI 12 update package with others as the updates are only meant for testers. He added that normal people shouldn’t manually flash it given the fact it might contain a bug or two which requires fixing once the stable version is released to the public. [Source]

Update as of August 29: Poco F1 users had to wait for MIUI 12 for a long time given the fact that MIUI 12 build released for it was problematic. Update as of October 02: Poco F1 users have taken it to Twitter and other places to seek a timeline on when MIUI 12 will arrive on Poco F1. Although Xiaomi released MIUI 12 both globally and on its Indian version, both were tied to release on a limited number of devices and thus, mass users weren’t able to get the update before the MIUI 12 suspension was rolled out during China’s National Day holidays. Update as of October 03: Xiaomi released Poco Launcher with its Poco F1 in 2018 and has since updated it to Poco Launcher 2.0. The Poco Launcher 3.0 has been under development for months and Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed about its release yet. Poco users have taken to Twitter to discuss when the Poco Launcher 3.0 will arrive and the Chinese smartphone maker hasn’t yet revealed anything about it. Update as of October 09: After the last MIUI 12 global beta stable version failed to be bug-free and was pulled back, Xiaomi has re-released the MIUI 12 update bearing version number V12.0.2.0.QEJMIXM. It remains to be seen if the V12.0.2.0 fixes the bugs that were discovered the first time around. We were able to get the OTA package for the global stable version V12.0.2.0.QEJMIXM that will originally arrive via an airborne update. This is a limited update as it appears to be released for those upgraded to MIUI 12 V12.0.1.0 that had issues. There’s no update on when it will arrive for those on MIUI 12 on Poco F1. Update as of October 22: There’s a lot of buzz around Poco F1 or Pocophone F1 getting MIUI 12 as the update is still elusive. Countless users are asking Xiaomi about the MIUI 12 update but that remains unavailable. When asked about the update, a moderator said that the beta stable update on Poco F1 could take a week or two although there’s no ETA. This is particular in terms of the V12.0.2.0 Fastboot ROM that is available at the moment.

Update as of October 27: Poco F1 and MIUI 12 haven’t been able to combine yet thanks to the countless bugs, issues, delays, and whatnot that has plagued the MIUI 12 upgrade on the device. With MIUI V12.0.2, Poco F1 got its share of MIUI 12 again but it was problematic as well. Turns out, a new V12.0.2 build has arrived on Poco F1 with Fastboot and Recovery. Update as of October 29: The MIUI 12 update on Poco F1 has seen a lot of issues ever since it was released in a limited fashion and then re-released and then released on a wide scale. Of all the features and apps that the Government of India banned recently, the Mi Video app was one of the app that was removed. Turns out users are rooting for the app as it allows editing slow motion videos. For now, users cannot edit slow motion videos on their Poco F1 as there’s no alternative to Mi Video app till now.

Update as of November 10: Xiaomi introduced an App Vault of tools and apps that are frequently used on-board MIUI 9.2. Now we are at MIUI 12 and the App Vault is still active and operating for 14 categories and apps including YouTube, However, it has been brought to our notice that the YouTube app on Pocophone F1 or Poco F1 under the App Vault is no longer available.

There’s no official confirmation about the removal and neither the Chinese OEM has confirmed its removal. On the other hand, a Mi Community m moderator said that the app was removed from App Vault due to some bugs. He added that he is unsure if the app will be added in App Vault or not. It remains to be seen if App Vault loses a must-have app or not. Meanwhile Poco F1 can still use YouTube via its standalone app on the ap drawer. [Source 1, 2]

Update as of January 12: Poco F1 is now getting an incremental update from MIUI 12.0.2.0.QEJMIXM based on Android 10 in India (and global) to the latest MIUI 12.0.3.0.QEJMIXM. You can download the update here. It comes along with an updated system security patch but overall, a strange changelog.

Poco M2

Update as of September 18: Poco M2 hasn’t yet intercepted the MIUI 12 update and so did its Pro variant. Even though Poco M2 is eligible for MIUI 12, it arrives a few days with MIUI 11 out-of-the-box. Perhaps the wait for Poco M2 users won’t be much longer given the fact that it’s identical twin Global Redmi 9, Redmi 9 Prime in India have intercepted the MIUI 12 update as well. However, the mystery is mounting and there are tonnes of reports of users asking for MIUI 12 on their Poco M2.

Update as of December 30: Based on the latest information available, Poco M2 is intercepting the much-anticipated Android 10-based MIUI 12 bearing version number V12.0.1.0.QJRINXM on-board in India. Poco M2 Pro

Update as of July 15: For all those Poco M2 Pro users, Xiaomi has released a new patch to its users. This comes from Xiaomi Firmware Updater announcing it on Twitter. Here’s the link to manually download the software version number V11.0.2.0.QJPINXM weighing at 3.1GB.

Update as of July 27: Although Poco M2 Pro is still waiting for MIUI 12, it has received several security patches over a couple of weeks. M2 Pro has already upgraded to the security patch released earlier and now, it is getting another security patch i.e. June 2020. The update has arrived on Indian variant with the version number V11.0.3.0.QJPINXM. Poco M2 Pro is scheduled to get MIUI 12 in the second phase which will end later this month. [Download]

Update as of September 21: Poco M2 Pro was released in July with Android 10-based MIUI 11 out-of-the-box. Ever since, users have been waiting eagerly for the MIUI 12 upgrade but it has since remained elusive. Users have penned tweets and posts on Twitter and various community forums asking for MIUI 12 update on Poco M2 Pro. Update as of September 25: MIUI 12 is still elusive on Poco M2 Pro. As per the second session of POCOAMA featuring Manmohan Chanolu (GM, Poco India), and Anuj Sharma (Country Head, Poco India), the Poco M2 Pro will get Poco UI based on MIUI 12 is in the works. Update as of September 30: The Director of Poco India – Anuj Sharma – has confirmed via a tweet that although Poco M2 Pro is getting MIUI 12, it is rolling out in batches and thus, users may have to wait for a while to get the airborne update as OTA notifications are notorious for taking days to finally arrive on eligible devices. Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro

You wouldn’t suspect the latest Redmi Note 7 Pro to get Android 10 update because it will. It offers a 4/6GB RAM option while powered by Snapdragon 675 octa-core SoC and an Adreno 612 GPU. It runs on Android Pie 9.0 based MIUI 10 which is fluid and smooth and so will be the next version that will be based on Android 10. The Note 7 Pro sports a dual 48+5MP sensor while the front is dominated by 13MP and that’s all within an INR16,000 or 200 EUR mark which is made it a popular smartphone this year after it sold millions of units upon listing.

Update as of April 27: Xiaomi will kick start rolling out MIUI 12 beta on Redmi Note7 Pro along with a tonne of other phones in the Mi and Redmi lineups. This is for the Chinese variant.

Update as of July 18: Redmi Note 7 Pro arrived with Android 9.0 based MIUI 10. No doubt it will get Android 10 but when? Well, turns out Xiaomi Note 7 Pro is already under the beta testing phase in India as per a comment made by Xiaomi’s moderator on its forum. Update as of July 20: According to MIUI’s official Weibo handle, MIUI 12 will soon roll out to eligible devices in the second phase and Redmi Note 7 Pro is likely a part of it. The update could arrive as early as by the end of this month.

Update as of July 28: After going through various markets, the much-anticipated MIUI 12 update for Redmi Note 7 Pro is now available in India as well. However, this is limited to those who signed up for the Mi Pilot program that recruited beta testers a few weeks ago. Update as of August 28: Today, Xiaomi has re-released the Android 10 update bundled with MIUI 11 in India. The update arrives with version number MIUI V11.0.2.0.QFHNIXM weighing at a whopping 2.0GB in size. This means the device is yet to get MIUI 12 update so let’s hope it arrives soon.

Update as of September 1: Xiaomi re-released an update on Redmi Note 7 Pro that was an MIUI 11 upgrade which means users had to wait for some more time to get MIUI 12. Apparently, the said MIUI 11 was based on Android 10 and it underwent rollout recently. When users took to online forums asking when to expect Android 10 on their Note 7 Pro given the fact that it was an Android 10. A Xiaomi moderator on Xiaomi community said that the update is still in a limited rollout phase. Update as of August 31: Redmi Note 7 Pro hasn’t received MIUI 12 yet. There’s no update based on which users have taken it to the Mi Community on Twitter concerning the update and yet to no avail. There’s no official word about the same as of now.  [Source]

Update as of September 19: The Redmi Note 7 Pro is now getting MIUI 12 upgrade in India bearing version number V12.0.1.0.QFHINXM readily available via OTA rollout although it will be in batches without any doubt. Update as of September 19 (#2): Turns out the MIUI 12 update on Redmi Note 7 Pro that we mentioned earlier is limited to beta testers only. The OTA for non-beta testers is yet to be rolled out.

Update as of September 28: Just like Note 7/7S, the Note 7 Pro is also elusive of MIUI 12 and that is where a new update comes as a relief. Apparently, Xiaomi has confirmed releasing MIUI 12 to all devices by the end of October and that includes Note 7 Pro as well.

Update as of October 4: The Redmi Note 7 Pro had received MIUI 12 in China and India although it was met with a partial rollout. Thus, a wild rollout would take some time. However, users have taken it to Twitter asking Xiaomi when to expect MIUI 12 on a wider scale. However, Xiaomi has been mum on the situation and hasn’t provided any response as of now. Update as of October 7: When asked about MIUI 12 Indian ROM on Redmi Note 7 Pro which did release earlier, a mod asked the user to upgrade to MIUI 11 ROM although for unknown reasons. [Source]

Update as of October 10: It took Xiaomi a month to release MIUI 12 on Note 7 Pro in India after its Chinese variant got the update and turned out it was a limited rollout. Cut to now, the same version 12.0.1.0.QFHINXM is now rolling out on Note 7 Pro on a wider scale in India. The update weighing at 722MB is releasing at random in batches and thus, Note 7 Pro users will get the update shortly although they will have to wait for some time.(Source)

Update as of January 25: As pointed out by a popular Telegram channel on Telegram, Xiaomi is slated to end development version internal beta test on Redmi Note 7 Pro on April 24. This means that the Android 11 rollout is likely not happening although there’s still hope for MIUI 12.5 that should arrive by then. [Source]

Update as of April 24: After the internal development testing phase ended today, the Redmi Note 7 Pro is now getting MIUI v21.4.21 update which is based on MIUI 12.5 and Android 10. Xiaomi Redmi Note 7

Note 7 was launched in January 2019 and comes in two trims i.e. 48+5MP (Global) and 12+2MP (India). It features a humongous 6.3-inch IPS LCD display with 1080×2340 pixels resolution. It runs on Snapdragon 660 octa-core SoC with Adreno 512 and 3/4/6GB RAM and a storage option maxing at 128GB. Since it came with MIUI based on Android 9.0 Pie, it is estimated to receive an Android 10 update without fail although we are still to determine the timeline yet.

Update as of July 10: Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 is still awaiting Android 10 based MIUI 11 although we have seen the internal beta builds for the first half earlier as well. Turns out Xiaomi is testing out Android 10 stable updates to a handful of users in India. The rollout will be limited and random in order to test Android 10 on Note 7. The update bears software version number V11.0.2.0 QFGINXM with June 2020 security patch onboard.

Update as of July 18: The same moderator who said that beta testing is ongoing on Redmi Note 7 Pro India commented that the global beta testing for Redmi Note 7 is ongoing. Unfortunately, it isn’t for India and thus, Global users will get the use it once Xiaomi rolls the stable version of course in batches.

Update as of July 20: Talking about Android 10, it is finally rolling out on Redmi Note 7 devices as we speak. The update was confirmed by Xiaomi itself after an announcement and it is rolling out for Chinese and Global variant where the latter has an MIUI V11.0.1.0.QFGMIXM with July 2020 security patch. Note this update does bring Android 10 onboard but the MIUI 12 is still unavailable. The update has since arrived in China, India, Indonesia among clothes. [Source]

Update: According to the latest update, MIUI 12 is set to official rollout to the second phase of devices. It is likely to roll out by the end of this year and Redmi Note 7 is likely a part of it given a previous report mentioned it.

Update as of July 30: After retracting the said Android 10-based MIUI 11 V11.0.1.0.QFLCNXM in Indian and Global variants last month, Xiaomi has re-released the update to Redmi 7 devices. Update as of July 31: After more than a month of under beta program, the Indian variant of Note 7 is finally getting its much-anticipated MIUI 12 stable update. Update as of August 13: The Note 7 from Xiaomi is now getting an Android 10 based MIUI 11 upgrade on its Russian unit as of today. Update as of August 14: The Android 10-based MIUI 11 is now rolling out for the folks in Europe bearing version number 11.0.1.0.QFGEUXM on a wider scale via OTA. Update as of August 24: The Redmi Note 7 in China has already upgraded to MIUI 12 in China. However, it is yet to roll out the update for the global and Indian variant where the update for the latter is currently in Mi Pilot program and thus, limited in user base. Update as of August 27: Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has suspended rolling out MIUI 20.8.27 citing stability issues. The update has since been pulled back and Xiaomi will resolve the issue before releasing the next update. [Source]

Update as of August 31: Based on the latest news around Note 7 and MIUI 12, unfortunately, there’s no official word on the phone getting MIUI 12 upgrade on its global ROM. Update as of September 17: The Chinese Redmi Note 7 got its MIUI 12 upgrade back in July while the Indian version got the update albeit to a limited number of users. It has been three months and the global Redmi Note 7 hasn’t received any MIUI 12 update yet. A user posted an image showing MIUI 12 logo on top of MIUI 11 version number that was later clarified as a server-side glitch. When asked when exactly the global users will get MIUI 12, a moderator on Mi Community simply said that the MII 12 build on Redmi Note 7 is under internal testing and it will be rolled out once the testing is complete. Update as of April 24: The dreaded days for internal beta testing of MIUI 12.5 is now over on Redmi Note 7. It is perhaps the device is now intercepting MIUI 21.4.21 as a China Beta update. Xiaomi Redmi Y3

Introduced as an entry-level smartphone, Xiaomi Redmi Y3 sports a Snapdragon 632 octa-core SoC along with 3/4GB RAM and storage expandable up to 1TB. It packed in the entry-level dual 12+2MP rear and a 32MP front sensor while being protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It supports 4G and it is splash resistant backed with Adreno 506 GPU and runs on MIUI 9 based on Android Pie 9.0 and hopefully, we will be getting an Android 10 update early next year if not early.

Update as of July 15: After Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro, folks using Redmi Y3 can enjoy a happy upgrade to Android 10. The software version number V11.0.1.0.QFLCNXM is a Android 10 stable ROM for users in China. It is clear that Y3 users outside China are yet to get the upgrade. Xiaomi Redmi K20

The high-end Redmi K20 is an all-arounder higher mid-range device that packs in Snapdragon 730 8nm chipset along with Adreno 618 GPU, 6/8GB of RAM and 64/128/256GB of internal storage with UFS2.1 storage tech. The device sports a 6.39-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080×2340 pixels resolution and has a Corning Gorilla Glass 5. With Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box, the device is upgradable to Android 10-based MIUI 11 and will get the update starting on October 22 and should arrive on your devices in a week or two.

Update: Xiaomi Redmi K20 is a rebranded version of Mi 9T in China and as the info mentioned above, Redmi K20 is already pushing an OTA update of Android 10-based MIUI 12 in China while the Indian rollout is expected about two weeks later. Update as of August 4: Just as the Chinese/Global variant Mi 9T, the Indian variant of the phone called as Redmi K20 is picking up another MIUI 12 Stable update today. The update bearing software version number V12.0.3.0.QFJINXM bumps up the firmware from V12.0.2.0 and arrives with the latest July 2020 security patch with it. Update as of October 24: The Indian counterpart of Mi 9T called as Redmi K20 is now getting a new update bearing version V12.0.5.0.QFJINXM. The update brings Control Center on-board MIUI 12 on Redmi K20 with fixed landscape mode that was earlier a problem as reported by users. Xiaomi Redmi Note 7S

Next up is the Redmi Note 7S, the device sports a colossal 6.3-inch IPS LCD with 1080×2340 pixels resolution and has a Snapdragon 660 SoC. It features a 48+5MP rear camera sensor along with a 13MP front sensor and has a 32/64GB of internal storage with 3/4GB of RAM options available at your disposal. The device falls in a mid-range category and it was launched alongside its siblings Note 7, Note 7 Pro, etc.

Update as of July 10: Just as Note 7, the Redmi Note 7S is awaiting Android 10 and MIUI 12 upgrade. Perhaps this will rejoice users as the stable version of Android 10 has arrived on Note 7S devices albeit in a limited and random rollout in India. This will be followed by a mass or staged rollout once the random rollout is approved.

Update as of July 18: The MIUI 12 based on Android 10 is right around the corner. As per a moderator on Xiaomi’s Community forum, the Xiaomi Note 7S is undergoing a beta testing phase for its global variant. Though there’s no ETA available, Redmi Note 7S should get the update sometime soon in batches.

Xiaomi Redmi 7

Xiaomi Redmi 7 is a mid-range device that packs in a 6.26-inch IPS LCD panel with an HD display and has a 16/32/64GB of internal storage variants while the RAM options available with it are 2/3/4GB. The phone has a 12+2MP rear dual camera setup with a single 12MP front selfie camera tucked in a teardrop-shaped notch. Launched with Android 7.0 Nougat, the device is eligible for Android 10-based MIUI 11 and should start getting the update via OTA in few days.

Update as of October 26: Xiaomi Redmi 7 was earlier expected to get MIUI 12 upgrade on October 25 as per a previous report but it isn’t available as of now. Cut to now, an alleged chat conversation between a Xiaomi owner and Xiaomi support suggests that the MIUI 12 on Redmi 7 is expected to arrive by the end of this year. There’s no fixed date or ETA but rather a timeline that gives Xiaomi two months to release the much-anticipated upgrade although it isn’t confirmed yet.

Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro

Update as of June 23: Just as its global equivalent got the MIUI 12 update, the Chinese Redmi K20 Pro is too, receiving the Android 10-based MIUI 12 stable as we speak. It is available with the software version number V12.0.2.0.QFKCNXM while the units with build number V11.0.8.0.QFKCNXM will be able to upgrade to the latest version. Just as Mi 9T Pro, the MIUI 12 stable update on Redmi K20 Pro is rolled out airborne in batches so you might have to wait for some time to get it.

Update as of July 01: Based on the latest announcement made by MIUI’s official handle, the Redmi K20 Pro is finally getting a full-fledged MIUI 12 update although there’s no intel if its available for all regions.

Update as of July 20: After finishing the rollout of MIUI 12 V12.0.1.0, Xiaomi has re-released MIUI 12 V12.0.2 which brings a few improvements over the previous version. You can download the same using this link.

Update as of August 14: Apparently, Xiaomi released yet another beta update for MIUI 12 bearing version number 20.8.14 which brings a few fixes. However, Xiaomi has realized that the update has some stability issues, and thus, the Chinese OEM has delayed the rollout until it isn’t fixed. Redmi K20 Pro is one of the three devices to test the update before any other devices. Xiaomi hasn’t provided any ETA on when we can expect the update but you can stay tuned here for updates.

Xiaomi Redmi 6

Xiaomi Redmi 6 is the base variant of the Redmi 6 series and brings a 5.45-inch IPS LCD with a 5MP front and 12+5MP rear camera setup. The device packs in MediaTek Helio P22 unlike its Pro variant and has up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage available with a dedicated microSD card slot. The device was originally rolled out Android 8.1 Oreo and upgraded to Android 9.0 and now, it will start getting the Android 10 update starting November 4th so simply check out the update once you get it and comment on your response.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro

Mi A2 Lite was a rebranded version of Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro where the latest lacks Android One support. Although almost all the specifications are the same, it is still a non-Android One device and it is expected to start getting Android 10-based MIUI 11 starting November 4 to 12 although it could take several weeks for it to completely spread across all devices in China.

Update as of August 6: The Chinese Redmi 6 Pro which is also known as Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite (the latter is Android One) is finally getting its MIUI 12 stable upgrade based on Android 9.0 as it won’t get any update after Android 9.0. The update is rolling out for devices in China via OTA and should take some time to arrive on your phone. Xiaomi Redmi 6A

Xiaomi Redmi 6A ships with slightly lower specs such as 16/32GB of internal storage paired with 2/3GB of RAM options. The device has a 5.45-inch IPS LCD HD panel with an Helio A22 octa-core processor. It has a single rear 13MP sensor alongside a single 5MP front selfie shooter while many of the connectivity features and sensors are the same as Redmi 6A.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5

Also known as Redmi Note 5 Plus, the Redmi Note 5 has two variants i.e. one launched in February 2018 with 32/64GB internal storage, 3/4GB RAM, Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, and a single 12MP rear and 5MP front camera setup. On the other hand, another is called Redmi Note 5 AI Dual Camera which comes with 32/64GB of internal storage flanked with up to 6GB of RAM and was rolled out with Android 8.0 Oreo. Although it is slated to get it’s Android 10-based MIUI 11 starting November 4th, it remains a question if both the variants get their Android 10 update or not.

Update as of April 27: Apparently, Xiaomi has already suspended MIUI 11 beta  updates and with today’s update, it has claimed that the MIUI 12 weekly beta update on a string of models that includes Redmi Note 5 as well, will commence on May 8. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro

Launched last year in February, the Pro-variant of Note 5 packs in a larger 5.99-inch IPS LCD panel with 1080×2160 pixels resolution. Under the hood, the device pairs along a mid-range Snapdragon 636 SoC along with Adreno 509 GPU and has up to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage at your disposal. The device is listed by Xiaomi in Phase 2 of the massive Android 10-based MIUI 11 rollout and should get its update starting November 4th although the date it will arrive on your device could change due to several factors involved such as region, carrier, etc.

Xiaomi Redmi 5

Xiaomi Redmi 5 is a budget-category smartphone and brings Snapdragon 450 octa-core on-board along with 2/3/4GB of RAM and 16/32/64GB of internal storage. The device was released with Android 7.1.2 Nougat out-of-the-box and it is slated to get bumped to Android 10-based MIUI 11 starting November 4th although the time it arrives on your device could take a while so expect it to arrive on all your Redmi 5 devices by Q2 or Q3 of 2020.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A

Xiaomi Redmi 5A is a budget smartphone that was released with Snapdragon 425 28nm octa-core processor on-board along with Adreno 308 GPU, 2/3GB of RAM and 16/32GB of internal storage. The device was released in November 2017 alongside Redmi 5 and it is expected to boost to Android 10-based MIUI 11 starting November 4 and could get the update sometime between Q1 2020 to Q2 2020, or it even go to Q3 2020.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4

The phone has a Snapdragon 625 SoC on-board flanked with 3/4GB of RAM, 32/64GB of internal storage. 5It is surprising to see how Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, released on January 2017, is expected to Android 10-based MIUI 11. Note that the device was released with Android 6.0 Marshmallow when it was launched which is interesting because it is either getting its fourth major update or Xiaomi decided to skip one or two in between taking it from Android 7.0 Nougat directly to Android 10. Although the rollout scheduled for this device is starting on November 4th and it could arrive sometime later next year.

Xiaomi Redmi Y1

Xiaomi Redmi Y1 is another budget phone from the Chinese smartphone maker. It brings Snapdragon 435 SoC at 1.4 GHz with Adreno 505 GPU, 3/4GB RAM, 32/64GB of internal storage and so on. The phone was released with Android 7.1.2 Nougat out-of-the-box and will be getting bumped to Android 10-based MIUI 11 starting November 4 already the actual date of it arriving on your device could differ and could get the update by Q2 or Q3 2020 or a bit late depending on the region, carrier, model, etc.

Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Lite

Lite version of Redmi Y1, the Redmi Y1 Lite sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD HD display with 267 pixels PPI. It has 2GB RAM along with Snapdragon 425 SoC and 3,080 mAh battery and was launched with Android 7.0 Nougat. Interestingly enough, it is slated to get its dose of Android 10-based MIUI 11 update starting November 4th although the update could reach sometime in Q2 or Q3 2020 or even a little later depending upon carrier, region, etc.

Xiaomi Redmi Y2

Also called as Redmi S2 globally, the Redmi Y2 has now doubted successor to Redmi Y1 and brings an upgraded Snapdragon 625 mid-range chipset on-board. The device is powered by a 3/4GB RAM and 32/64GB of internal storage and has a 5.99-inch IPS LCD HD display. Finally, the phone was released with Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box and has since received Android 9.0 Pie and is in tow to get Android 10-based MIUI 11 starting November 4th already the date it arrives on your phone may vary.

Update as of August 6: The Redmi S2 budget phone which is known as Redmi Y2 in India is getting its MIUI 12 upgrade today. It is still based on Android 9 and bears version number V12.0.4.0.PEFCNXM in China. It is released via OTA and thus, it should take some time to reach your device. Xiaomi Redmi 4

Also summoned as Remi 4X in China, Redmi 4 is a budget-category smartphone and comes with Snapdragon 425 SoC alongside up to 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device is running on MIUI 10 and will be getting its MIUI 11 update which is Android 10-based starting on November 13 through 26 although the date when it arrives on your device may vary and could arrive in Q2 and Q3 in 2020.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro

Update as of April 7: Apparently, the chances of Redmi Note 6 Pro getting the Android 10 upgrade are very slim. This is because Redmi devices are subjected to get one major Android OS upgrade in their lifetime and Note 6 Pro has already upgraded to Pie from Oreo. Furthermore, a Xiaomi moderator took it to Mi Community answering a question on Note 6 Pro getting Android 10 according to which the phone will not see any update. [Source]

Update as of September 4: After a few months of hinting that Note 6 Pro not getting Android 10, there is a new update in the story. It is based on MIUI 12 upgrade on the existing Android 9.0 Pie. Apparently, the update is expected to arrive sometime at the end of September or October as per a Super Moderator on Mi Community Forum. Xiaomi Redmi 7A

Redmi 7A is a budget phone with Snapdragon 439 octa-core SoC clocked at max 2.0 GHz max frequency with Adreno 505 GPU. The device hosts a 5.45-inch IPS LCD panel with 295 PPI, 720×1440 pixels resolution and runs on Android 9.0 Pie-based MIUI 10.2.7. The device will be bumped to Android 10-based MIUI 11 starting on November 13 through November 26 and must arrive on your device by Q2 or Q3 2020.

Xiaomi Redmi 7A started getting Android 10-based MIUI 11 earlier this month as a global stable update bearing version number V11.0.1.0.QCMCNXM. Update as of June 29: As of the latest update, Redmi 7A started getting the Android 10 stable update on June 20 in Europe, however, it was rolled out only to release today bearing version number 11.0.2.0.QCMEUXM with the latest June 2020 security patch. Update as of January 6: Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is now seeding MIUI 12 update on Redmi 7A in China with version number 12.0.2.0.QCMXNCM. It is based on Android 10. You can download the firmware here or wait for the OTA rollout that has begun and will arrive on the Chinese variant soon.

Xiaomi Redmi 8

Xiaomi Redmi 8 released in October 2019 and hosts a 6.22-inch IPS LCD panel and has a 720×1520 pixel resolution with 270 PPI. The phone runs on Snapdragon 439 octa-core processor with Adreno 505 GPU and a 3/4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of internal storage. The phone has a dual 12+2MP rear sensors while the front has an 8MP selfie camera shooter. The phone runs on MIUI 9-based Android 9.0 Pie and it is up for a massive upgrade to Android 10 slated to start between November 13 through 26.

Update as of June 29: Redmi 8 from Xiaomi recently started getting the stable Android 10-based MIUI 11 in China bearing version number 11.0.1.0.QCNCNXM. It isn’t a MIUI 12 upgrade although the device is scheduled to get the MIUI 12 upgrade starting July 2020 as a part of Xiaomi’s second round of MIUI 12 rollout. The Android 10 stable update is available in China with the latest June 2020 security patch and will be sent out via OTA in a phased manner or you can click here to download and install it right away. Users outside China will have to wait until the update arrives for them as well.

Update as of August 4: It’s not the first time Redmi 8 is picking up Android 10 but this time around, it’s the Android 10 with a bumped MIUI 11 global stable firmware releasing on Redmi 8 devices in China. Update as of October 26: Originally expected to get MIUI 12 upgrade on October 22, it didn’t materialize and Redmi 8 users are still waiting for the update. Cut to now, an alleged chat between a Xiaomi rep and a Xiaomi owner hints that the MIUI 12 on Redmi  8 is likely arriving by the end of this year. There’s no ETA or fixed date but rather a two months timeline wherein Redmi 8 is expected to get the much awaited upgrade.

Update as of January 4: After a lot of buzz around MIUI 12, Xiaomi Redmi 8 is scheduled to get MIUI 12 in early January 2021 although there’s no specific date available. Finally, Redmi 8 is now getting MIUI 12 bearing version 12.0.3.0.QCOMIXM and with Android 10 OS update and with the latest January 2021 security patch with it. This is a global stable rollout. Xiaomi Redmi 8A

Redmi 8A is a bit of a watered-down version of standard Redmi 8. It has a slightly smaller 6.2-inch IPS LCD panel with 720×1520 pixels resolution along with a 19:9 aspect ratio, 271 PPI. The phone packs in Snapdragon 439 octa-core processor flanked with 2/3GB of RAM and has 32/64GB of internal storage option. The device is slated to get it’s Android 10 upgrade starting November 13 in Xiaomi’s third phase so we can expect it sometime in Q2 or Q3 2020 across all Redmi 8A devices.

Update as of July 8: Xiaomi Redmi 8A arrives with Android 9.0 Pie based MIUI 11 out-of-the-box. This means it is likely to get at least one major upgrade to Android 10. The Android 10 upgrade for Redmi was reportedly being tested, however, the mist around the phone getting a second major upgrade i.e. Android 11 is cleared. Update as of August 29: Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has announced that Redmi 8A will get MIUI 12, however, the latest update has arrived thereby prompting users to wait for longer. The update has a version number V11.0.1.0.QCPIDXM  and it is an airborne update. You can download the new firmware from this link or wait for the airborne update. This also means you will have to wait longer for MIUI 12 to arrive.

Update as of January 8: According to the latest development, Redmi 8A is now intercepting android 10-based MIUI 12 builds in China and Europe at the time of writing this. Xiaomi Redmi 8A Dual

Update as of July 13: Redmi 8A Dual users have eagerly waited for the Android 10 update, however, it seems like users will have to wait some more. Turns out, Redmi 8A Dual has started intercepting a new update bearing version number V11.08.0.PCQINXM with June 2020 security update. Moreover, according to an update, Redmi 8A Dual is likely to intercept MIUI 12 based Android 10 update in August while the Android 11 is not on the cards to be sure.

Update as of September 2: Xiaomi is finally serving Android 10 upgrade on Redmi 8A Dual in India. The update bears MIUI 11 with version number V11.0.1.0.QCQINXM weighing at 1.6GB. The update brings Android 10-based MIUI 11 on-board so the MIUI 12 is still far. The update arriving with the August 2020 security patch is rolling out via OTA or you can simply tap here to download the firmware package and flash it manually.

Update as of September 9: After arriving in India, the Android 10 is now rolling out on Xiaomi Redmi 8A Dual in Indonesia. The update bears software version V11.0.1.0.QCDIDXM available via OTA that could take a few hours or even days to correspond on all the units. Update as of October 26: Redmi 8A Dual is still waiting for MIUI 12 upgrade. Turns out it could arrive sometime this week or maybe in the coming few weeks. This comes from Xiaomi support after a user posted a screenshot of the same. Since Redmi 7 series and 8 series are slated to get their due MIUI 12 updates at a slightly delayed tc9imeline, one could argue Redmi 8A Dual to follow the suit as well. Moreover, take it with a pinch of salt at this moment.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 8

Redmi Note 8 was launched in the year 2019 with Android 9.0 Pie and promised to receive the Android 10 update. The device has not received any major updates yet.
Update as of October 6: MIUI 12 is still elusive on Redmi Note 8 but perhaps it won’t be anymore. The Redmi Note 8 is getting Android 9-based update with no security patch and a minor bug fixes. Apparently, it is touted as a preparatory update towards MIUI 12. The new update carries build number V11.0.11.0.PCOMIXM and it is available via OTA. According to the later update, the MIUI 12 will arrive soon although there’s no OTA available. Update as of October 9: There are a handful of smartphones that are still waiting for MIUI 12 and Redmi Note 8 is one of them. A recent update coming from Xiaomi Customer Support suggests that the MIUI 12 build on the Note 8 is in testing phase. The executive mentioned that the testing is 90% done which means the testing phase is about to end. Once it does, Xiaomi will release a stable version around the middle of this month. Although there’s no ETA or any exact date available, one could argue that the update could arrive around October 20 when Redmi Note 9, Note 9S, and Note 9 Pro (global) are scheduled to intercept the update.  [Source]

Update as of October 10: The Chinese variant of Redmi Note 8 already received the MIUI 12 update. Perhaps the variants outside China haven’t received the update yet. Cut to now, a Xiaomi customer support said that the MIUI 12 has been already released. However, we haven’t intercepted any reports from users confirming the interception and thus, you need to take it with a pinch of salt.  He mentioned that the updates are released in batches and since the user base is huge, the rollout takes time. This puts it in line with a previous report where Xiaomi confirmed that it will release MIUI 12 across all the Xiaomi devices that haven’t received the update yet. [Source]

Update as of October 26: We earlier heard that Redmi Note 8 could get MIUI 12 upgrade which of course didn’t materialize. Users are still waiting for the update and yet it remains elusive but the anticipation is still high. According to Alvin Tse, the Xiaomi GM, the Redmi Note 8 could get MIUI 12 in November. He said that the developers are working on some optimizations w.r.t. MIUI 12 before releasing the same. Since it is coming from a high-ranking executive, it holds weight but we are left with the words and no ETA around it except the fact that it will arrive in November this year. [Source]

Update as of October 28: Finally, the Redmi Note 8 global variant is picking up MIUI 12 upgrade as we speak. The update arrives with version number 12.0.1.0.QCOMIXM with September 2020 security patch along with it. The users can either wait for its OTA rollout that should arrive soon although it is always in batch manner so expect a bit of delay. On the contrary, you can upgrade right away by downloading the firmware here and upgrading to the same.

Update as of November 2: Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 global ROM already got the Android 10-based MIUI 12 upgrade a while ago. It missed some of the issues that were listed on Mi Community as well. Apparently, the Chinese OEM has acknowledged these missing features and a feedback team member said that the missing features might be added in the future builds. Note that the statement says it is not guaranteed but it remains to be seen when exactly the update arrives on Redmi Note 8. Some of the notable missing features are floating window, Gallery, and animations. There’s no ETA on its release as of now but we’ll update this section once more information is available. [Source]

Update as of November 4: As per the latest development, the Redmi Note 8 is now picking up MIUI 12 officially with Recovery and Fastboot ROMs as we speak. The update brings MIUI V12.0.1.0.QCOMIXM on the global variant of Redmi Note 8 on-board.

Update as of November 10: The Chinese variant of Redmi Note 8 was the first one to pick up MIUI 12  followed by the global version. Turns out the Redmi Note 8 is now intercepting Android 10-based MIUI 12 update with model number 12.0.1.0.QCOINXM. The update weighs at 2.0GB and has started releasing on Note 8 units in India with an October 2020 security patch along with it. The update as typical is arriving via OTA to the Indian variant. Update as of November 18: AS per the latest update coming from a Xiaomi-focused group on instant messaging app Telegram, Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 is now intercepting MIUI 12 bearing firmware version number V12.0.2.0.QCOMIXM. This has yanked the MIUI version from V11 to V12. [Source]

Update as of November 21: Unfortunately, the MIUI 12.0.1.0  that rolled out for Redmi Note 8 global users has been rolled back. This was updated on Mi Community forum where a moderator posted the same as a response to a user query. Users will not be able to upgrade to MIUI 12 until Xiaomi doesn’t rolls out the next update. Update as of November 24: The MIUI 12 on the global Redmi Note 8 was pulled back due to some issues just a few days ago. Cut to now, Xiaomi has released a new version of its MIUI 12 build with version V12.0.2.0.QCOMIXM with a download size of 2.1GB. The update brings MIUI 12 on-board the global variant of the device but still based on Android 10. Update as of December 17: Unlike any other models, Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 was able to upgrade to MIUI 12 in China and on its global ROM in September, however, it had to retract the MIUI 12 global as global users running on MIUI 11.0.1.0 were not able to upgrade to MIUI 12 citing some bugs. Xiaomi was quick to patch it up with another MIUI 12 update with version MIUI 12.0.2.0 but that didn’t work either. It had to settle to MIUI 11 as the update was released until a fix is provided.

Cut to now, moderator on Mi community has stated that Xiaomi will push out MIUI 12 global update on Redmi Note 8 in the first week of January 2021 that should get users excited for sure. Update as of December 21: After beating around the bush, Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 is finally getting the much-awaited MIUI 12 upgrade based on Android 10 on its global ROM with version V12.0.1.0.QCNMIXM. Update as of January 13: Based on the latest information, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has released the second closed beta build based on MIUI 12.5 on Android 11 for the Redmi Note 8 in China. Update as of February 20: According to the latest update, the Redmi Note 8 is now getting an Android 11-powered update on its Chinese variant. Update as of January 13: Well, if you were a happy Redmi Note 8 Pro user thinking that the MIUI 12.5 would actually excite you since it was released yesterday, you are mistaken. Apparently, the company has pulled back the MIUI 12.5 beta build from reaching Redmi Note 8 Pro due to ongoing issues with its stability and the boot loop issues arised. Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T

The handset was launched in November 2019 and runs on Android 9.0 Pie on the top of MIUI 10 out-of-the-box. It has the 6.3-inches LCD display, Snapdragon 665 SoC, paired with Adreno 616 GPU, 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB/128GB of internal storage variant.

While the device packs a quad-rear camera setup of 48+8+2+2MP and a 13MP selfie camera. The Android 10 update is around the corner that should arrive on Redmi Note 8T devices by the second quarter of 2020. Though Xiaomi hasn’t mentioned the official timeline for this model yet.

Update as of August 24: According to the latest update, the MIUI 12 and Android 10 upgrade on Redmi Note 8T is nowhere to be found. Even the global MIUI 12 tracker is empty when it comes to the MIUI 12 upgrade. There’s no ETA or any official word from Xiaomi on when to expect both or at least one update on Redmi Note 8T. Update as of August 25: While Redmi Note 8T was slated to get Android 10-based MIUI 12 update in August, there’s no update even as we are entering the last leg of August. A new update has arrived on Note 8T which brings August 2020 security patch on-board, however, it is still based on Android 9-based MIUI 11 which means users are required to wait even further to get their upgrade. Update as of October 23: Previous reports suggested that the Note 8T will get its share of MIUI 12 upgrade in October. Turns out it is true as its global variant is now receiving the Android 10-based MIUI 12 upgrade bearing version number V12.0.1.0.QCXMIXM. The update is coming with an October 2020 security patch bundled with it and it is being released via OTA. Update as of November 7: According to the latest update, the Redmi Note 8T received MIUI 12 via OTA in the UK. However, the MIUI 12 V12.0.1.0 build weighing at 2.1GB was recalled after some time. It remains unknown exactly why it happened as there’s not much information available about the same.

Xiaomi Redmi 9

Update as of July 27: After waiting for quite a while, Xiaomi Redmi 9 is finally getting the much-anticipated MIUI 12 upgrade over the existing Android 10 OS at least for the Chinese variant. This means other variants are yet to intercept the update. Talking about the Chinese unit, the update is arriving via OTA bringing version number V12.0.1.0.QJCCNXM to Redmi 9 devices and it should intercept on your phone shortly. Update as of August 17: After rolling out MIUI 12 update based on Android 10, Xiaomi has pulled back the update from Redmi 9. Apparently, Xiaomi has released MIUI 11 on Redmi 9 which now bears version number V11.0.5.0.QJCCNXM after the MIUI 12 was rolled back citing some issues. The update is available via OTA although you can still tap here to download the OTA package and manually flash it on your device.

Update as of August 28: After rolling back the update, Xiaomi is now ready to release another update on Redmi 9. It is now based on MIUI 11 as opposed to MIUI 12 that it received earlier. Xiaomi has started rolling out the update to both Global and Chinese variants of Redmi 9. The China ROM is intercepting the update bearing version number V11.0.7.0.QJCCNXM while the Global ROM is getting V11.0.7.0.QJCMIXM and both are arriving via OTA. Update as of September 14: Now that the Indian and Chinese variants of Redmi 9 have intercepted the much-anticipated MIUI 12 update, the global variants of Redmi 9 are getting another update but unfortunately, it is based on MIUI 11. The update bears version number V11.0.8.0.QJCMIXM and it is rolling out via OTA for eligible users. This means that MIUI 12 update on Redmi 9 on its global variant is still awaited. Update as of September 15: The persistent gyroscope sensor bug on Redmi 9 still exists and previous updates on the device didn’t fix it either. Xiaomi has since released V11.0.4.0.QJCINXM in India to fix the issue, however, the problem is still there. This was confirmed by a MIUI Weekly Bug Report on Redmi 9 as posted on Mi Community as well. Thus, users will have to wait until the MIUI 12 arrives when the bug will be further optimized to eliminate it from Redmi 9. Update as of October 04: The Redmi 9 arrived with MIUI 11 out-of-the-box. Its Chinese variant got the MIUI 12 upgrade back in July while it received yet another update in China bearing version number V12.0.1.0.QJCCNXM. According to the latest update, the Redmi 9 is touted to get MIUI 12 update on its global variant by this month. This comes from Twitter where Xiaomi Indonesia GM Alvin Tse answered a query of a user saying that the MIUI 12 on global Redmi 9 is under testing and it should arrive by this month if not November. Update as of October 09: It was earlier said that Redmi 9 will get MIUI 12 by October-end. Most probably, the update will start by October 20. Cut to now, a Xiaomi UK Support executive said that the Redmi 9 will get MIUI 12 update in October 2020. The executive mentioned that the update will be released for European, Indian, Global, Russian and other units this month. Although this information comes from a support executive, it should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Update as of October 27: According to the latest update, the Redmi 9 which is still away from MIUI 12 might be getting its much-anticipated update this month. Xiaomi Redmi 9 (India)

Xiaomi launched Redmi 9 in India and it is a rebranded version of Redmi 9C launched earlier. The phone packs in a 6.53” LCD HD+ panel with Helio G35 processor, a 5000 mAh battery, a dual 13+2MP rear camera setup. Plus, the phone runs on Android 10 out-of-the-box based on the latest MIUI 12. Xiaomi Redmi 9A (India)

After rebranding Redmi 9C as Redmi 9 in India, Xiaomi is launching another rebranded phone aka Redmi 9A in India which is a rebranded version of Redmi 9i. The phone packs in a 6.53” HD+ LCD panel with Helio G25 under the hood and a beefy 5000 mAh battery. The device runs on the latest Android 10 based MIUI 12 out-of-the-box.

Xiaomi Redmi 9i (India)

The Redmi 9i is the latest smartphone in the Redmi 9 series launched in India with 4GB RAM with 64/128GB internal storage. The phone is powered by Helio G25 octa-core processor and comes with Android 10 out-of-the-box based on the latest MIUI 12.

Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro Premium

There is a premium version of Redmi K20 Pro launched in September 2019 that features similar specifications just like the standard Redmi K20 Pro model. But this handset comes with Android 10 over MIUI 11 out-of-the-box. Therefore, the Redmi K20 Pro Premium model users don’t have to wait for it.

Update as of June 29: Xiaomi sprinkled its MIUI 12 upgrade across its K20 line and not to spare K20 Pro Premium Edition in-between. Apparently, the device is now intercepting the MIUI 12 update based on Android 10 with its extensive changelog and whatnot. Update as of August 17: The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is now upgrading to MIUI 12 bearing version number V12.0.1.0.QEDCNXM available via OTA update. The users can also download the firmware using the link here and flash it on your device right away.

Xiaomi Mi 6

Update as of July 18: Xiaomi Mi 6 had already received two major upgrades and users were eagerly waiting for the third one i.e. Android 10. Earlier the phone was a part of the beta program in China and later the support was retracted. The latest update puts down the hope of Mi 6 users in the coffin with the latest comment from a Xiaomi moderator who confirmed that Mi 6 won’t get Android 10 and no MIUI 12 either. [Source]
