Updated on June 05, 2020: Xiaomi rolling the MIUI 12 update for Redmi Note 9 (codenamed: merlin) globally. The update is rolling with software version V12.0.2.0.QJOMIXM brings many new features based on Android 10. Updated on June 05, 2020: Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 receives stability update which improves the device performance along with security patch (May 2020). The update is rolling globally via OTA with MIUI Version V11.0.4.0.QJOMIXM. With this update, software bumps from MIUI 11.0.2.0 (V11.0.2.0.QJOMIXM) to MIUI  11.0.4.0.

Updated on March 27, 2020: Today Xiaomi rolled the May 2020 security patch to the Redmi Note 9 (Codename: merlin) globally with version V11.0.2.0.QJOMIXM. The update brings no major changes apart from the security patch and bug fixes. If you are using the Redmi Note 9, you can manually download and install MIUI 11.0.2.0 Global Stable ROM on Redmi Note 9 based on Android 10.

As we speak, the update has already started rolling over the air for users globally in a phased manner. It may take days or weeks to reach every device around the corner. In case, if you are not patient enough to wait, then follow this guide to install the update on your Redmi Note 9 (merlin).

Manually Check OTA Updates

Before moving to the guide, we recommend you to first check if the OTA is already available for your device manually. To do that,  go to the phone Settings > About Phone > Software update. Additionally, you can perform this task via the Software Updater app directly. If the new software version is available, you can grab it.

Before downloading the OTA update, make sure to charge the phone battery up to 50% minimum and connect to a Wi-Fi network.

How to Install MIUI 11.0.2.0 Global Stable ROM for Redmi Note 9 (merlin)

Installing the stock ROM or upgrading the MIUI version on Xiaomi devices is comparatively easy. But you should follow all the pre-requirements and downloads below before proceeding.

Pre-Requirements:

  • Supported for: Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 (merlin) only. The device should be running on stock ROM to apply the update.
  • Requires: A PC/Laptop and a USB cable.
