Updated on June 05, 2020: Xiaomi rolling the MIUI 12 update for Redmi Note 9 (codenamed: merlin) globally. The update is rolling with software version V12.0.2.0.QJOMIXM brings many new features based on Android 10. If you want to try, you can manually install the MIUI 12.0.2.0 Global Stable ROM for Redmi Note 9.

The update is rolling globally via OTA with MIUI Version V11.0.4.0.QJOMIXM. With this update, software bumps from MIUI 11.0.2.0 (V11.0.2.0.QJOMIXM) to MIUI 11.0.4.0.
Updated on March 27, 2020: Today Xiaomi rolled the May 2020 security patch to the Redmi Note 9 (Codename: merlin) globally with version V11.0.2.0.QJOMIXM. The update brings no major changes apart from the security patch and bug fixes. If you are using the Redmi Note 9, you can manually download and install MIUI 11.0.2.0 Global Stable ROM on Redmi Note 9 based on Android 10.

Manually Check OTA Updates
Before moving to the guide, we recommend you to first check if the OTA is already available for your device manually. To do that, go to the phone Settings > About Phone > Software update. Additionally, you can perform this task via the Software Updater app directly. If the new software version is available, you can grab it.
Before downloading the OTA update, make sure to charge the phone battery up to 50% minimum and connect to a Wi-Fi network.
