Updated on December 07, 2020: Today Xiaomi rolled the MIUI 12 for the Redmi S2 globally with software version V12.0.2.0.PEFMIXM. The update is still based on Android 10 and brings a major overhaul to the device with a new UI, latest features, and many more.

Updated on March 16, 2020: The Chinese OEM Xiaomi started pushing MIUI 11.0.5.0 Global Stable ROM for Redmi S2/Y2 with software version V11.0.5.0.PEFMIXM. This update is still based on Android 9.0 Pie. If you have not received the update, then manually you can download and install the update by following the guide below along with download links and requirements.

The new MIUI 11.0.5.0 update (Android 9.0 Pie) for Redmi S2/Y2 is rolling out globally via OTA in a phased manner and will take a few days to appear on all the units. It brings the March 2020 Android Security Patch that fixes bugs and improves system security. Additionally, the update brings app vault and security optimization.
