Lenovo, that owns Motorola has not been able to bring the old glory back to the smartphone brand. In fact, Motorola has also not been able to keep up with the pace of rolling out timely and regular updates. Motorola currently has a firm grip in the mid-range segment, but if it keeps on with the present level of innovation and price-to-performance ratio, then the grip that it has in the mid-range segment will also lose out. Good thing is that the company released the 2nd-gen of its foldable clamshell the Motorola Razr 5G.
The phone came will all sorts of much-needed improvements over the first-gen Motorola Razr. However, there are still some major problems that the company needs to address. The first being the price of the device. I mean, it is priced at $1,400 and is not even a high-end flagship device. There is no fancy camera setup, the processor is also the 5G mid-range chipset, not fully water and dust resistant, and much more. Besides, the phone is also not on the front line to receive the latest updates from the company. In this post, we will give you all the information about the latest Android 11 updates for the Motorola Razr 2020 5G. With that said, let us get straight into the article itself:
Motorola Razr 5G – Device Overview
Although the Motorola Razr 5G brings back the nostalgia of the icon Razr phone, the specs under the hood do not justify its ultra-premium $1400 price tag. It comes powered by a Snapdragon 765G chipset which is the best mid-range 5G chipset from Qualcomm and is not the flagship processor. This is coupled with 8GB of RAM and comes with 256GB of onboard storage with no dedicated card slot for memory expansion. The display on the phone is a foldable P-OLED panel which sizes 6.2-inches.
The Motorola Razr 5G also sports a secondary display on the outside which is 2.7 inches and has a 600 x 800 pixels resolution. The phone camera with Android 10 out of the box and runs almost stock Android with some Motorola apps. Coming to the cameras, there is a not-so-good 48MP lens that is capable of recording 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60/120fps. For selfies, there is a 20MP f/2.2 lens capable of recording 1080p@30fps. The fingerprint scanner on the Motorola Razr 5G is mounted on the back of the phone inside the logo. Under the hood, the battery is of surprisingly pretty less capacity and it stands at 2800 mAh. It supports 15W charging which is no close to its counterparts.
