Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. No one is literally like to experience crashes or shutdowns or restarting issues of the PC or console while playing games or try to run games. However, some of the possible workarounds can easily fix these issues either temporarily or permanently.

1. Update Graphics Driver

Go to the Nvidia website and head over to the drivers tab.
Select your graphics card model from the drop-down menu and download the latest drivers on the PC.
Run the installer from the downloaded location by double-clicking on it. The installation process will automatically install the latest drivers or overwrite older drivers.
Once done, reboot your system and try running the game again.
Additionally, you can use system restore to go back to the previous condition of the installation.

2. Check the Latest Windows 10 Update

Make sure to check the latest version of Windows 10 as well. Some times the outdated Windows OS version and outdated security patch can cause these issues.

Click on Start menu icon on the PC > Click on Settings (cog icon).

Open the Origin launcher.
Log in with your EA account.
Head over to the My Game Library > Right-click on the Apex Legends game > Click on Repair.

6. Roll Back your GPU Drivers to Fix PC Shutting Down and Restarting When Playing Apex

Click Start menu > Type Device Manager and click on it.
Double-click on the Display Adapters > Double-click on your NVIDIA Graphics card.
Select the Driver tab > Click on the Roll Back Driver (if available).
Once done, restart your computer and try checking the Apex Legends game whether it’s working or not.

7. Reduce the Quality of Games to Lower

Try to low the graphics options within the in-game settings.
Turn off all the unnecessary video options like texture, shadow, etc.
Set the FPS limit to 60.
Select Borderless Full-Screen window mode from the game settings.
Close all the background running programs and overlays from the task manager.
You can also disable the Anti Virus software for a while before gameplay.

8. Disable GSync

G-Sync is a proprietary adaptive sync technology developed by Nvidia to reduce screen tearing as an alternative to Vsync. So, if you’ve already enabled the GSync, you can disable it.

Simply, right-click on the desktop screen > Select the Nvidia Control Panel from the menu.
Click on the Add (+) symbol next to the Display.
Then click on the Setup G-SYNC and uncheck the box tick next to the Enable G-SYNC option.

9. Repair Apex Legends Game

Finally, you should try repairing the game by scanning the disk error.

Install an Anti-malware tool to remove any possible viruses on your PC.
Once done, restart your computer.
Open the command prompt and type sfc /scannow command and hit Enter.
Then type chkdsk C: /f /r /x and press Enter. If the drive C is in use, type Y and hit Enter.
