BitLife: Life Simulator is a text-based life simulation game published by Candywriter, where you will be able to build up your character in a virtual world. The game lets you experience various events, like the highs and lows of life. You can take the reins of your life from beginning to end, and work your way up to the top.
The game has several challenges that you can do to keep things interesting, and one of them is the Riches to Rags Challenge, where you will need to complete several tasks. These missions were added to the game on 29th December 2022. Let’s find out how you can complete it.

BitLife: Riches to Rags Challenge Guide
BitLife has been running for four years now, and they roll out several updates for the mobile game. In the Stock Market update which was released recently, you will come across the Riches to Rags challenge. These are weekly challenges which can keep you busy over the weekend.
As part of this challenge, there are five goals that you have to achieve. It uses a couple of elements from the September 2020 Royal Update as well as the Street Hustler Update from last year. Here are the five tasks that you need to do:
- Become the King
- Reign for at least 15 years
- Get exiled
- Change career into scam artist
- Make at least $500,000 as a scam artist
The first half of the missions is from the Royal Update, where you can be the king in the game. Meanwhile, the second half is all about the Street Hustler update as you can take up the occupation of being a scam artist. We will take through the five steps that you need to follow to complete the Riches to Rags challenge.
Become the King
When you begin the game, you will be able to choose the gender and location of the character you will be born as. Make sure to choose male, and European, for the best chances of being the king. The countries that you can choose are United Kingdom, Denmark, Spain, Sweden, Belgium, or the Netherlands, as they recognize monarchial rule.
At this point, you have a random chance of being a prince, so if you don’t get it on your first try, keep trying. Make new characters until one of them is born into a royal family as the prince. You have a better chance of being king if you are the eldest child. Once you become the king, you can tick the first checkbox of the challenge.
Reign for 15 Years
Now that you are King, you need to rule for fifteen years. Alternatively, if you are having trouble with the re-rolls, you can speed up the process by using God Mode. Through this mode, you will be able to set your royal status as a prince at the beginning of the game. Once you turn an adult, you will become the king if you are first in line to the throne.
If there are people ahead of you, you need to kill them, or hire a hitman to do so. To kill the king, you can use the Crime menu. In case the king is older than 50 and you are his son, the years will automatically be added for the next checkpoint. When you turn King, you will need to hold on to the crown for 15 years. The first and second boxes can be ticked in this way.
Get Exiled
For the third checkpoint, you will need to lose all your power and fortune. To get overthrown and exiled you can perform public disservices which will make your subjects displeased with you. Make sure to mix up your crimes, as normal crimes won’t really count while you are King.
For regular crimes, the police will arrest you but you can use your royal influence to get out of jail. So, you will need to commit some public executions and disservices. This will lead to public outrage and a decrease in respect for you as the king. Your chances of exile will increase until it reaches breaking point, and then you will be overthrown as the king.
Select Scam Artist as an Occupation
This is where the real work begins. You will be exiled to a random country where you have almost no money, and it’s like starting the game again. However, the fourth checkpoint is not a problem. You can simply select your preferred occupation of being a Scam Artist from the Occupations menu.
Scam Artist is a new occupation which was added to the game in the Street Hustler update. Make sure you have this special career pack purchased. You will be able to buy this pack individually as well as in Boss Mode where you get all current and future packs.
There are four options that you can choose from in this pack, and you need to pick the one that fulfills the conditions of the challenge. As a Scam Artist, you can scam people out of their money and take it for yourself, making a living in this manner. You just need to make a lot of money to be successful. $500,000 in fact, which won’t be easy so prepare for the grind.
Become a Successful Scam Artist – Make $500,000
For the fifth and final box to be ticked, begin scamming people. You can start with some simple scams and build up your scamming skill to at least 50%. Once you are at this level, you can move on to better scams which are more difficult, but pay better. By filling up your skill bar, you can pull off high-paying scams easily.
Make sure to watch out for setbacks such as someone refusing to pay you, or the police, who are no longer your friends. If you have an unsuccessful scam, it will set you back by two well-executed scams. It might take a while to get to half a million dollars, usually a decade.
To speed up the process, you can increase your passive income from scamming ,and press the Age button. By doing this, you will be able to generate the income of a whole year. You need to make half a million in cumulative scam earnings, and once you do, you have completed the Riches to Rags challenge.
