Samsung Galaxy M02 Device Overview
The Samsung Galaxy M02 features a 6.5 inch IPS panel with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. We don’t get the Samsung signature AMOLED display here, but considering the phone’s price, the move to IPS seems justified. As mentioned above, in terms of processing power, we get the few generations old Mediatek MT6739W processor, which is built on a 28nm manufacturing process. This is just a quad-core processor with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz.
There is a dual-camera setup at the rear consisting of a 13MP primary sensor paired with an f/1.9 lens and a 2MP macro sensor paired with an f/2.4. As for selfies, we get a single 5MP front sensor paired with an f/2.0 lens. The rear setup can only capture 1080p videos due to the limited power processor, and the front can only go up to 720p. The limited camera capabilities might discourage some from going for this device, but no one can really complain about it for a starting price of 6,700 INR.
The smartphone runs on Android 10 out of the box with One UI 2.0 skinned on top. In terms of RAM and storage configurations, we get two options here: 32GB internal storage + 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage + 3GB RAM. There is a dedicated slot for storage expansion via a microSD card. Coming to communications, we have Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and micro USB 2.0. For sensors, we only have the Accelerometer and proximity. As mentioned above, the USP of this smartphone is a 5000 mAh non-removable battery that would last for quite a while considering the low power demand of the smartphone’s average specifications. The Samsung Galaxy M02 is available in four color options: Black, Gray, Blue, and Red. For people looking to buy a Samsung smartphone on a tight budget, the M02 fits the bill.
Samsung Galaxy M02 Stock Firmware
Android is an open-source platform where the developers can easily build Custom Firmware and other apps or mod files compatible with any particular Android device. Sometimes, the user can brick their devices during flashing any custom file or Custom ROM. The smartphone OEMs don’t provide too many customizations or functionalities to the device with a Stock ROM. Though, Stock ROM offers a better user experience and smooth, stable performance over any Custom Firmware.
Whereas, the Custom ROM mainly focused to offer great customizations and visual experience than any Stock Firmware. That does not mean Custom ROM can’t provide a better user experience. But as your daily driver, you will soon notice that your device is getting unusable every day on a Custom ROM.
If you have already flashed any custom firmware on your Galaxy M02 model or running on the Stock ROM but have some software performance issues then installing the Stock ROM again will solve your problem.
