It is a firmware-flashing tool for Windows PCs developed by Samsung for Android smartphones and tablets. What is more interesting is that Samsung uses this tool internally or in the service centers. Moreover, with the help of this tool, you can install official and unofficial firmware without any restrictions and tripping the Knox security. This means that your device’s warranty will stay intact.

The latest version is Odin 3.14.4. You should download the latest Odin tool for your Windows device because the latest update brings bug fixes and stability improvements.

Note:

This is the latest version of Odin and it was released in January of 2016. It fixes the error of flashing for the Galaxy S7/S7e USA model (AT&T, T-mobile) and is supported by the new models of 2016, such as Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, Note 6, and Note 7. For newer models like Galaxy Note 10/S10/S20 Series, you must use Odin v3.13.3 or higher. For Android 10, you need to use Odin v3.14.1 or higher.

Launch the Odin.exe file on your Windows computer.

If you find a warning msg, click OK to continue.

Make sure Samsung USB Drivers are already installed so the tool can detect your device properly.

3. Connect Your Phone

Use a good-quality USB cable to connect your phone to the PC.
You’ll know it’s connected successfully when Odin shows a blue-colored COM port (like COM3, COM5) in the top left section.

4. Load Firmware Files

In Odin, click the following buttons and load the corresponding files from your extracted firmware folder:

BL – Bootloader file
AP – Main firmware file (takes longer to load)
CP – Modem/baseband file
CSC – Choose CSC to wipe data or HOME_CSC to keep your data

Be patient — especially while loading the large AP file.

5. Start Flashing

Once all the files are loaded and your device is detected, click the Start button at the bottom of Odin.
The flashing process will begin. Do not unplug your device during this step.

6. Wait for PASS

When the flash completes successfully, you’ll see a green “PASS” message in Odin.
Your phone will reboot automatically into the freshly installed firmware.
