The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra features a huge 14.6 inches Super AMOLED panel. It is a high refresh rate panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The resolution on this panel is 1848 x 2960 pixels with an aspect ratio of 16:10. The screen is protected by corning Gorilla Glass 5. Under the hood, we have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip built on a 4 nm manufacturing process. It is an octa-core processor with one Cortex-X2 core clocked at 3.00 GHz, three Cortex-A710 cores clocked at 2.50 GHz and four Cortex-A510 cores clocked at 1.80 GHz. For handling the graphics-intensive tasks, we have the Adreno 730.

In terms of optics, we get a dual-camera setup at the rear and a dual-camera at the front as well. The rear dual-camera setup consists of a 13 MP primary sensor paired with an f/2.0 lens and a 6 MP ultrawide sensor paired with an f/2.2 lens. At the front, we have a 12 MP primary sensor paired with an f/2.2 lens, and a 12 MP ultrawide sensor paired with an f/2.4 lens. Both the rear and front camera setups can capture 4K videos at 60 fps.

The tablet comes in four storage options: 128GB + 8GB RAM, 256GB + 12GB RAM, 512GB + 12GB RAM, 512GB + 16GB RAM. There is also a dedicated MicroSD slot for storage expansion. For communications, we have Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6e, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, USB Type-C 3.2, and a magnetic connector for the S-Pen. And for sensors, we get an under-display optical fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass. Powering it all is a 11200 mAh battery that can be topped up in under 90 mins using the 45W fast charging adapter. The tablet is available in only one color option: Graphite.

Android 13 and Its Features

Google has finally started rolling out their stable Android 13 update to the public. As expected, only Google has released the update to their Pixel lineup, but no OEM has started cooking a stable yet.

Updated on March 07, 2023: The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra has received the One UI 5.1 update from Samsung, with firmware version X906BXXU3BWB4 being rolled out in India. The update has a file size of approximately 1GB and features the latest security patch for February 2023. The update will gradually be released in other regions over the next few weeks.

Steps to Install Android 13 on Samsung Tab S8 Ultra

Installation Instructions:

  1. Download the appropriate Android 13 firmware file for your Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra.
  2. Extract the contents of the firmware zip file.
  3. Notice that the extracted files will be in “.tar” or “.tar.md5” format.
  4. Now download and extract the Odin tool on your PC.
  5. Open the extracted folder and click on the Odin.exe file.
  6. You need to connect your Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra to the PC while it is in Download Mode. Samsung-Download-Mode-Confirm
  7. Notice that the CO port will light up on Odin once you connect your phone.
  8. Click the AP button and select the firmware.
  9. Do the same for BL, CP, and CSC.
  10. Keep in mind that the regular CSC file will erase the entire data. In order to save the data, select the ‘HOME_CSC‘ file.
  11. Don’t forget to select Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time in the Options tab.
  12. Click the Start button to install the firmware on your Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra.
