FIX 4: Log in to a different user account:
As per a few suffered users, when they tried to log in to a different user account, they were able to make a purchase from the Windows 10 store. All they did is,
- Log in to a different Windows 10 account.
- Now navigate to Windows Store and when you are asked to fill in your login details, make sure you enter the details of your main account (The one you were using earlier).
Considering this is just a troubleshooter, it might work only in selective cases.
FIX 5: Ensure that your Windows Firewall is turned On:
Some studies show that while you are making an app purchase from Windows 10 Store, your Windows Firewall must be turned On as well.
NOTE: If you are a third-party firewall user, make sure you turn off Windows Firewall once your app purchasing is done. If not, it might create a conflict between the built-in firewall and the third-party firewall.
- Firstly, go to the desktop search bar, type Firewall and launch the relevant search result.
- On the next window, locate the option that allows you to turn On the Windows Firewall. While you are turning On the firewall, you might be asked either for your administrator password or for a confirmation (Turn on/off).
- Once you perform the above stated, check whether you can make any purchase from the Windows 10 Store or not.
FIX 6: Check for the latest Windows updates:
If you are not able to make an app purchase from the Windows 10 Store, then the latest Windows update might resolve the same for you. For installing the latest Windows update, follow the steps given below:
- Firstly, press Windows + I altogether and launch the Settings window.
- Now inside the Settings window, navigate to Update & Security.

- Further on the right-pane menu, click on the Check for Updates tab, and if there are any updates available, your system will automatically download and install them.
- Once done, make sure you restart your computer.
FIX 7: Check your Antivirus:
At times, your third-party Antivirus software might create some conflict with your system and prevent you from making an app purchase from the Windows 10 Store. Here in such case,
- Either navigate to the Settings section in your Antivirus and change its Configuration.
Or
- Disable the Antivirus temporarily and then check whether it helps or not. In some critical cases, you need to remove the antivirus from the system.
If it helps, you might require replacing your antivirus with another trusted one as quickly as possible.
FIX 8: Change Advanced Internet Options:
At times, your internet Settings can interfere with your Windows 10 Store and prevent you from making a purchase. However, in case you change Advanced Internet Options, it might help you. For doing so, follow the steps given below:
- Firstly, launch the Internet Options. For doing so, navigate to the desktop search bar, type internet options and open the relevant search result.

- On the next screen, navigate to the Advanced tab (from the vertical menu), and from the list of options, make sure that the Do not save encrypted pages to disk option is Disabled. If not, un-tick the checkbox.
- Now click on Apply and then click on OK.
FIX 9: Disable proxy settings:
If you use Proxy for your online privacy, then it can refrain you from purchasing an app from the Windows 10 Store. Here the best resort is to disable the proxy settings. For doing so, follow the steps given below:
- Firstly, launch the Internet Options. For doing so, navigate to the desktop search bar, type internet options and open the relevant search result.

- Now from the vertical menu, navigate to the Connection tab and then click over the LAN Settings tab.
- Inside the LAN settings window, make sure all the options are Disabled and then click on OK.
- Once you have disabled the Proxy, you will be able to purchase any app from the Windows 10 Store.
These were some of the quick and easy methods that will help you in case the Windows 10 store is not allowing you to purchase an app. However, suppose all of the above methods do not help you. In that case, we recommend making an app purchase from a different device (mobile/ computer) and then transferring it to your existing computer.
Also, most of the time, when you cannot purchase an app from the Windows 10 store, it is because the application is updating in the background. In such a case, all you can do is wait and refresh until you can download the application. If you have any queries or feedback, please write down the comment in the below comment box.
