Vivo X50, X50 Pro and Pro Plus Waterproof device?

Earlier this week, Vivo introduced Its new family of phones—X50 series. The three members are named as Vivo X50, X50 Pro and the fancy one X50 Pro Plus. The latter phone is powered by the most advanced processor of Snapdragon 865 and owns an impressive set of capabilities. While the first two are introduced with Snapdragon 765G. Vivo X50 and XPro are all set to be available for sale later this month, while consumers have to wait till July to get their hands on Vivo X50 Pro Plus. If you brood over the names of the phone, you will see two of them have Pro in their names. Now, usually, a Pro phone comes with Ingress water protection. They all have dual-sim support and run Funtouch OS 10.5 on Android version 10. The Vivo X50 and X50 Pro render 90Hz displays while the X50 Pro Plus features a display of 120Hz. Moving towards the processor, X50 and X50 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 765G octa-core processor. The Plus version comes with Snapdragon 865 SoC. Vivo X50 and X50 Pro will be released with up to 8GB Ram. X50 Pro Plus, on the other hand, shall come with up to 12GB Ram. All three phones were introduced with a 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

The camera of Vivo X50 and X50 Pro are identical with slight differences. The camera on the Vivo X50 and Vivo X50 Pro features a primary sensor of 48-megapixel with an f/1.6 lens, 13-megapixel portrait camera with f/2.48. Coming to the front design, there is a 32-megapixel sensor with an f/2.48 lens. 32-megapixel selfie camera f/2.48 aperture. In a wide contrast, the Vivo X50 Pro Plus enters with a huge 50-megapixel rear camera, a 32-megapixel portrait camera. Now talking more about Vivo X50+, the device is fueled with a non-removable Li-Po 4315 battery + Fast charging 44W. The Vivo X50 Pro Plus features GPS with dual-band A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO.

Is Vivo X50, X50 Pro and Pro Plus Waterproof device?

The recently introduced Vivo X50 series is about to set foot on the market in the approaching months. Before they arrive in the market, we can’t get the devices and run them on waterproof testing. All we can do to figure if any of these phones are waterproof. Look over If the company has mentioned something about waterproofing or IP ratings. With the official IP (Ingress Rating), one can determine If a device is waterproof. Unfortunately, there are no signs by Vivo announcing IP ratings of the phone.

So we can conclude the X50 series is not waterproof. Even X50 Pro Plus is not a waterproof device, with such a high price. Besides the company, marketers have come forward and claimed that Vivo X50, X50 Pro, and X50 Pro Plus are splash-proof devices. That again leaves us with another final conclusion. Vivo X50, X50 Pro, and X50 Pro Plus, none of them are waterproof devices; they only can endure water splashes. Vivo has developed an array of waterproof devices from the past years.

Waterproof certification is the most used strategy to promote a phone these days. In hindsight, Vivo has explicitly promoted their phones who had Ingress waterproof protection.
