Imposters get many benefits in Among Us. Several mechanics help Imposters to hide and kill the crewmates. These mechanics are perfect hideouts for imposters after killing crewmates. Vents are one of the most useful pathways in Among Us. They can be beneficial if used properly by the imposters.

Using vents properly becomes a bit complicated due to its mechanism, so you need to plan the proper time to enter and exit the vents. That being said, here is a guide on how to use vents in Among Us.

What are Vents in Among Us?

Vents are pathways that imposters can use to change their locations on the map quickly. Imposters can only use vents. Crewmates can see the vents but cannot use them. However, when an imposter moves near a vent, the sabotage button changes to the Vent button. On clicking the vent button, the imposter jumps into the Vent.

Crewmates cannot see an imposter hiding in the Vent, so you need to look around carefully before entering or exiting any vent. If any crewmate spots you using the ducts, they will think that you are an imposter.

How to Use Vents in Among Us?

You have to go near a vent and use the event button to access it. Keep in mind that vents won’t allow you to move anywhere on the map. Every Vent has its specific pathway, and it enables you to shift a series of 2-3 rooms only. You can select the place you want to enter by using the arrow keys to direct you to a specific room.

Players should not use vents for regular movements. It increases the chances of being caught by any crewmate while using them. Use them to escape quickly after killing any crewmate. Keep in mind that your kill timer stops while hiding in a vent. Planning to create a kill streak by hiding in the vents won’t work.

Furthermore, make sure that you are not surrounded by any crewmate while using them. Try not to exit in a room where you were not seen entering. It will be a clear indication of you being an imposter if any crewmates notice your movement.
