If you don’t want to use or no longer need Reddit, you delete the Reddit account. If you want to delete your comments and posts, you have to follow some more steps to perform the task. However, if you delete the account, your posts are still available without your username, and comments and posts are showing in the name of Unattributed. Furthermore, if you delete your Reddit account, you cannot log in with the same username and password.

Once you delete your Reddit account, it will also delete your data in the Reddit account, so if anything is essential, you must save a copy of the data. For example, if you already deactivate your account and want a backup of your Reddit data, you have to ask Reddit to send you a back uplink of your data. Method 1: Delete Post and Comments of Reddit

  • Go to the Reddit website and sign in with your username and password.
  • Now click on your name on the top right corner and then select the Profile.
  • On a new window, you will see all your profile details along with Posts and Comments.
  • Next, click on tabs to see all your posts and comments.
  • To remove any post or comment, click on the three dots next to the Hide tab and select Delete.

Method 2: Delete Reddit Account

Now to delete the Reddit account after deleting all posts and comments, follow the below steps.

  • Click on your Name on the top right corner and then select the User’s settings option.
  • Then, click on Deactivate Account from the bottom of the page to delete the account on the settings page.
  • Next, Reddit will ask you an optional feedback question: Why do you want to delete the Reddit account.
  • After providing the feedback, enter your username and password to proceed.

  • Then click on the I Understand check box to agree and then click on DEACTIVATE.
  • Again click on Deactivate on the following dialog box as it asks you for confirmation of deleting the account.
  • Now your Reddit account is deactivated and will be deleted after two weeks of inactivity. If you change your mind and wish to re-activate your accounts, simply log in within the next 14 days of the deactivation request.
