  • Then select it and go to ‘Open’ > Select the ‘Add a Game’ window.
  • Select ‘Add selected programs’ > Steam will now recognize the installer file.
  • Find it in your Steam Library by searching for ‘Epic’ > Right-click on it.
  • Select ‘Properties’ > Click on the ‘Compatibility’ tab.
  • Checkmark the ‘Force the use…’ box > Select the latest installed version of Proton from the drop-down menu.

Note: Some Steam Deck users may face accessing the MicroSD card. By default, the Epic Games Launcher can only install games to the Steam Deck’s internal storage due to a Proton limitation. You can fix this by opening the Dolphin browser and locating ‘primary’ in the Removable Devices option and clicking on it.

  • Click on the top of the Dolphin browser window > Click on ‘Primary’ to see the file path.
  • Make sure to highlight and copy the path > Go back into Steam and open the Properties menu of the Epic installer.
  • Scroll down to the ‘Launch Options’ field > Manually type in STEAM_COMPAT_MOUNTS=.
  • Next, paste the file path then put a space > Add %command%.
  • Close the window and select the microSD card as an installation location for Epic Games downloads.
  • You’re done.
