Updated on June 27, 2020: Motorola G8 Plus received June 2020 security patch with software version PPIS29.65-51-5. It is still based on Android 9.0 Pie, and there is no update when this device will receive the official Android 10 update yet. We already updated that this device will receive Android 10 and Android 11 updates.

Updated on May 13, 2020: Today Motorola started rolling May 2020 security patch update for Motorola Moto G8 Plus. The update is live with version PPIS29.65-51-3 which means it bumps the software version from PPI29.65-51.

Updated on March 31, 2020: When Motorola users are waiting for the Android 10 update, Motorola is still stuck with upgrading their device to the latest security patch. Well, a Security patch is important though! But we all are desperate to taste the Android 10 update on our Motorola device, Today Motorola started rolling the February 2020 Security Patch to Moto G8 Plus with software version PPI29.65-51 based on Android 9.0 Pie.
As the update is rolling out via OTA in a gradual process, it may take a few days to hit the update all units properly. However, you can manually check for OTA updates via the device Settings > System > Advanced > System Updates. If you’re interested in this new update including software version PPI29.65-51, then you should check the OTA update on an interval basis to get the update notification.
The February 2020 Android Security Patch brings bug fixes and system security improvements for better user experience & stability. Though Motorola has already pushed the latest Android 10 stable update to its couple of Android One models, the Moto G8 Plus device users may have to wait for a while expectedly.

Steps to Install Android Security patch for Moto G8 Plus (doha)

Pre-Requirements:

Moto G8 Plus Specifications: Overview
The Moto G8 Plus smartphone was launched in October 2019. It comes with a 6.3-inches IPS LCD display with a 1080×2280 pixels resolution and a 19:9 aspect ratio as well. It’s powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. While the storage can be expandable up to 512GB via a MicroSD card.
The device runs on Android 9.0 Pie with pure Android UI out-of-the-box. It sports a non-removable 4,000 mAh battery which supports fast charging as well. In terms of the camera department, the Moto G8 Plus has a triple rear camera setup of a 48 MP primary (f/1.79) + a secondary 16 MP camera (f/2.2) + a third 5MP camera (f/2.2). While it has PDAF, HDR, Panorama, and an LED flash. On the front side, the handset features a 25 MP selfie shooter with an f/2.0 aperture lens.
The Moto G8 Plus includes Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, A-GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port, FM Radio, 3G/4G dual nano-SIM, and more. In terms of the sensors, it packs an accelerometer, an ambient light sensor, compass, gyro, proximity, and a fingerprint sensor.
