What is Bootloader unlocking?
We can simply understand the bootloader as a code that directs the phone to function once it starts up. It may sound like a simple part of smartphone OS, but without a bootloader, your device is of no use. The OEM doesn’t want the user to tamper with the stock ROM and install any unauthorized firmware or some other program on the device. That’s why it is kept in a locked state. The device warranty can get void if the bootloader on the device is unlocked.
This clearly means that you need to unlock the bootloader to perform customizations like flashing custom ROMs and get root access. After the bootloader is unlocked, a user basically fulfills the first step to modify his smartphone further.
