How to view YouTube Comment History?
There could be many reasons as to why someone would like to change their YouTube comments. Maybe you commented about something without complete knowledge, and now you realize that you were wrong about it. Or maybe you commented something that you now realize is offensive to the other party. Maybe you want to copy something that you commented on YouTube and put it somewhere else too. Or the most common reason could be that there was a typing error in your comment, and you are now looking to correct it. Well, whatever may be the reason for you to access your YouTube comment history, we will help you through it.
How to view and edit YouTube comment history on a PC?
- You need to sign in to your Google account in your browser before heading over to YouTube’s homepage.
- Then open up YouTube on your browser.
- Click on the three parallel lines icon in the top left corner of your window.
- A list of options catering to different things will appear on your screen. Clicking on Trending will show you the trending videos, clicking on subscriptions will show you the latest videos uploaded on your subscribed channel, and so on.
- Here, you will see the option of “History.” Click on it.
- Then click on the “Comments” option at the bottom of your screen.
- A list of all your posted comments on YouTube will show up on your screen in chronological order. The most recent comments will be on the top, while the older ones will be down the list.
- Find the comment that you want to edit in this list and click on the video link next to “Commented On.”
- YouTube will take you to the video where you made that comment, and you will see your comment at the top as a highlighted comment. From there, you can edit it in any way you like. You can even choose to delete it if you want.

Now even for iPhone and iPad users, the process is similar.
- Go to YouTube’s homepage on your browser and sign in to your Google account to open up your YouTube account.

How to view and edit YouTube comment history on an Android device?
Even though you use YouTube as an application on your Android device, it will take you to your browser if you try to access the history section of it. So we will see how you can edit your YouTube comments using a browser on your Android smartphone.
- Go to YouTube’s homepage in your mobile browser. You will be taken to the mobile version of YouTube.
- Tap on your profile icon in the top right corner of your window.
- Tap on Settings.
- Tap on “History & privacy.”
- Then tap on “Manage all activity.”
- Tap on the three parallel lines icon in the top left corner of your window.
- Choose “Other Google activity.”
- Scroll down, and you will find the “Comments on YouTube videos” section. Under it, tap on “View Comments.”
- Then you will see a page with all your comments in chronological order.
- Tapping on the video will take you to the video, and from there, you can look for a video to edit it. Or you can tap on the “X” icon next to it, and the comment will be deleted.
If you cannot edit your comment on a video, then the chances are that either that video has been removed or it has been changed from public to private video. The video might be removed by the uploader or by the YouTube team if it violates any terms and conditions of YouTube. And if you can’t find your comment alone in the entire list of comments, then the uploader might have deleted your comment selectively.
