How to Fix Razer Synapse Not Working Issue

Here we’ve mentioned a couple of possible methods that should work for you in most cases. So, take a closer look at it and follow the steps properly.

1. Reinstall Razer Synapse

If in case, your Razer Synapse failed to start on your PC then the issue might be related to internal files. It’s better to reinstall the software on your PC to check whether the issue has been fixed or not.

You can completely uninstall the Razer Synapse software from your computer by using a third-party app uninstaller program called ‘Revo Uninstaller’. It basically deletes all the software files along with the residual files so that there will be no leftovers.

Otherwise, you can go with the traditional uninstallation process from the Start menu > Control Panel > Uninstall a program > Right-click on the Razer Synapse > Click on Uninstall > Follow the on-screen prompts, allow the process.

Finally, you’ll need to reinstall the Razer Synapse software freshly on your PC. You can find the latest version to download from here.

2. Reinstall Razer Device Drivers

Press Windows + X keys to open up the Quick Start Menu on your PC.
Now, click on Device Manager > Click on the arrow icon of ‘Mice and other pointing devices’ to expand the list > Click on ‘Uninstall Device’.
Enable the checkbox for the ‘Delete the driver software for this device’ > Click on ‘Uninstall’ to confirm the removal process.
Do the same steps for both the ‘Keyboards’ and ‘Human Interface Devices’ categories on the Device Manager interface.
Once done, simply disconnect all of your connected Razer devices.
Restart your computer and reconnect all the Razer devices again.
Device drivers will be automatically installed on your Windows system after getting detected.

3. Disable Razer Surround

You’ll need to follow method 2 first and then log into the Razer account via your Razer Synapse software.
Now, the Synapse software will connect to the internet.
Whenever the feature update pops up, just ignore/cancel it. [No need to update the software right now]
Next, Synapse will show you two picture pop-up one by one that includes Razer Surround and Synapse Update.
Just click on ‘Razer Surround’ and cancel/close it immediately. [It causes most issues]
Once canceled the Razer Surround, you can now simply update Synapse software by clicking on ‘Synapse Update’.
Finally, restart your computer and check if this method has fixed Razer Synapse Not Working Issue or not.

4. Update Windows Build

Press Windows + I keys to open up the Windows Settings menu.
Click on Update & Security > From the Windows Update section, click on ‘Check for updates’.
If there is an update available, make sure to click on ‘Download and Install’. [Some cases, you’ll automatically get update notifications and the updating process starts by clicking on check for updates.]
Once done, restart your computer and check if the problem has been fixed or not.

5. Install the latest Microsoft .NET Framework

So, the .NET Framework actually is a software development framework for building and running apps on the Windows system. Though it’s not mandatory to have this one installed on your Windows system, more and more latest software requires this framework these days.

You can head over to Microsoft’s official website to download the .NET Framework according to your system’s architecture.
Then simply install the framework on your PC and restart your system to apply changes.

6. Disable Windows Defender Firewall/Third-Party Antivirus

Turning off the Windows Defender Firewall or even any third-party antivirus program will definitely gonna be helpful if in case, you’re encountering any software issue.

Click on Start > Settings > Update & Security.
Now, click on Windows Security from the left pane.
Click on Open Windows Security > Here you’ll be able to turn off both the Virus & threat protection as well as Firewall & network protection.

7. End Task of Razer Synapse

If in case, you’re already using Razer Synapse and for some reason now it doesn’t work properly, make sure to close the background running task/process from the Task Manager. This method also becomes useful in most cases. So, give it a try.

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys to open up the Task Manager.
Next, click on the ‘Processes’ tab and search for the Razer Synapse processes (if any).
If found, ensure to click on the processes individually and select ‘End Task’.
Once done, restart your computer and try running the Razer Synapse again.

However, if that method didn’t work for you, follow the next one.

8. Rollback Razer Device Driver

If none of the workarounds fixed the issue for you, make sure to roll back the connected Razer device drivers to their previous version. Sometimes it can be also possible that the latest version of the software has some bugs or stability issues. So, until developers come up with a new patch fix, ensure to stick with the older version.

Press Windows + X keys to open up the Quick Start Menu on your PC.
Now, click on Device Manager > Click on the arrow icon of ‘Mice and other pointing devices’ to expand the list > Click on ‘Properties’.
Click on the ‘Driver’ tab > Here you’ll be able to see an option called ‘Roll Back Driver’.
If the option is available for you, simply click on it and follow the on-screen prompts to go back to the previous driver version.
Do the same steps for both the ‘Keyboards’ and ‘Human Interface Devices’ categories on the Device Manager interface.
Once done, restart your computer and check for the issue.

However, if in case, the ‘Roll Back Driver’ option isn’t available for you, then you can try checking the latest driver update by clicking on the ‘Update Driver’ option again. If any, download and install it. If not, then you should try the next method.

9. Remove Razer Files

Any corrupted or missing files can also be another reason for not working the software properly on your computer. Removing the files can come in handy for some users.

Press Windows + E keys to open up the ‘File Explorer’ [This PC].
Head over to the C:\Program Files(x86)\Razer location by copy-pasting it on the address bar. [The drive location may vary if you’ve installed Razer Synapse to any other location or drive]
Select all the files inside the Razer folder [Exclude RzSynapse.exe file only].
Press the Delete key to remove all the selected files from the folder.

10. Install Missing Drivers
