How To Change Your Steam Account Name

The cloud-based gaming service Steam from Valve has been around for 17 years. Some of us recently joined this platform, whereas some are as old as its beginning. This account name is generally a combination of a few numbers. Now according to Steam’s T&C, no one can change their Account name. This is a unique number that will just stay constant. What you can change, however, is your profile name. And profile name is what anyone online would see for your account. How to change your username on Steam?

So the thing that you need to know is that it is simply not possible to change the Account name. It is a series of numbers that will always stay like that, as long as the account exists. Maybe in some later updates, Valve might give us the flexibility of changing even the account name. As of now, only the profile name can be changed, and that is what we will take a loo here in this post.

Change your profile username:

Your profile name is always on display for your friends and everyone else online. Even when you open the Steam Client,  you will see the profile name on the top right corner of your screen. And this is where we can change the name too.

• Open up the Steam client, and if you are not logged in, then log in to your account.
• Then you will see your profile username in the top right corner in the form of a drop-down icon.
• Click on it and then from the drop-down options list, choose “View Profile.”
