New updates are added on May 16, 2020: If we go by the information shared on Twitter, the Android 10 update which will also bring the Chinese OEM Vivo’s Funtouch OS 10 for the Vivo S1, is slated to arrive on the device by the first week of June 2020. Well, there is no concrete evidence as to how much this piece of information is correct, but at least there is something to dwell upon for the Vivo S1 users as the company has not been pretty regular with sharing the updated plans for pushing Android 10 (Funtouch OS 10) updates for its eligible devices. Here is what the tweet reads:
It has not been announced for the lockdown. But the Android 10 and funtouchOS 10 has been rolled to vivo v17 and v17pro, and next week the update is rolling to vivo s1pro and June 1st week the update is rolling to vivo s1, z1x last week of June it's for Vivo z1pro.

New updates are added on May 1, 2020: The Chinese variant of the Vivo S1 has now started off with the beta recruitment. Note that there is an Indian variant of the Vivo S1 which is almost off the cards for getting the Android 10 update. However, the Chinese variant has been fortunate enough to start beta recruitment. The recruitment will take place between May 1 to May 10 and the registered users will be getting the time between May 16 to June 15, to test out the beta update and provide their feedback and suggestions. Those who would provide the maximum and most correct feedbacks will also be rewarded with some rewards. Every now and then, we have seen a new Chinese smartphone manufacturer come up with a new piece of smartphone and enter the smartphone market. Well, there is no shortage of people in there, but the pace at which the number of smartphone companies from China is increasing and dominating the smartphone market is pretty amazing. We got OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, Realme, etc. and other different smaller brands that have created a space for themselves.
Vivo is one of the Chinese smartphone manufacturers, that has been in the news for its technological products that eventually end up being the smartphone trend for the coming year. Don’t believe us? Then you should probably not aware that Vivo was the first company that brought in the pop-up style camera with the Vivo Nex, which ended up being one of the style and design factors of 2019. But, the company has not been able to replicate the same success in the timely roll-out of updates for its devices. There are a bunch of devices that are waiting for the Android 10 (Functouch OS 10) update and while the company doesn’t seem bothered about the Android 10 updates, a recent tweet from Vivo India, about Vivo S1 might come as a piece of bad news for the Vivo S1 Android 10 (Funtouch OS 10) hopefuls.
If we go by the response given by the official Twitter handle of Vivo India, the Vivo S1 is not scheduled for a new Android 10 update because the device is stable with the current Android version. Well this statement, is pretty vague and simply rules out the device from getting Android 10 update, without any reason.
we appraise your requirements and thankful for it. The vivo S1 handset is much stable with the current Android version, for now, hence we have not planned to update it yet. However, to ensure your best experience, we will keep updating the Funtouch OS version as always.

Well the Vivo S1 is was launched back in 2019 and came with Android 9 Pie out of the box, meaning that the device has not yet received its first major OS update. And Android 10 (Funtouch OS 10) would have been the Vivo S1’s first update. But by the looks of it, it seems like the company has put the plans in the back burner. However, who knows the Android 10 (Funtouch OS 10) might see the light of the day somewhere in the near future for the Vivo S1. We will keep you posted about further information in this regard.
