Realme 5i Android 10 (Realme UI) Beta Update Now Live [RMX2030EX_11_C.37]

If you own the Realme 5i then, this piece of news might excite you, as Realme has now kick-started the open beta registrations for the Android 10 (Realme UI) beta update for the device. Notably, the beta registrations for the Android 10 update for the Realme 5 series was started off back on May 10, but it was only available for the Realme 5 and Realme 5s users. For some reason, the Realme 5i was left out. Then it was reported by the OEM itself that the beta program for the phone has been halted due to several bugs present in the firmware which is being resolved by the developers, but Realme kept assuring its users that the update will be rolled out on time for the Realme 5i on May-end.

And it seems like the company has stuck true to its words and has started off with the beta registration of the Android 10 (Realme UI) for the Realme 5i. Moreover, those who have successfully registered for the Realme 5i Android 10 beta program, are already getting the Android 10 (Realme UI) update on their phones. The announcement was made on the official community website of Realme. Here is what the official announcement reads:

Notably, if you are interested in joining the beta program for the Realme 5i, then you should make sure that you are running RMX2030EX_11.A.19 on your phone so that you can be eligible to receive the update. Besides, as this is a beta update, it will carry bugs so make sure that you are okay with these criteria and then only install the update on your Realme 5i.

As mentioned above, the update is limited to a set quota, for those who have registered successfully with this beta program, they are receiving the update with version number RMX2030EX_11_C.37 and adds all the features of Realme UI along with the core features of Android 10 to the device.

That means all the Android 8.0 Oreo or above running devices are coming under the Project Treble list. GSI stands for Generic System Image which is a system image file with unmodified AOSP code that runs on Project Treble devices as a ‘Pure Android’. Download and Install AOSP Android 10 for Realme 5i [GSI Treble]

Realme 5i Specifications:

The Realme 5i sports a 6.52 HD+ IPS LCD waterdrop notched display. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. It has an aspect ratio of 20:9 and pixel density of 269ppi. The display is protected under Corning Gorilla Glass. The Realme 5i is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor which is paired with 4GB of LPDDDR4X RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The internal storage can be expanded via MicroSD card up to 256GB.

Talking about optics, the smartphone has a quad rear camera setup. It has a primary 12MP Sony IMX 386 sensor with an aperture value of f/1.8 coupled with an 8MP ultrawide lens with an aperture value of f/2.25 and a tertiary 2MP macro lens and finally a 2MP depth sensor with an aperture value of f/2.4. To the front, it has an 8MP sensor with an aperture value of f/2.0.

The Realme 5i is packed with a 5,000mAh battery which charges via MicroUSB and supports 10W charging. The device runs on Colour OS based on Android Pie. The device has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for security purposes. The 3.5mm headphone jack is still present in the device. The device comes in Aqua Blue and Forest Green color options. The Realme 5i is priced at Rs 8,999 for the 4GB + 64GB variant.
