Reinstall the Visual C++Runtime Library

The runtime issue’s basic reason is that the system has an inappropriate or outdated version of the Visual Runtime Library.

  • Go to Microsoft’s official website to download Visual C++Redistributal for Visual Studio 2015.
  • Now navigate to the download folder, click on vc_redistx64.exe to install, and click on Next.
  • After that, agree on the terms and conditions and click on install.

  • Now follow the on-screen instruction to install the Visual C++ Runtime Library.
  • Check for the issue again and if it’s still the same, uninstall the Visual C++ Runtime Library and install the latest version in your system.

Check updates for Display Driver.

The runtime error is also due to an outdated driver, and the display driver is one of the main factors behind the issue. You can update the display driver in two ways one is automatic, and the next one is manual.

  • Right-click on the start menu and select Device Manager from the popup menu.
  • Navigate and double-click on the Display driver to expand the drivers.

  • Now click on search automatically for the driver to install it automatically. If you want to install it manually, first install the setup file, repeat the above process, and select Browse my computer for drivers.

Reinstall the Buggy Software

If the runtime issue is with any third-party application or software, then reinstalling is the best way to fix the problem as some of the files of the Application may be corrupt or missing, and it may be one of the reasons for the runtime issue.

  • Go to the control panel and then select Apps and feature.
  • Navigate to the third-party app from the application list and right-click on it.
  • Then click on uninstall and follow onscreen instructions to uninstall the culprit application.
  • After that, go to the Microsoft store or the website to install the application again on your system.

Check Disk by SFC(System File Checker)

Windows has its own tool to identify if any system file gets missing or corrupted, and that is the system file checker. Also, it will rectify the issue itself by installing the missing files from the official version of windows.

  • Click on Start Menu and search for Command Prompt or type cmd and then press Ctrl+ Shift+ Enter to open the command prompt as administrator.
  • Then press Yes to confirm the choice, type SFC/Scannow, and press Enter.

Restarting the system with a clean boot stands for restarting the system without any startup program. Also, you will identify the issue between the install application and the third-party application.

  • Press the Window +r key to open the run application and then type MSConfig and press Enter.
  • Select Services and click on Disable all, and then checkmark all Microsoft services in the next window in the Hide.
  • After that, select the startup tab and click Open Task Manager.
  • Now disable all the startup programs in the Task Manager.
  • Then click on Apply to confirm and the OK to submit the changes. It will ask for a restart. Click on the restart, and wait until the system restarts.

Uninstall the Latest Window Update

Sometimes the latest firmware update of Windows is not compatible with installed software, and as a result, it shows errors like runtime errors. Moreover, you can uninstall the latest update and roll back to the previous update version to fix the issue.

  • Press the Window +r key to open the run application and then type appwiz.cpl and press Enter.
  • It will open the program and feature tab, and in the left panel of the window, click on View installed updates.
  • Go to the latest update and right-click on it.
  • Now from the popup menu, select uninstall to remove the update.
