Asus Zenfone 9 Device Overview:

The Asus Zenfone 9 features a 5.9-inch Super AMOLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate. It is an FHD+ panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. The screen has a peak brightness of 1100 nits. Under the hood, we get the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor built on a 4nm manufacturing process. It is an octa-core processor with one Cortex-X2 core clocked at 3.19 GHz, three Cortex-A710 cores clocked at 2.75 GHz and four Cortex-A510 cores clocked at 1.80 GHz. For handling the graphics-intensive tasks, we have the Adreno 730. The smartphone comes with Android 12 out of the box with ZenUI skin running on top.

In terms of optics, we get a dual camera setup at the rear and a single selfie camera at the front. The dual rear camera setup consists of a 50 MP primary sensor paired with an f/1.9 lens and a 12 MP ultrawide sensor paired with an f/2.2 lens. The selfie camera at the front is a 12 MP primary sensor paired with an f/2.5 lens. The rear camera system can capture 8K videos at 24 fps, while the front camera is limited to 4K recording at 30 fps.

The smartphone comes with three storage options: 128GB internal storage + 8GB RAM, 256GB internal storage + 8GB RAM, and 256GB internal storage + 16GB RAM. We do not get a MicroSD slot for storage expansion. In terms of communications, we get Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6e, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C 3.0. And for sensors, we get a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass. Powering it all is a 4300 mAh battery that can be topped up quickly using a 30W power adapter. The smartphone is available in four colour options: Black, Blue, Red, and Silver.

Steps to Install Android 14 on Asus Zenfone 9

Before we get straight to the steps to flash the Android 14 on your Asus Zenfone 9, let us look at the prerequisites first.

Method 1: Instructions to Install via Recovery:

  1. Download the latest firmware from the above update tracker section (if available).
  2. Turn off your phone and enter the recovery mode by pressing the Power button +Volume UP button.
  3. Once you have booted into the recovery mode, select Apply Update from SD card.
  4. Locate the firmware file on your phone’s internal or external storage and select it.
  5. The installation will begin.
  6. Once the process is completed, your phone will reboot to put things into place.
  7. That’s it!

Method 2: Instructions to Install via ADB Sideload:

  1. Download the latest firmware from the above update tracker section (if available).
  2. Download and install the latest ADB and Fastboot tools on your PC.
  3. Move the downloaded firmware file to the location where you have installed the ADB and Fastboot tools.
  4. Enable Developer Options on your device.
  5. You must also enable the USB Debugging option on your phone under the Developer Options.
  6. Now head to the ADB installed folder and open a command prompt on the same folder by pressing the Shift Key + Right Mouse Click.
  7. Turn off your phone.
  8. Reboot your Asus Zenfone 9 into recovery mode by pressing the Volume UP + Power button together.
  9. You must now connect your phone to the PC using a USB cable. Make sure to use the original USB cable provided by the company to avoid any issues.
  10. Enter the below command in the command prompt:
    adb devices
  11. The above command will show you all the connected devices to the PC. If you have followed all the steps carefully, you will see your device serial number in the cmd.
  12. Type in the below command to execute the firmware file:
    adb sideload File_name.zip
    (Here, the “File_name” should be replaced with the file name of the firmware file that you have downloaded)
  13. Wait until the installation process is complete.
  14. Once the installation is complete, you can reboot your Asus Zenfone 9 smartphone.
  15. That’s it!
