Huawei Nova 6, 6 5G, and 6 SE Device: Overview
The Huawei Nova 6 has a 6.57-inches LTPS IPS LCD display, 1080×2400 pixels resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, HiSilicon Kirin 990 SoC, Mali-G76 MP16 GPU, an 8GB RAM, 128GB internal storage. It runs on Android 10 on the top of EMUI 10 and sports a 4,100mAh battery with 40W fast charging. The device packs a triple rear camera setup of a 40MP (wide, f/1.8) + an 8MP (telephoto, f/2.4) + an 8MP (ultrawide, f/2.4) lens. While the front has a dual 32MP (wide, f/2.0) + an 8MP (ultrawide, f/2.2) lens.
It packs a Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, a 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, dual-band A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, QZSS, NFC, USB Type-C port, etc. While the handset features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an ambient light sensor, an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity, compass sensor, etc. As the name suggests, the Huawei Nova 6 5G has the latest 5G connectivity.
It has additional 256GB of internal storage variant, a 4200mAh battery. While the rest of the features and specifications are the same. Now, talking about the Huawei Nova 6 SE variant, it has a 6.4-inches LCD display, HiSilicon Kirin 810 SoC, Mali-G52 MP6 GPU, quad rear cameras (48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP), a single 16MP selfie shooter, with lesser connectivity features. But the battery capacity and charging capability are the same as Nova 6 5G.
Check OTA Update
It’s quite possible that even if you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network or a mobile data, you can’t get the latest OTA update notification on your device which is quite unfortunate. That mainly happens due to the low battery level on your handset or the slow network connectivity. Meanwhile, the server-side OTA update roll-out process mostly gets delayed due to the carrier issues and batch pushes.
Therefore, if you’re also feeling that your Huawei Nova 6 series device hasn’t received any OTA update notification for a while, you should check for OTA updates manually. Just go to the device Settings > Choose System > Tap on System update > Check for updates. The device will automatically look for updates.
If there is a new update available for your handset, tap on the New Version > Select Install Now or schedule the update to be installed Overnight. Alternatively, you can launch the Huawei HiCare app > Tap on Update > Check for updates.

Steps to Install EMUI on Huawei Nova 6, 6 5G, and 6 SE
Before proceeding to the firmware installation steps, make sure to follow the requirements below and download your preferred firmware from above.
Pre-Requirements:
- Enable Developer Option and USB Debugging.
- You will require a PC/Laptop and USB Cable.
- Download and Install Huawei USB Drivers on your computer.
- Take a complete backup before flashing the firmware on your phone. Here is some backup method that you can follow.
- Make sure you have enough battery to run the upgrade process. Try to maintain more than 50% of battery juice.
