  1. I purchased the 77 A80J ten months ago in May of 2022. This issue started a couple to three months after purchase. I contacted Sony tech support in November. Went through the things you mentioned except factory reset. Contacted Sony again in February and went through same exercise. March 13 contacted them again and did the factory reset. After a week the black screen raised it ugly head again. I contacted Sony again March 21st now very disappointed and frustrated. I had my case escalated and spoke with with a representative in escalation. I described my frustration that I was tired of the excuse of Engineering was working on software fix. This excuses has been given to me from the first time I contacted Sony. I told the representative I wanted a replacement but he couldn’t that a software update was coming but no time-line available. This issue is apparently wide spread. I have emails of each time I’ve contacted Sony and have a case number assigned. I’m now thinking after reading your article that it’s possibly a hardware problem. Of course that would mean Sony to send a technician out to troubleshoot. I really have no faith in Sony to provide a software update to address this issue. One would think this issue should have already have a software fix or Sony’s Engineering is so incompetent. I’m wondering if there will end up being a class action lawsuit.

Please advise what to do next.

    Thanks
    Kenneth
