One of the most popular streaming services, Amazon Prime Video, is doing great worldwide. Now it has access to more than 200 countries, and the content that we see on Amazon Prime Video is equivalent to Netflix, if not better. Some might even argue that Amazon Prime Video is better, but everybody has a difference of opinion. Now what other Streaming services did better than Amazon Prime Video so far was the multi-user functionality. Netflix had a multi-user feature since 2013, where it allows anyone to open up a new user profile after logging into the admin’s Netflix account. This was missing in Amazon Prime Video but not anymore.

Now you can log in to your Amazon Prime Video account and create different profiles. These profiles can belong to the admin’s friends and family, and they can just stick to their profile when they use the account. Each user of the account having their profile means that nobody’s playlist is messed up.

Depending on the content that you stream, Amazon will keep recommending you things that you might like. If everyone uses the same profile to watch content, then everything will get messed up. How to add a user profile in Amazon Prime Video?

Now adding a user profile in Amazon Prime Video is quite simple, and it only takes a few steps. But before that, you should know that you can have a maximum of six user profiles here. And you can set up profiles for kids, too, in which the kids will be able to view content that is appropriate for children with the age of 12 or under. But the admin account for that particular subscription needs to be an adult one.

There are two ways that you can set up a new profile in Amazon Prime Video. You can use the web browser on your PC, or you can use the mobile application for iOS or Android devices. Now the interface on the iOS and Android apps are similar, so the process is the same in both the platforms.

Using a Browser:

• Go the Prime Video’s official website and sign in here using your login credentials.
• Once you are logged in, you will see different recommendations of content based on your interest. In the top right corner, you will also see a profile icon with your profile name written on it. Click on it.

• The account settings menu will drop down, and you will see the profiles associated with this account. Below the profile names, you will see the option” Add New.” Click on it.

• Now the new profile setup page will open up where you will be asked to enter a name for the profile. Just enter any name you want here. If you are setting this account for a kid, then turn on the toggle for “Kid’s Profile,” which is there right below the username box.

• Then click on “Save Changes,” and you are done.

Using the Application on iOS or Android:

• Open the Prime Video application on your smartphone.
• In the bottom right corner, you will see the option “My Stuff.” Tap on it.

• Then tap on your profile name icon in the top left corner.
• A drop-down menu will show up here. Now just tap on the “New” or “Create profile”option.

• Then you will be asked to enter a name for the profile. Just enter any name you want here. If you are setting this account for a kid, then turn on the toggle for “Kid’s Profile,” which is there right below the username box.

• Then tap on “Save,” and you are done.

How to edit a user profile in Amazon Prime Video?

Editing user profiles don’t mean that you add a picture or avatar as you can with Netflix. All that you can do here is change the name. You can’t even change from an adult profile to a kid’s profile, or from a kid’s profile to an adult profile. You can only delete the existing profile and recreate a new one with your preferred type.
