The Huawei Nova, released in October 2016, was a mid-range smartphone that offered a solid build and reliable performance for its time. The device featured a 5.0-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, delivering sharp visuals with a pixel density of approximately 441 ppi. The phone’s compact design, with dimensions of 141.2 x 69.1 x 7.1 mm and a weight of 146 g, made it comfortable to hold and easy to carry. It had an aluminum back and frame, giving it a premium feel despite its mid-range positioning.

The Huawei Nova was powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, an octa-core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz, paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, expandable via microSDXC using the shared SIM slot. This combination provided smooth performance for everyday tasks and moderate gaming. The device ran on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, upgradable to Android 7.0 Nougat, with Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 skin on top.

In terms of camera capabilities, the Huawei Nova came with a 12 MP rear camera featuring PDAF for faster focusing and the ability to record videos in 4K resolution at 30fps. The front-facing camera was an 8 MP shooter, capable of recording 1080p videos, making it suitable for selfies and video calls. The phone also included a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for added security and convenience.
