Overwatch 2 Hero Tier List (April 2024)

Sorting the best heroes in the Overwatch game series is always tricky. Overwatch 2 boasts a vast roster of 35 diverse heroes, and the developers have done really good work by balancing all of the heroes. After a long playtesting and research, we’ve compiled the Overwatch 2 hero tier list below, ranging from the greatest, must-have picks for any team to the least powerful characters available.

Overwatch is one of the most popular multiplayer first-person shooter video games, and a free-to-play sequel of the 2016’s Overwatch game “Overwatch 2” has been released recently. Practically it’s not a sequel of the previous game as the new game “Overwatch 2” has enormous changes and tons of new content in it.

This means that this game completely replaces overwatch 1, and the old players who are grinding on Overwatch 1 will be forced to update their game to Overwatch 2 to play further. The new players who try the Overwatch videogame series for the first time will only be able to play the new Overwatch 2.

As we already know, no new Overwatch heroes have been released since 2019; the developers put a full stop to this. The Overwatch team has added new playable characters in their new game. The developers said many more heroes would be added to this game with each season which can be only earned through battle passes.

Overwatch 2 Hero Tier List

Overwatch 2 Hero S Tier List (April 2024)

Lucio

Picking Lucio can feel like you’re not doing anything for the team, but consistent passive healing and well-timed attacks make Lucio an asset to any squad. His mobility is excellent for drawing attention away from the heroes that are healing in your team.

Kiriko

Kiriko stands out as Blizzard’s primary means of converting DPS players to support. Her healing production is modest at best, but she stands out due to her remarkable mobility and, for a supporting character, surprisingly high damage output.

Orisa

Overwatch 2 Hero Tier List

This robot tank is literally a high DPS [Damage Per Second] hero with a pinch of extra health compared to some heroes. Orisa is armed with a cannon that ensures that your path is always lethal.

Genji

This hero is actually a nightmare for the other characters in Overwatch 2, as he can easily deal a large amount of damage and got powerful abilities. Genji is clearly one of the top DPS [Damage Per Second] characters because he can dominate without worrying about counter-picks like Cassidy.

Zarya

In Overwatch 2, the tank role is highly powerful, and Zarya offers some of the finest close-range DPS capabilities among her teammates. She also makes it possible for her allies to escape by buffing them with the bubbles.

Sombra

Sombra was reworked in Overwatch 2, with less emphasis on her debilitating abilities and more emphasis on her damage output. Sombra’s hacking ability now binds a big damage amplifier to the opponent and can be used while unseen, making her an important part of any good backline attack.

Overwatch 2 Hero A Tier List (April 2024)

Tracer

Tracer

Tracer is known for her piloting skills. She was handpicked to test the prototype for the teleporting fighter. She is a time-jumping adventurer.

D.Va

D.Va is as powerful as ever, armed with efficient abilities in the game and a well-rounded kit. Her mobility makes her particularly effective at pursuing damage and support heroes, and you can do a lot of things with this hero once you breach the enemy backline.

Solider: 76

As we already know that there are plenty of high DPS [Damage Per Second] heroes in the Overwatch video game series, and Soldier: 76 is the most effective of them. This hero can sprint fast and heal himself which especially helps the players to escape and heal simultaneously.

Sigma

Overwatch 2 Hero Tier List

Sigma was no wimp in Overwatch 1, a recent round of buffs has transformed him into a viable tank option. Its new HP total of 550 makes him much more resilient

Ana

In case a team should win, keeping all the tanks alive is an important task for the players. So Ana is one of the most supportive heroes in the Overwatch video game. There are no major changes in Ana from Overwatch 1.

Overwatch 2 Hero B Tier List (April 2024)

Pharah

Pharah hasn’t altered much from Overwatch 1, but her aerial mobility and damage output abilities can remain dangerous if used wisely.

Reaper

Overwatch 2 Hero Tier List

Reaper’s damage output has been reduced in Overwatch 2, but his tank damage potential is so high that he’s typically worth playing.

Ashe

Ashe is still a good pick as it always was, the only thing is you must actually land your shots to get the most out of her. She’s known for her dynamite attack that leaves a ton of damage in congested areas.

Baptiste

If you want to support your team from the frontline and make the frontline secure? If yes, Baptiste will be the best pick for you.

Brigette

Overwatch 2 Hero Tier List

Brigitte is melee support with tank potential who provides tonnes of passive boosts and shielding for her teammates.

Echo

Echo is also a tank buster, but it is much weaker in Overwatch 2. Anyhow, it still got fast mobility and high DPS

Sojourn

Sojourn can also be called Soldier: 76 2. Even though it may not have hit scan, it’s very powerful at medium and close range.

Mei

Overwatch 2 Hero Tier List

Mei’s weapon no longer freezes enemies in Overwatch 2. But it can still be picked because of her fire-laying ability.

Hanzo

Hanzo is also one of the best DPS heroes in the game, but with higher kill skills. He can literally wipe out teams in the spot if used wisely.

Doomfist

Doomfist excels at tracking down back liners, snipers, and airborne heroes, but his offensive talents are limited to close-range combat.

Winston

Winston’s newly charged railgun assault allows him to do far greater burst damage than Overwatch 1 if used according to the right strategy.

Widowmaker

Overwatch 2 Hero Tier List

Widowmaker can actually take down the enemy’s support hero with a single charged headshot makes her a great pick in the proper hands.

Moira

Moira is known for her survivability during the match. She is the best pick for clearing out congested areas. Her healing abilities are top-notch.

Wrecking Ball

Wrecking ball is known for its durability and keep in mind that attacks like orisa’s javelin throw can easily dent wrecking ball’s durability. But still, it can kill opponents.

Junker Queen

Overwatch 2 Hero Tier List

Junker Queen’s powers have been nerfed by the developers in the season to show her weak. This made us place her in B-Tier. But still, she can perform well if you maintain her health during fights and top her attacks.

Overwatch 2 Hero C Tier List (April 2024)

Reinhardt

Reinhardt is actually the truest tank in Overwatch 2. He excels at absorbing enemy fire and pulling the other team members into battle. Reinhardt’s kit received significant boosts in Overwatch 2, but these improvements haven’t been enough to lure the players.

Zenyatta

Zenyatta contributes to both DPS and support. He is still one of the simplest heroes to defeat in Overwatch 2. But still it can play well as the balls thrown from him are one of the most powerful attacks in the room.

Bastion

Overwatch 2 Hero Tier List

Bastion’s DPS potential against tanks can make a large difference if you play each scenario right. Bastion may be immensely effective with a squad around him, but it’s rarely worth the price.

Mercy

Mercy is a great supporting hero. She will be still helpful if you’re continually healing a good DPS player, especially if they’re airborne, but otherwise, she doesn’t provide enough healing to compensate for the gap she creates in your team’s offensive skills.

Torbjorn

This Swedish engineer is yet another victim of Overwatch 2’s fast-paced meta, and while his turret can chip away at advancing attackers, most heroes can easily avoid it.

Overwatch 2 Hero D Tier List (April 2024)

Junkrat

Junkrat may be a devastating pick on maps with a lot of small passageways, but he’s docile otherwise and there are considerably fewer CQC confrontations in Overwatch 2 than in Overwatch 1. His trap has also been significantly nerfed.

Cassidy [AKA McCree]

Overwatch 2 Hero Tier List

Players can never forget who McCree is, as he was the coolest hero in the entire series. Beware that McCree is renamed Cassidy in Overwatch 2. Cassidy is fantastic when you hit every shot and terrible when you don’t.

His revolver is one of the only hit-scan guns in the game capable of dealing with fast-moving characters like Lucio, Mercy, and Pharah.

Symmetra

Symmetra is the hero who most needs a makeover right now. Her kit was somewhat successful in Overwatch 1, but the changes made into this hero didn’t attract players any further.

Roadhog

As we already know roadhog has a limited range, which makes it a poor fit for Overwatch 2 as literally all other heroes have high mobility. Although his hook may be helpful for snagging and taking down enemy-supporting heroes, it requires precise aim.
