Fix: Samsung Smart TV Netflix Not Working/ Black Screen Issue

With its wide variety of content, Netflix has something for everyone now. New content pours in every week, while the older ones are cleared off in stages. Even on days when you are not sure about what to watch, you can open up the application, and you will find something there.

This popularity has led to smart TV manufacturers, including Netflix, with their TVs by default. Samsung, one of them, also sells their smart TVs with Netflix built into their device. But despite being a default application on a Samsung smart TV, Netflix does run into a few errors on it. One of the most common is the app going blank with no content showing up on it. Check the servers:

If you see something wrong with the servers, you need to wait till the developers of Netflix work on it. There is nothing you can do from your end to fix this.

However, if you see nothing wrong with the servers, move on to the following possible solution.

Soft reset your TV:

As simple as it may sound, most devices’ problems can be fixed with just a single restart. Even in this case, you can try restarting or resetting your Samsung Smart TV to fix the black screen issue.

Check your Netflix plan:

It is hard to keep track of every subscription plan. With Netflix, there is a chance that your plan might have expired, or someone changed it entirely to a single screen plan or something like that. Check the connection:

  • Go to the Settings section.
  • Using your remote, navigate to support.

  • Here, choose the option Self Diagnosis.
  • Now go to the bottom and select the option “Reset Smart Hub.”
  • Your TV will ask for a PIN to confirm your action. By default, the PIN is set as 0000.
  • Once you put the PIN in, wait till the reset process is complete.

Contact Samsung:

As an extreme measure, you can also contact Samsung’s customer support. There is a chance that the issue with the screen could be related to faulty hardware, and in that scenario, none of the solutions mentioned above will work.
